Democrats Nurse Fresh Memories Of Bad Faith Republican 'Bipartisanship' | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC

  1. It never was, and never will be GOP’s intention to give relief to the people who put them there. Obama gave them the benefit of the doubt that Republicans would come through for the country and was disappointed. I hope Biden’s the wiser.

    1. You’re the only person I’ve heard express the same sentiment about obama as mine, an idealistic fool. The only hope we have is that joe is white. As white people, we never have to care if we’re liked.

    1. @D mpk
The only bipartisan bills should be bills proposed by Democrats, with republican revisions that make sense to the Democrats. Forget trying to appease them and gain their votes. Do what is right for the majority of Americans.

    2. @Josh R. I agree 100 percent. They are there to create failure for the administration and common man as much as they can.

    1. @Mike Cannady if you can’t see a clear distinction, you are not seeing the forest through the trees, my friend.

    2. Never trust a Republican who out loud has to claim their Christianity.
At age 65, “Christian Republican” is an oxymoron. And I knew Agolf Twitler was a lying, cheating, swindler since mid 70’s. I still would like to know how 74 million fellow Americans didn’t also know. I guess their the sheeple. Vote for a party just because “I’ve always voted Republican”. SMDH.

    3. @David Koster “I was just following orders” never works. It’s also on the people who did the actual thing.

    1. I swear I mean this 100% and am not being glib when i say “you should run for public office.” I wish all the people who don’t trust politicians would create the “i don’t trust politicians” party. Your platform could be “100% honesty even when the truth hurts.”

    2. @BSinNYCI hear you. “100% honesty even when the truth hurts.” is indeed a vital part of the foundation. When you cut off the extra fat of lies, selfishness, false humility, overcharged emotions, and greed; there is a way to get the work done for the American people.

    1. @Neil Rusling Absolutely. I feel the same way. Dems need to grow a pair and LEAD. Because bipartisanship is not a one-way street.

    2. I look at lefties with aww in your stupidity! Do you not see the irony of crying for four years that the Russians stole the election, then saying anyone who believes elections are not fool proof with literal MOUNTAINS of evidence are conspiracy theorists! Show me ONE, JUST ONE AFFIDAVIT SAYING TRUMP COLLUDED WITH RUSSIANS THAT HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED WITH FACTS!! THERE ARE THOUSANDS ON THIS ELECTION AND HUNDREDS WORTHY OF A COURT HEARING!

    1. Yeah sure, you really won’t accept that democrats lied to you to get your vote even though they have the White House and the Congress…..

    2. @Joy Phillips Not the time to gaslight, Joy. You are making it clear that you are team player, not a citizen supporter.

    3. @Joy Phillips Oh, we can accept that, as long as you admit that Republicans and Trump supporters are Fascist Oligarchs with no moral compass and extremely stupid ideas they think are facts but are really just opinions and feelings. Can you accept that?

    4. what planet have you been on for the last four years? the democrats fought every single thing the republicans attempted…you could hear glee in the media’s voice whenever the stock market had a bad day. you are obviously not an inquisitive,or honest person you just want things taken from some people and given to you…the republicans offered jobs and opportunities, but you just want it free…the democrats fought the Republican stem plan, and then threw in money for gender studies overseas…lib tards are not critical thinkers

    5. @howard matts Bwaahahaha, so very full of hubris you are.
Republicans offer only the most embarrassing solutions to an ever more complex world… your last choice of president confirmed our worst fears.

      You CRAVE CIVIL WAR!
Yet few of you even grasp how dumb it is to try to erase your little Capitol invasion videos claiming success and victory … right before being arrested by the FBI.

      You have NOTHING.

  2. Only thing that Republican’s seem to be good at is giving the rich tax breaks and standing in the way of everything else.

    1. @Grace Munich how did Trump do nothing? I simply can not wrap my head around your level of insanity! Should we go straight commie authoritarian? EVERY FOUR YEARS SOME DISEASE COMES FROM CHINA! IT’S ALL BEEN GASLIGHTING, AND IF YOU CANT SEE THAT YOU ARE HOPELESS

    2. @Grace Munich furthermore democrats blocked checks, PELOSI admitted it! You are just unable to think critically and I blame your parents! Shame on them!

    3. @Grace Munich also you speak of “my” master but you strangely have nothing to say about or in defense of yours! Ha loser

  3. Please believe Republicans when they show you who they are……..this is the time…..not to be fooled again!

    1. @Jayne Berkley Speech is not being silenced? Protest is not being called treason? Freedom loving Americans are not being demonized? Who needs to wake up again?

    2. H Jansma Why would I want America to fall, this is a question of truth and lies, Republicans stand for the big lie, the face of the party is conspiracy theories, a x president that still continues to influence the GOP, when he is the biggest loser, lost the W house ,lost the senate , and didn’t get the house, the majority of Americans voted for Biden, and they are sick of Republican tears and whining, and disgusting behaviour at the capitol, prison and justice is coming for them and Trump, in my opinion as soon as possible!!

    3. @Jayne Berkley I was in DC on Jan 6. You talk of the history of now forget what I know! I can not do that! The election was stolen and the evidence is there as I saw it with my own eyes! Democrats are bullies and stole the election with underhanded rule changes to mail in ballots and straight strongarm tactics at count centers, I SAW THESE THINGS!

    4. @Jayne Berkley Democrats are the party of violence and destroying things! I watched them encourage my city getting smashed because of the BIG LIE that America is not the greatest country on earth!!!

    1. @Nikki E. Because Biden keeps going on about unity and bipartisanship. He had a meeting with Republicans the other day to talk about their proposal for COVID relief (which is less than a third of what Biden put forth). They’re doing exactly the same as they always do, and Biden seems to be falling for it AGAIN.

    2. @Adam Taylor *”and Biden seems to be falling for it AGAIN.”* – Biden refusing to even meet with Republicans would be political suicide and spell the end of Democratic control of both the House and Senate. WIth knock on effects in state and local races as well.

Acting unilaterally when necessary is one thing, but refusing to even meet with the opposition party will be punished by voters in 2 years.

    3. @Nikki E. you got that right! that’s why I suggest high school. Because you know MS NBC is not playing in the household where Fox News is

    4. We could start that. Just share it on what ever social media you have and copy either your local senator or house rep. Or Just send it to them all. If it’s spammed by everyone then pretty much like what happened to joe machin when he got all of those phone calls would happen.

  4. Every time Republicans offer bipartisanship, think about what their real objective is. Probably to delay and obstruct.

    1. They don’t offer, they demand. So they can pout that their demands aren’t met. If their demands are met they just add new demands and repeat. The very idea that anyone but them could exercise power is an insult to them.

    2. Not probably. Absolutely this has been agreed by all of them, that is why they only have one large vote block. No dissention allowed in republican America. No free speech, you must speak the parties current (whatever) or you are ostracized.

    3. VOL 🗽 Definitely! GOP ‘s con is always obstructing JUSTICE and policy for the public especially working class American. No discriminatory practices there! ALL of US are FAIR game for their GAIN! The GREED is real!

    4. VOL 🗽 divide and conquer is the name of their GAME! Their constituents fall for it EVERY single time and EVERY election cycle. 🙈🙉🙊

  5. The moral to this clip is Republicans aren’t worth the time because they are too busy turning rotten.

  6. Republicans had 4 years to practice “unity” under Trump and no dice. Screw “unity”, now’s not the time to be begging for friendship from the GOP.

    1. Spot on. There can be no unity until there is evidence of caring and governing by Republicans. The NYT piece today on comparing economic performance data between Democratic and Republican administrations is startling. Suggest all to read. Keep the Republicans out of government for our own health and well being.

    2. Pres. Biden campaigned to be a president for people who did and didn’t vote for him. Biden has to reach across the aisle.

    3. @Matthew Jay Did you not watch the video? There is no “reaching across the isle” with republicans, because they will just waste your time.

    4. @Matthew Jay false dichotomy. “Reaching across the aisle” does not equal “working hard so that *all* Americans benefit equally.” GOP politicians have proven time and time again that they are The Obstructionist Party, caring only for reelection. They have proven time and time again that they are only for change and legislative revision when they are in power. GOP *politicians* gain nothing from working across the aisle, and actually risk being primaried when they do.

HOWEVER, the Biden administration and the Democratic-controlled congress can enact legislation that benefits all Americans (stimulus/relief, infrastructure, healthcare reform/single payer, raising minimum wage, etc.), most of which would be vociferously opposed by GOP politicians.

GOP politicians work only for themselves, *NOT* their constituency. There is absolutely nothing beneficial to working with them, and the right-wing media 100% will go on the attack no matter how much outreach Biden does.
