This is so scary. Imagine if they tried to deport everyone who couldn’t speak English. A quarter of my immediate family would be gone. And they’re all legally naturalized citizens. Those border patrol staff are so prejudiced.
Poemi10304:: Exactly. Normally you are required to speak English in order to naturalize. But there are exceptions, particularly exceptions based on advanced age. But I know some Vietnamese people who naturalized and they they speak virtually no English and they are not old. Either way, one does not get to pick the country you are born in nor the language your parents taught you when you are young. Seemingly this young man only has an American Citizenship. That means he would be stateless if they revoked his American citizenship— it doesn’t matter what language he speaks.
