@Bryan B He was cleared of collusion, not obstruction. Mueller made that clear when he stated Barr misinterpreted the report (i.e. lied about it). Mueller went as as far as to say Trump could be charged at a later date. The only one who exonerated Trump was Trump.

The White is objecting only to give the appearance of fair play. The memo will be released sooner rather than later.

@Mark. I totally agree. HOWEVER, what if the memo jeopardizes an ongoing investigation or names people that would jeopardize national security. I have faith, out of EVERYTHING GOING ON THAT THE DOJ WOULD NOT ARBITRARILY FIGHT TO KEEP A DOCUMENT SEALED JUST TO WASTE TIME. THERE IS SOMETHING THAT IS DETRIMENTAL, AND WE WILL SEE IT IN TIME. There’s not. Mueller already stated that he didn’t disagree with Barr’s conclusion.
@Rod No he did not. In fact, he took the unusual step to call a press conference after Barr announced his conclusions to tell the public specifically he did NOT exonerate trump. He also stated that to congress while under oath. Trumpers sure have a keen way of twisting up the facts.
Time to indict Barr, then this document gets subpoenaed.

Not necessarily. Garland very well may have appealed part of the memo’s release because he has an ongoing investigation into Barr! That’s what I believe is going on here. That and/or setting a bad precedent for his own DOJ.
Perhaps there is an investigation of Barr going on, but then the Neil K, would have raised that. We just have to stay tuned, we may not have heard the last of this.
I believe that is the reason Garland appealed and redacted part of it. Look that 3 judges have already said Barr lied about the Mueller report, including Judge Berman (?), who ordered the memo released. So, there is at least a 50/50 that is the reason. The other is that the redacted portion does hold some DOJ privilege. Or both.

Garland doesn’t want the precedent set. ABJ has already given a clear indication of what the memo contains. There’s no political advantage to be gained by releasing it and they don’t want this decision used to let conservative, partisan judges force the release of other internal memos.

If he hadn’t announced he was going to be investigating Hilary’s emails (which she was never charged with a crime and Comey eventually said she committed no crime) was not only the first time the DOJ has ever made an announcement like this so close to an election, it also meant if he hadn’t announced it, Trump never would have won.
