Dominican beauty wins Miss Carival pageant

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent, Monday July 1, 2013 – Leslassa Armour-Shillingford won the Miss Carival pageant here on Friday night, less than two months after she emerged first runner-up in the Miss Caribbean World pageant held in the British Virgin Islands in May.

The Dominican beauty also captured the Miss Photogenic, Best Talent, Best Evening Wear and Best Interview awards in the competition that attracted contestants from the English and Spanish speaking Caribbean.

The first runner-up position went to Zinga Ayesha Joharia Imoring of St Kitts and Nevis while the local contestant, Shara George, placed third.(CMC)
