Gov. Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency after flooding in parts of Virginia left dozens of people missing and more than 100 homes damaged.

Officials in southwestern Virginia say dozens of people are unaccounted for and likely over 100 homes were damaged after heavy rains caused devastating flooding in rural Buchanan County.
First responders, including swift water rescue teams, from across southwest and central Virginia headed to the area as water levels rose overnight and early Wednesday morning. On Tuesday, the National Weather Service office in Charleston, West Virginia, had issued a flash flood warning lasting into early Wednesday for parts of West Virginia and Virginia and also warned of severe thunderstorms in the area.

It’s what happened to my aunt. She’s just bought a home in this area and while at her home in Tennessee she found out yesterday the home she just bought in Virginia the foundation’s destroyed by the flood.

I moved to high ground early. I didn’t know about climate change, but I had seen what flooding could do.
Why anyone has ever built on the banks of a river or in any other flood zone is beyond my comprehension.

@Patrick Ross Appalachian mountains are full of hollers and creeks. The creeks or rivers flows between the mountains in those hollers. There’s not much room for building unless you want to build on side of a mountain. So people have built homes through time in the valleys and between the mountains where said buildable land can be obtained. It’s why appalachian mountains have no sprawling cities… not enough space. If you look at map of Appalachia and view the parts with mountains you will find pockets of people. It’s a major reason a state like West Virginia has no major cities. Charleston is really only area in heart of West Virginia with a valley hence the name of county and area Charleston sits, Kanawha Valley, because it’s one of the few valleys in the state. It’s all mountain ridge on both sides with a narrow valley in middle aka hollers.

People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That’s God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He’s Holy and righteous because He’s righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He’s always serious about everything He said to do. He’s just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏
Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God’s law you are. If you don’t believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it’s fullness.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
He’s worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said.
