  1. Biden/ Harris 2020! Make america respected again.

  2. Correct , cases never went to below 100 per day so yes , still in first wave , New Zealand waited for single digits per day before opening then they went to zero , and their new cases are from travel , not a second wave , if they didn’t accept people back from overseas , they wd be completely free of covid , I don’t know why America was opened back up smack in the middle of a pandemic , makes no sense , it was literally suicide

So is that the plan? To constantly be in a state of semi-lockdown? The government can step in at any time and shut down everything? How is that winning? Sounds to me like you have surrendered to the fear of the virus.

    • Because Trump never even tried to take control, we had piecemeal lockdowns and piecemeal openings while Trump tweeted inanely.

    • @Sparky McSpark No. The plan should be (and should have been) a REAL lockdown, barring REAL essentials, for 12 weeks. Enforce strict quarantine measures for ALL travelers entering the country. Get COVID under control this way… then start taking measures to open up. We could have been the leaders here: we could have been past this by the end of May.

    • @Sparky McSpark god no , im lucky , i live in nz , i followed the science with the rest of our country , we gave up a liitle of our freedoms for a short time , stuck to it and now we are pretty much back to normal life again , i dont understand why you guys cant , just for a little while , then life can get back for you too

Yes, America is waiting for.. ……. the BLUE TSUNAMI wave!!! VOTE! BYEDON!!

  4. If nothing is done and especially if Trump wins and goes for herd immunity I can see the death toll by the end of 2021 to be in excess of 5 million.

feel like andrea might be losing her stride.

  6. Clearly, we’re still in the first wave. So what happens when this second major wave that’s hitting the rest of the world hits us? Likely, if there’s still no American plan of action, it’ll wind up being a tidal wave of dead citizens.

  7. From England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿: I am so sorry America you have a mad man running your country. You can change this on the 3rd of November..

I’m surprised people still speak English in England.
      Couple more decades, maybe.

    • @Sparky McSpark …. Was that supposed to be funny? I am surprised Americans understand English ..The entire globe is acutely aware of Trump’s word salad and how extremely difficult it is for him to speak , write or understand English . We presume that is why he prefers and married 2 women from communist Eastern European countries who can hardly speak English fluently…Till today , I cannot fathom how Melania – your First Lady was able to converse with our Queen- who by the way doesn’t speak a foreign language ..

Many a true word spoken in jest.

However, The indigenous population is still 86% notwithstanding the EU’s free movement and the rubber boat arrivals.

Trump said he didn’t believe exit polls. He claims that he collects stadiums all over the country. In fact, his paid extras follow him everywhere. This is his fake PR.

  9. *MSNBC … please stop saying that “the Virus does not care”… like the Virus has feelings. A Virus is indiscriminate. It is Trump who does not care.*

  10. Trump: “We’re going for herd immunity…” Dr. Fauci: “I advise against herd insanity…”

  11. Of course not. We had a President who admits he lied about Covid from the start.

  12. There is no second wave for America, we’re still in the first wave because of lack of leadership

Flattening the curve has the side effect of prolonging the outbreak.

    • Sparky McSpark – Prolonging it slightly, leaving the health care system able to treat patients. I’d say you’re the dumbest person on Earth, but sadly, you are just one of millions of idiots.

Nearly everyone suffering, horribly, sometimes dying are:
    1. Income under $140,000.
    2. The majority of the hardest hit & dying earn under $55,000 per household.
    3. Persons if color are seriously ill & dying at far greater rates than the white demographic.
    4. Most of the serious &.long term ill & dead, their families & friends? Never Trumpers. So…no great loss. It’s nit like they are actually people.
Nit the way we are anyway!

  14. That’s pretty obvious to the rest of the world that you’re still increasing through Phase 1. Such a tragedy. 😥

“Herd immunity” is a convenient excuse for doing nothing! Same as bankruptcy is to the Trump business model.

    • Sparky McSpark – Absolutely false. Doing nothing was projected to cause 200 million deaths. Do you even know what a virus is, Einstein? Of course masks and distance work. How do you think it gets around? On the internet?? Moron.

    • Daisy Unchained | October 15, 2020 at 5:50 PM | Reply

Sparky McSpark Then you’d be gaslighting like Trump does. Disgusting. We’re beating our second wave in Australia. Less than 1000 dead and our economy is in better shape than yours. Because we have reasonably competent leaders who care about lives and tell the truth rather than a nasty clueless incompetent troll.

    • Sparky McSpark | October 15, 2020 at 5:54 PM | Reply

@J Groovy First off, I think you mean 2.5 million deaths. That original estimate was nothing more than fear mongering to get people to comply.
Masks and distance only slow the spread. Slowing the spread has the side effect of prolonging the outbreak. It doesn’t affect the overall death rate.

    • Sparky McSpark – Yes, I meant to say 2 million, but it is absolutely false that it does not change the death toll. Again, do you not understand how a virus is transmitted?

Herd immunity requires 70% of the population to be infected. That’s 2 million dead, many more sick, an overwhelmed health care system, and a crashed economy.

If we had shut down effectively, there would have been 40k-60k deaths.

Shutting down ineffectively was to have 100k-220k deaths, and we are at 215k now.

    • Daisy Unchained | October 15, 2020 at 7:30 PM | Reply

J Groovy There’s also the ongoing effect on society and the health system of the percentage of people who don’t fully recover from the disease. Hopefully they’re not permanently disabled, but we don’t know yet.

  16. In other news Steve sculls suspended indifferently for lying bout his Twitter hack.

  17. The single, MOST important thing we can do for COVID-19 is to isolate the President.

  18. Johnny Hollandsworth | October 15, 2020 at 4:47 PM | Reply

It’s about time someone stated the truth, “We are still in the first wave. “

  19. America is the world’s covid epicentre and it’s economy amongst the worst hit. Nine months in and there’s still no national plan for containing covid and dealing the economic shock. Other counties have done so much better. Trump’s lies and incompetence have cost America dearly. Vote him out and the Republican lackeys that backed him.

“Dr. Amesh Adalja: ‘I Don’t Think We Ever Got Over The First Wave'” and this re-affirms yet again that #DJT is “utterly incompetent” as per the words of both his own Federal Judge elder-sister Maryanne Trump Barry and his own clinical psychologist niece Dr. Mary Trump. May fellow American voters accordingly tell #ImPOTUS45 “You’re fired” by overwhelmingly voting for the exact opposite instead of more #MourningInAmerica.
