  1. South Korea: everybody wears a maks. Super low death cases.
Western developed countries: not enough maks even for medical staff. High number of deaths.

    1. South Korea, Singapore low cases but government also tracks the people’s every move. So pick you poison high death counts and freedom or low death counts and big brother watching you 24/7?

    2. @lobo00712 Canada had confirmed covid-19 cases in January so I don’t think we’re that far behind the curve, though we haven’t peaked yet. Our pop. isn’t as large as most other countries so we have to compare apples to apples. We’ve tested more than 220,000 already, so we’re getting closer to the testing rates, per capita, of S. Korea (our pop. is only 74% of theirs, less than 50% of Germany’s etc.).
I know it’s dependent on overall cases which is why we’ve been focusing on testing and social distancing, tracking and self isolation – huge focus on getting our testing increased, distancing, self isolation and treatments for those already infected.
Unfortunately we can’t focus on everything at once…we don’t have the facilities or pop. and the huge distances between our cities pose some problems, so testing and treatment, along with distancing and isolation, is where we’re focused right now.

    3. @Kathleen Overton voluntary quarantine at home is not helping. In China and S. Korea have still facilities to isolate the suspected cases away from the infected. Some people because of the stigma don’t talk the hell of a job China did of a population of over one billion. S. Korea got help from China. But the rest of the Counties that ask Chinese experts and supplies will recover faster. an American infected student arrived to Korea did not go to the Dr and did not isolated the spread began on the plane and the numbers went up. And all who came in contact with her must quarantine obligatory. Extra numbers for Korea to deal. The government after she is treated and recovered will face serious charges. Link below. A lecture in wich Fauci spoke against stigma, and that we wore so ready for next pandemic. And we are not. We do mistakes because we are just humans. in China all had to have masks .That is the first thing they are doing to all the Counties they are helping they bring with them a large supplies not only masks but all nedeed suplies. But because of Trump no media is prasing China for the help. Trump had a phone call asking China for help China without hesitation agreed, but Trump signed a bill for Taiwan next day. Korea was gonna help but Trump trushed them up in a briefing their response was we will help if we can. Trump trushed Europe and and other Countries. Now US is isolated. In the link below interesting and informative lecture Malaria meds wore used in China with out approval and it did help in some way. They also created a system that the test results took seconds. Unfortunately because of Trump Chinese Dr and nurses are not praised for the hell they went through. And sadly we can see how is effecting our nurses too. Fauci talking in the link about no to stigma and no to blaming Countries for where the virus began. He spoke about the Kansas influenza. He brought an example that China shouldn’t not be stigmatized any Country where the viruses began. Fauci is with out a doubt one of the best. Here he talks strongly against stigma. And that we wore prepared for the next pandemic sadly we are not because of Trumps negligence. And the best of experts do mistakes because we are humans. Example. Plains crush by the best pilots from pilot error. 2018 lecture of Fauci. https://youtu.be/vlSReDxos-c

    4. @King M You only figured that out now? I have stayed away from most Americans for years. Cant talk to them at all. Their ears and minds close quickly.

    5. Due to laws. Most of the masks being worn in Korea are not NIOSH certified, nor are they made by 3M, or are they even medical grade. There is a big… big… difference.

  2. Don’t forget about Gloves. Disposable gloves when you shop and are otherwise out in the public.

    1. Yes, hand washing is better. Gloves offer no protection. You touch a contaminated surface, then touch your eyes, nose, or mouth, and you may be infected. Exactly the same as with bare hands. Because of this misunderstanding, many have a false sense of security from gloves, and are less cautious than if they had bare hands.

    2. @Bonnie Stuehmer Do both. Wear gloves and do not touch your face. One of the reasons (aside from low availability) masks were not recommended initially is that people aren’t trained in sterile procedure. They touch their masks, rub their noses through their mask, thinking it’s safe. It isn’t.

    3. @Bonnie Stuehmer consider that when you fill your car with petrol/gas, go to the supermarket and push a trolley, use an ATM, etc you are touching public surfaces used by many. Gloves offer you the ability to create a temporary barrier that limit exposure to the surface of the glove. Before getting back into your car, the gloves can be removed, then you are limiting the spread of contamination. Obviously if you touch your face whilst wearing gloves you compromise the protection – the same goes for a surgeon in an operating theatre. This does not mean that gloves are not an effective infection control measure, it simply means that they must be used correctly in order to be effective. I wore gloves yesterday for the first time in Melbourne Australia going to Costco. It felt strange but I was not the only one (maybe 50% of people). Petrol/gas pumps are especially risky. Stay safe!

    4. Or, hear me out….wash your hands often with soap, water, and at least 30 seconds of vigorous, purposeful friction. And be sure to dry your bands after with a clean towel.

    5. Andrew Lockwood I was with you until you said you are limiting the spread of contamination. You are certainly protecting yourself if used properly, but every time you touch one surface, then touch another, you have potentially cross contaminated between surfaces. Honestly though, as long as you are protecting yourself, that’s all you can do. Best to you all down under, stay safe and healthy!

  3. How is this man 79 years old & have the energy of 19 year old?!?! He’s the true leader and people should *ONLY* listen to him & *NOT* that orange fruit 😩😩.

    1. He does look good for his age. I’m in my 40’s, MD also. People, be nice to your doctors. We train for ~20 yrs. The push for cheap healthcare results in me being substituted by NP’s who only trained for 6 years.
If I had a time machine I would have done energy engineering. I gave up my chance at having a family, ever owning a house, all to be a doctor.
The lack of N95s is such a waste. Medical professionals sacrificed enough already.
P.S. anyone over age 70 do not sign up with You knighted healthcare insurance. Mis spelled on purpose. They kill people. I resigned from them after seeing up close how nasty they are.

  4. Can you imagine having to walk the razor between pissing off that adminstration and getting out accurate information? Ughhhh, Christ. Dude does not get paid enough.

    1. @cedarpope yes sir.. this man is our front line information I believe…. Definitely deserves more , this is one of only men I listen to…. Bc he is on point. And dont beat around bush

  5. It is best that we listen to him talk to give us some facts on the reality of how things are being unfold during these times obviously not a president that seems to really not understand the magnitude of this disease..

    1. China and S. Korea drastically reduced the number of infected because they all used masks! Use a mask!!

    2. @Shakalaka Bombastic It stays viable in the air for up to 3 hours. It’s been found in the vents of isolation rooms that held patients in Canada. Yes you can catch it from walking through it and breathing it in. Maybe you should do a bit more research.

    3. I was going to comment but i see there is an overwhelming amount of useless stupidity here. Europe proved they don’t work? S Korea and Japan proved they do. Europe is overrun, japan and s Korea have it contained. It doesn’t work unless everybody wears one in public. Sooooo much to convince stupid people on science and physics when a onow it all politician has sway and over a few “experts” to lie. Use you big fat head people. Why do you think they use masks and gowns in the operating? Why do you think they wear them in the morgue?
Go ahead and get your medical advice from politicians and your girlfriend’s mother.

  6. Someone give this man a spokesperson, so he could get some rest!

Stay inside, don’t be a burden, help health workers!

    1. Remember when they said dont buy mask. It wont help you. Its only for healthcare workers. Now they are talking about giving everyone masks

    2. @Killukwik DIFFERENT kind of masks — the n95 STILL need to be saved for the much-higher-risk healthcare workers who are exposed all day long vs. the public with much lower exposure can use simple home-made masks. I do wish that had be suggested earlier too, but I want to respond because anger and suspicion will only make this pandemic more deadly for all.
Please don’t look for reasons to be angry, please try to understand the incredible risks and sacrifices that healthcare workers like my colleagues are making in order to try to save your life and others.

    3. cedarpope Why does everyone keep saying leave the masks for medical personnel many places are selling masks online they’re is no shortage eBay, Amazon, Ali Express, Light in the box and many more medical workers are also able to purchase them?

  7. You’re exhausting Dr. Fauci with the same questions. Give the guy a break. He needs to think of his own health too.

    1. eCom Snacks he’s such a giver. But we need him to be okay. You’re completely right, they’re exhausting him with the same questions. He deserves rest.

    2. Absolutely correct. This guy talked about what his day to day life was like since the Covid19 outbreak and it’s basically go all day and night with maybe 3 hours of sleep. I have had a tough time doing that, and this guy’s old enough to be my father.

  8. This poor man answering the same damn questions 100 times a day! Losing his voice. Poor guy needs to go home and rest! Last thing we need is for him to catch the corona 😫

  9. The use of masks should be a mandatory practice in healthcare, regardless of covi19 or not, the nose and mouth are points of entry of many things. Healthcare workers should wear them permanently at work.

    1. Fredy Rojas – unfortunately people feel shamed /embarrassed to wear them. I work in a hospital, and 10 out of 100 nurses+drs wore masks in my department☹️ two anesthesiologists, 1 doctor, 7 nurses. We know that it is in our community, and we are not able to protect ourselves well.

    2. Agreed! I work in healthcare, and would love to always wear a mask. It protects all of us – nurses, doctors, and patients.

  10. I am an American living in Bangkok. A lot of people here where masks at anytime, but now EVERYONE wears a mask.

    1. @Victor Flores my mum was a nurse 40years they had no proper mask and she was working in infectious ward with TB patients. My mum made masks herself with 16layers of guaze, and she is safe never infected

    2. @Ran Z that will soon flip to the opposite. If wearing a dead skunk on your head guaranteed your safety, I’d happily wear one of those!

    3. Victor Flores Buy online I bought mine from Ali Express this
Last Friday shipped from USA they will arrive on Friday April 3rd cost about 14.00 For 2 masks and they are re-usable

  11. The CDC lied by saying masks aren’t necessary. They said that because they didn’t have enough. Now they are saying we need them.

    1. Because they’re starting to mass produce them. Once they have enough there won’t be any more needs for quarentines once everyone has a mask.

    2. Cro Boy Why the U.S. sent masks to China? That’s where they’re made look on eBay most sellers of masks are in China?

  12. For most people who’ve never worn a mask, they’d have no idea how annoying they are to wear, they can be hot, feel constricting & you constantly have to fight the urge to fidget with them, something health care workers on general try their best to avoid doing.

For the general public though many of them, will touch the mask all the time without thinking about it, and when you touch them, you spread what may be on your fingers, closer to your eyes, nose & mouth, all portals of entry for the virus, and then because they’re now on the mask, they stay there until the ‘surface life’ of the virus has elapsed, and the surface life will be different depending on what type of mask you use.

Also on principle the best use for the masks is to stop the infected spreading droplets of CoV19 & to potentially save the lives of those fighting the virus on the front line.

Stay safe everyone ❤️🕯 from Lockdown in NZ 🇳🇿

    1. VioletSkye19 – I would rather not die or give it to my loved ones. I will wear a mask 24 hrs a day! And I am in the frontline. See homemade masks, people. It cuts the spread by 50%. Everyone should be wearing masks!!!!!

    1. @truc – Trump is an easy scapegoat but to put the blame entirely on him would be wholly inaccurate. I say that as a non fan of T, not a supporter.

    2. @Buster Wranks He first received some intelligence evidence in January… and called it an “hoax”in March…
Just because it does not fit his point of view/opinion.

He is the POTUS… he is responsible for all the late answers we have right now.
If he decided earlier, we could have saved more people (ask the italian)

    3. @truc – Oh I’m well aware. I’m not saying he’s in the least bit innocent. I’m saying he’s not the lone guilty party. I’m not aware of the WHO or the CDC etc. sending down a recommendation for him to act. If you are aware of such a recommendation being made, that he threw in the can, obviously it would be on him. I would certainly appreciate being pointed toward that information if you know where to find it.

    4. @truc muche In January (14th) the WHO told us that there was no evidence of “person to person transmission”. FWIW, if action plans were made based on that kind of information out of the biggest health organization in the world, we’re in trouble.

  13. Everyone should wear a mask so their spit doesnt get onto the other person. S. Korea had everyone wear masks.

    1. It wasn’t too long ago that the government told us we didn’t need them.. I remember CNN telling us they wouldn’t do anything to help us.. Lol

    2. @Yumie Hodge Yumie, the big difference is in some countries they are allowing the kn95 mask to be used. They are not allowing these masks to be imported into the United States. The only ones we are allowed to use are the N95, N99, R’s and the P100’s, etc… The highest standard are usually those made by 3M. They are using the KN95 masks In Korea/China, etc… Which is why we see so many of them wearing these makes. If we allowed these KN95 masks to be imported, then everyone would have a mask for sure. The other issue is there are companies making ” FAKE ” masks as well. The big reason why they are not allowing the KN95 makes to be used in the medical setting is because of lawsuits. If Nurses/Physicians were using these KN95 masks and came down with the virus, they could sue the hospital saying the masks were faulty, etc… Truth be told, medical staff should only be wearing the P100 masks as those allow for an airtight seal around the face and prevent 99.97%++ of airborne particles (lipids/non-lipid particles) from entering the mask. As Dr. Fauci pointed out, what is important is that the mask is worn correctly.

    3. Listen, if you have some masks at your home and you need to go out for groceries or something essentially important then wear them. No sense in getting sick or getting others sick if you can prevent it.
