You have to be one step ahead of the Covid, now we have it randomly mutating in carriers, but if I you’re not vaccinated you can get sicker longer, the people themselves are the unknown quantity.
Breakthrough infections on the rise, and also putting kids at risk for a variant that gets them…the virus will gravitate towards the most receptive hosts. We need to be a LOT more than one step ahead of it. The US (like Israel) did not put enough time between the first and second vaccines. Those of us who did the 100 days are doing better. This is what happens when idiots and politicians make the decisions rather than experts. We need a “war-time” authority to deal with this. I am for mandatory vaccines…I am philosophically against this, but the unvaccinated put us all at risk by raising the opportunity for the virus to transmit…and mutate. I will be happily wearing a mask for a looong time. Because I don’t want to be a carrier (even if I am protected against major disease) and I think it will benefit my community. My freedom be further limited socially because of this because I am immune compromised. Just blows me away everyone spouting off about their “freedom”.
How would you know? Dr. Moreau tell you?
I wouldn’t mind a variant which killed off the stupid who put the rest of us at risk by not getting the vaccine.
The reality is that delta originated from India. India could have been more highly vaccinated but us patient laws stopped that.

The problem @gljm 1159, is that mutations develop when you give a virus time to multiply, which is more likely to happen in people with a severe infection. Since delta is exceptionally virulent, the seriously ill may pass on a more dangerous variant than delta before they die.
Besides, wishing severe Covid-19 on your political enemy is morally bankrupt and sounds like something the x-president would come up with. Is that who you are?

I have a neighbor that refuses to get the vaccine. She has been a volunteer at the Senior Center and Food Pantry in our small community. However, she cannot work in these two places, now, because she hasn’t been vaccinated. I was happy to hear that these two places that serve elderly and homeless people, who are not in good health, have set strong rules to protect their patrons.
I’m following my doctor’s advice: Am fully vaccinated, & donning an effective mask when indoors with other people whose vaccination status I do not know.
I’m fully vaccinated, but I don’t give a toot if I get an A-symptomatic case of it and then pass it on to 500 anti-vaxers because I am going to refuse to wear a mask. They made their beds and can sleep in them.

Since you are issued a CDC card for your jab(s), best that the state offer a voluntary but vetted system to log it.

My country of residence is the Dominican Republic and I’m proud of their handling of COVID. Their vaccination rate is now higher than that of the USA, despite a later start. My wife and I have been vaccinated twice with Sinovac. The following week we get a booster, thus the 3rd vaccination for the delta variant. We are beating the US Banana Republic 🙂 🙂

It’s never been confusing to me since Mar 2020. I’m vaccinated and I wear a mask ANYTIME and ANYWHERE I’m in public.
If it mutates into something more lethal, is being unvaccinated really worth the risk ? If it does this combined with evading the current vaccines God Help Us 🙏❤️🙏
