Escalation: Trump Response To Impeachment Probe Courts ‘Constitutional Crisis’ | MSNBC

Foreign Policy Expert David Rothkopf joins The Beat to discuss Trump’s attempt to stonewall key evidence and witnesses in the impeachment inquiry. Rothkopf argues Trump is ‘playing a game’ by saying he ‘doesn’t believe in the legitimacy of the Congress’ and ‘past precedent’ to impeach the President. Rothkopf adds Trump’s blatant attempt to defy the probe, as stated in the White House’s newly released letter, will result in the Constitution being ‘tested’ by the ‘Court’ or by ‘Congress taking action’ and putting somebody ‘in jail.’ Aired on 10/8/19.

    1. @nunya business No matter what language is say it in the clown car better known as the democratic can’t didates have absolutely Zero chance

    2. @Paul Belardo you’re backing a dead horse . Donald Trump Republicans begged several foreign hostile governments live on national TV moron

  1. Has anyone else noticed that the amount of subscribers for MSNBC has increased by a couple thousand in these past few weeks??? lol this impeachment inquiry is hot stuff!!

    1. @Paul Belardo blah blah blah are those really the best comments you got your talking but not saying anything………ahh it’s come to me ……your a hillbilly yes that’s it, explains it

    1. May be because I’m british I missing something?? A whistle blower said he did it, he admitted he did it, he released a document saying he did it, his lawyer said he was asked to facilitate it, he said he wants another country to do it as well…where’s the discussion on his guilt come in??

    2. @andrew30 …when he (they) realize he had no right to do it.
….we will call this …A Few Bad Men

    3. @andrew30 Waiting for public opinion to shift enough for Republican senators to vote to boot him out of office.

  2. The presidential duty is to the people, the nation, and the office.
Not party, not the president themselves,, and definitely not to foreign interest.

    1. @Toraguchi Toraguchi I don’t even care about hunter or this conspiracy, hunter is not the president. Just trying to help your president distract, I get it. You really should think about using factual information, it may be more effective? Good luck

    2. @Sean Steele Exactly! You don’t care about what the Bidens did wrong, as I don’t give a toss what Trump supposedly did wrong.😁🖕

  3. A State Department lawyer told Vox that Secretary of
State Mike Pompeo or Trump don’t have the right to stop Sondland from
testifying. That makes sense, as a 1912 federal law
stipulates “[t]he right of employees, individually or collectively, to
petition Congress or a Member of Congress, or to furnish information to
either House of Congress, or to a committee or Member thereof, may not
    be interfered with or denied.”

    1. We can only hope we have reached a tipping point. There’s ample support based on trumps own admission.

      They have repeatedly demonstrated obstruction.

      They have motive.

      They have witnesses.

They have confessions of advanced knowledge of illegality.

If this were a court case, it would be the perfect case, where all the events are known. It is a joke that we need this much before people start breaking rank.

  4. Too many wimps in Washington. I’ve said that since George Bush 2 when no one would challenge Republicans on the notion that Iraq was responsible for 911.

    1. At the heart of all this is white Christian extremism. Yes, there’s the greed, the dishonesty, the complete lack of integrity and the hypocrisy we have come to expect from Americans but this current fascist express is powered by white Christian extremism.

    2. @Jim Battersbee religion has nothing to do with it makes me laugh when Americans go on about Christianity like everything else Americans bastardise

    3. @Densum 81
I think white Christian extremism is what is driving this circus and ‘religion’ has everything to do with it.

    1. @p lr 000 is the Emergency Services phone number in Australia. I would say that trump warrants an emergency response, and it is long overdue.

    1. Should’ve locked up Lewandowski after his display for contempt of congress right at the end of the day would’ve made the MAGAts poop their pants

    2. @Victor Estrada Yes. If Congress doesn’t start grabbing these rats by the scruff of the neck, the impeachment enquiry will become a joke.

  5. Really? Did we not know they were going to do this!!? If they don’t starting putting these stonewallers behind bars then we are GOING to lose this battle and god knows what!

  6. Why does the POTUS and his administration use Twitter to run our country? Twitter Troll tRump ready to throw Rudy under the bus. Scoot over Michael Cohen

  7. Pretty sure they decided to block Sundland from testifying after they asked him if he would lie to protect the president, and he said no.

    1. @Ted Fritz So…why not let him testify since this administration is so ‘ transparent ‘ according to trump

    2. Sondland gave a million dollars to Trump’s campaign and that’s how he got the Ukraine gig.
While Sondland could be counted on to quietly do Trump’s dirty work behind the scenes he can’t be counted on to hold up under the intense scrutiny of a public inquiry as he has no job knowledge and no credentials to hold his position, he will likely crumble and expose himself glaringly to the nation and the world for the political hack he is. Giuliani and the GOP, on the other hand, will go full drama queen relying entirely on the basest of human emotions rather than facts..Trump is truly the ‘Lord of the Flies’.

  8. If this was happening in any developing country the media in the the West will be singing the song of corruption, dictatorship, evil, everyday and more.Great shame on America

    1. Knowing some hiphop artist is usually no requirement to appear as an political expert on tv… Ari proves with his permanent quotes (and his insistence that his guests bring those quotes, too) that he’s no journalist.

    2. @O. B. Yup .. I’m all for Taking Trump out …but Ari’s infantile compulsion to always equate all things to hip hop references is just a clear sign he should get a job on the “View” …and get out of the news business …

  9. Ok dems! Less talk, more action. Start making arrests for contempt. We all know what trump is doing. Dems, get some spine and pull the carpet from under trump’s feet. He will fall.
