European Union suspects ‘sabotage’ in Nord Stream pipeline explosion | USA TODAY

A series of explosions caused leaks on two gas pipelines that feed natural gas from Russia to Germany.

Two underwater explosions, or shakings, were recorded in the Baltic Sea shortly before leaks were found in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which were pressurized with natural gas. Both pipelines were not operational.

The first shaking, measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale, was recorded southeast of Bornholm, a Danish island, the Guardian reported, citing Denmark's Geological Survey. The second, with a magnitude 2.1 earthquake, was reported northeast of the island.

    1. @That one Asian looking Mexican if it didn’t happen the same month, week, let alone DAY as this “sabotage,” it wouldn’t matter.

    2. @Tom Henry but why or how would that force Germany to buy from Norway? The pipe isn’t going from Norway to Germany. Plus the Russian pipe wasn’t in use either. Germany stopped buying oil and gas in the first month of the Ukraine/Russian War.

    3. @That one Asian looking Mexican I don’t know where you got the idea that Germany hasn’t been buying Russian Gas, they were signing all kinds of emergency measures to take place if Putin didn’t start the pipeline back up after the Summer maintenance scheduled shutdown in July

  1. So……………. the long dark winter Joe promised was referring to Europe. He said there would be no pipeline 6 months and “poof” no pipeline

    1. I remember the mean orange man warning europe and germany about relying on russia for energy; he was scoffed at and made fun of. There was even a screaming match and people called him an idiot….he was 100% correct. Hashtag trump was right

  2. He said 7 months ago he would do it if tanks and troops rolled over the border. I’m not buying the earthquake stuff for a second.

    1. @Jew seismic wave is not only exclusive to earthquake activity. If enough explosives are buried subsurface and when they are set off, it can cause enough vibration very much similar to an earthquake so I am not particularly surprised that seismic wave has been registered and btw which country will benefit the most when the Nord stream pipelines are destroyed? Let’s all put our thinking hats on and seriously contemplate! Lol

    2. @snakeinthegra$$ k I think it is more than that. This way EU will not be able to cave and make a deal with Russia when the winter is here. Right now it appeared the pipe line is permanently shut down what US always wanted.

    3. @DDUB oh I absolutely agree with you on that. This has always had to do with that. The cold war never ended. We’ve just manipulated European and middle eastern countries to fight proxy wars with Russia. Which is why Putin wanted Crimea back for crops and would like all of Ukraine so it is fully boarded with our allies AND has his warm water ports back. I’m not picking sides, but I understand why he would want back certain parts of the former USSR and why the US doesn’t want him to have it.

    1. @Ash Ketchup Nah, seems too convenient for the Russians. Just days after Germany nationalizes Gazproms assets in Germany, then the biggest asset going into Germany is irreparably damaged?

    2. @Nathan Cochran What does that even mean? Russia would have sold gas, now it’s going into the atmosphere as a total loss and you are so brilliant you suspect Russia blew up their own profitable sales? Really?

    3. @Mitch Williams Why not? After all they invaded Ukraine and blew up their own profitable sales wayyyy more than this did

    4. @Mitch Williams  this is definitely the U.S.’s doing or one of their proxy’s in the region. Russia depends on energy for their economy. They need money to fund their war. No natural gas moving equals less funds for weapons and supplies in the brutal winter months. The U.S. has the most to gain by disrupting the pipelines. And Bidumb and his regime/military industrial complex are just dumb enough to do this and start World War 3.

  3. So Russia; payed, built and controlled the valves for nord stream 1 & 2. They are destroyed the same day the Baltic pipeline goes online. Just connect the dots here people. The only question I have is are we the baddies?

    1. Let Russia build expensive gas pipelines, which is hard to do, to the east to become China’s vassal state. It’s for the good of Europe to wean off Russian fossil fuels. This pipeline explosion is a blessing, long term.

    2. @Ray Lopez the immediate long term effects could be Russia see’s this as an act of terror and seek to retaliate while germany see’s this as a deliberate attack from America to its people’s survival. Europe may take a step back to see america as the reason Ukraine is at war to begin with. its getting cold and those people are paying attention to everything and everyone that’s keeping them worried about being warm this winter.

    3. @Senninha mcl Nordstream 2 is incomplete and was in limbo whether it was going to be pushed forward or not. Biden was referring to canceling the project.

  4. Look at this this way: With the pipeline destroyed citizens in European Nations no longer have the ability to pressure their governments to push for peace so that they can heat their homes this winter.

Unrest in regards to rising gas prices have been going up, and that unrest would have put a lot of governments at risk of withdrawing their support for Ukraine in order to get Russian gas flowing again. Now that’s no longer an issue. Who does this ultimately benefit? That’s the real question isn’t it?

    1. Remember, we (the U.S.) ship Liquified Natural Gas to Europe. This was definitely the Bidumb regimes doing. Bidummy finally did something he promised he’d do. Not something the American people needed or wanted, but something the elites/deep state/energy industry and military industrial complex wanted. It all makes perfect sense if you really think about it. This isn’t going to end well if the Bidumb regime did sabotage the Russian pipelines. We don’t need another World War right now. It would definitely end in the destruction of Earth and civilization as we know it. Yes, the uber wealthy with their underground luxury condos/fallout shelters would survive, but that would be it. And how long could they survive underground? And is it really worth it? 🤔

  5. “Leaks” that we immediately preceded by 2 explosions that showed up on seismic equipment. Riiiight.

  6. Imagine if you didn’t pay your water bill and they decided to quit sending you water. Do you think they would blow their pipe up or just turn the valve off?

    1. @Long John You’re a conspiracy theory genius! Wow! In a time of war, they’re going to worry about turning off the valve? 😂🤣 Let me tell you a little secret Long…you ready? Their only hope of winning the war is based on their gdp. Can you guess where Russia makes the majority of their income? It’s not fentanyl, that would be Mexican cartels. It’s not prostitution, Long. It’s not IT. Hmmmmm? It’s that stuff bubbling out of the ocean and polluting our atmosphere!!! 😛🤡🤡

    2. @Mitch Williams for at this moment I could believe that you think it was all a big accident; and That, Mitch … is asinine.

    3. @Mitch Williams you’d probably say asinine is the fact that I’m on Putin’s side, but in reality, that’s just your asinine opinion

Ukraine supplies 30% of all child sex slaves trafficked globally.

    4. @Lenny j It was no accident, Lenny. It was the Biden Administration, would be my guess based on his comments in February. He may be just parroting what he is told to say and do, but someone that pulls his strings told him to make the threat that if Russia invaded Ukraine, there would be no more Nord Stream pipeline. Pretty damn good guess!

    5. @Long John seems to make sense. You just know the law but not politics and survival. Sanctioning Russian currency or confiscation of personal property? These have already been done. There is no need for a country to do superfluous things. It is too difficult for European countries, their leaders know who did it but can’t say it, it’s really sad and helpless, really Worry for those Europeans who are still guessing. Political wars are no fun, they just want to live better

  7. Done so well that there will be a complete transfer of gas to seawater and the extreme decompression will render the pipeline structurally compromised therefore they will need to build a completely new one. Not a quick fix. This will disrupt the European energy catastrophically

  8. ABC News (2/7/2022):
Pres. Biden: “If Russia invades…then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.”
Reporter: “But how will you do that, exactly, since…the project is in Germany’s control?”
Biden: “I promise you, we will be able to do that.”
