Examining The ‘Herd Immunity’ Question: How The U.S. Can Get Back To Normal | All In | MSNBC

“Even though we still have this incredibly important of needing to reach people who so far don’t want to get vaccinated—life is going to return to normal. People who are vaccinated are going to feel the sense of freedom to partake in all sorts of activities much more safely,” says Dr. Jennifer Nuzzo.

    1. Yup. The vaccine is free for all now. You can even go to your local grocery store and get one.

    2. Probably need to set up an appointment but yes 100% free regardless of insurance. Google sites in your area. Got my first Moderna and go for my second on the 19th

  1. Number of people dead from Covid-19 vaccine = 0.
Number dead from Covid-19 = millions.
    Math is hard.

  2. Seems that people get a sense of power from being spoilers, being the group that prevents stuff from happening, like reaching herd immunity.

    1. Still Real, in the USA we have a constitution that protects us from people like you. The reason Trump and Biden didn’t impose such penalties is because doing so would be unconstitutional.

It’s sad there are so many people in this country that are willing to dismiss the Bill of Rights for the sake of convenience.

    2. @ItsStillRealToMe DamnIt
It is not the government that will impose mandates. Businesses will do that – airlines, employers, concert venues, etc.

    3. Take you’re own advice, how dare you believe you have the right to force other people to take an experimental vaccine, if somebody chooses not to partake in the trials then you need to respect that not shove your own choices down their throats. If the government can’t work out a plan for everybody and respect everybody’s wishes then this is no longer a free country.

    4. @ruth depew What a stupid thing to say, if you are vaccinated how can somebody who isn’t vaccinated be a threat to you.

    5. @ItsStillRealToMe DamnIt Then don’t proclaim you have a free country if you are willing to punish others for excising their own freedom of choice, what a horrible person you are, no doubt the type to rat out your own mother if you thought it would give you brownie points with the herd.

    1. @Doob Snackz But if businesses people frequent without masks have to close down because workers are contracting COVID from customers, it’s back to square one because businesses will close again.

  3. I think the next vaccine that gets authorization should cost the recipients at least $100. If you have to pay for it, it has to be the best one. Right.

  4. Me: “Nah I ain’t gonna get my vaccine”

Connecticut: You can have a beer

    Me: *YYYYYAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS!!!!*

    1. do you think we see a downside to more of you anti-vaxxers dropping dead from a preventable disease….🤣

      have at it.

  5. Consider this, Big Pharma makes money in vaccines but bigger money on treatingnew cases. Notice the AMA is largely quiet.

    1. @Jerry P maybe the cigarettes protected your lungs… you should double down and smoke more often 👍

    2. @Jock Young Unfortunately for others it’s a big deal when they die from the side effects.

  6. Some of us will have herd immunity and we’ll be blamed when the Qnuts get sick and start dying.. oh well 🤷‍♂️

    1. @Big Boomer What do you mean some of you will have herd immunity? You know how vaccines work right?

    2. @Thyalwaysseek there are places with week long waiting list to get vaccinated but other place where they cant give it away… they are going to have more outbreaks in those places and the maga/anons are going to come up with some deep conspiracy to blame us for their ignorance…

Sorry if that wasn’t clear but I was trying to keep it down to one or two sentences

    3. tbh it still sucks…even if ill be pretty safe, the MAGAites wont be and theyll get sick, use hospitable beds, waste tax dollars, etc. Maybe some people I know will die. Its stupid.

  7. Hmmm, my TO DO LIST, live virus free or possibly die or be impaired in brain, heart, lung functions indefinitely.

I think I’d make getting vaccinated a priority. Oh wait, I did!

  8. The problem is that while science does create amazing advances in pharmaceuticals, the company’s themselves are driven not by people who care and want to help but by profit margins. This has eroded many amaricans trust in the motives of said company’s. It does not help when company’s charge us 10 times more than what they charge other country’s to be healthy just because they can, or leaked sales calls of execs chomping at the bit to give out covid boosters because they will get to raise the price. Why would people think what is being put in them is actually ment to help??

  9. I’m completely vaccinated and so happy I did my husband did too! He’s a Republican I’m a Democrat it wasn’t a political issue it was we don’t want to get sick and possibly die we have a 3 year old granddaughter that we want to be around for a long time
