  1. Fareed’s argument is practically a meme: “Scandinavia used to be on the left, but today they are good Capitalists and flourishing.” OK then, let’s just copy the policies they have today. “ No, that’s socialism!“

    1. @democrats are pedos Yea you’re a “Dane” with the name “Democrats are Pedos”. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure, wow you right-wingers are getting really pathetically easy to spot.

    2. Basically Fareed is saying that these Northern European countries are actually moving away from
their democratic socialist ideas and are becoming more of a capitalist free market society as time
      moves forward.

    3. @LibertyStormFast well here in the uk, we are going the opposite way slowly as the government is trying to resist taking ownership but we keep forcing their hand the two big wins was forcing the government to re nationalise northern rail and kick northern rail out. and forcing them to take back ownership of the post office. huge wins, against a government hostile to it and talking about getting some utilities re nationalised too.

    4. @democrats are pedos At no point will anyone take you seriously if you call Bernie a Commie. Same with the screen name. You are the internet equivalent of a crazy hobo standing on the corner talking to himself.

    1. abc because “Alt” is so much better. Yea, yea.
The Alt Right is a cancer, and the Alt Left is precancerous.

    2. @AA_MATH_Channel some thing is wrong with your head, there is no “poor billionaires”. Do you socialist Bernie Bros has brain?

  2. This does not mirror what it’s like to live in these countries. The flex-security model is extremely effective because it makes it possible for companies to increase and decrease their workforce quickly without it regard to the worker’s economic situation. This works very well for both employers and employees.

Regarding income tax – the median income in Denmark is $47950 and the average taxation of the median income is 36.4%. This includes health care, education, social security, and paid maternity leave. In order to compare it with American taxation, you must include the costs of healthcare insurance, other end-user paid healthcare costs and the costs of education.

If you earn more than $78.100 you pay 15% additional tax of the income over that amount. The marginal tax (tax paid of extra earned income) is 52%, not 55%, and it’s not 52% tax of all of your income, only of the income above the limit. And honestly, if you earn more than $75.000 per year, you are definitely not middle class.

But admitted – we pay a lot in tax, but we feel that we get a lot of good things for our money. We have the best social security in the world, no one ends up with medical debt, our kids can get high-quality education regardless of social status and we are one of the happiest countries in the world.

But here is the thing; everything costs money and Americans have the same needs as Danes and Swedes, so you end up buying the same thing as we do, the only difference is how each of us pays for it and of course the price and quality of the services we buy. At the end of the day, you end up paying at least the same for the same service as we do.

You don’t have to do it the same way as we do, and I’m sure Bernie Sanders will know how to adapt the systems and ideas to the American conditions and way of life.

And by the way – this video clearly debunks the socialist talking points. We are capitalists and we are pretty good at being it.

    1. Thank you for debunking the CNN misinformation campaign. Fareed is clearly reading from cue cards placed in front of his face.

    1. @Richard Lee North Korea and Cuba are close but, the only reason they are lagging behind is because of us. Cuba opened up but then Thump closed it again.
North Korea is more of a Dictatorship and wants to open up. The only reason we don’t let them is because the Dictator is a MAD MAN. China is sorta Socialist but, you can’t tell if you look at their wealthy folks. We are a Oligarchy. Democracy is almost dead. The Republic has been purchased. Bernie Sanders is the last best chance to save our Democracy.

The current Fascist Dictator Wannabe in the Oval Office needs another term to complete the destruction of our Democracy. He only has one more piece of the puzzle to go; THE MILITARY.
HOPEFULLY our Military will stick with our Constitution. As you know…the Republicans in the Senate have not. It was no surprise to me or most people. Republicans don’t believe in Democracy and they only truly believe in one Amendment to the Constitution these days.

America is on it’s last leg.

      Go Bernie!

    2. @Daniel Lindy 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 In the Western World only Teflon Don knows if Lil Kim has a butthole. After all… they are in love❤ 😉

    3. @Tijan before you make a blanket statement you might want to actually look up the numbers. Iceland unemployment rate at the end of 2019 was 3.5 Sweden’s was just over six and Denmark’s was 5.3. And Norway’s is 3.9

    4. @Billy Akin comrade Bernie Castro will close US economy by turning it into a protectionist economy and destroy the value of the Dollar by printing trillions of Dollar every year which will certainly trigger hyperinflation. That ain’t no democracy, its geriatric stupidity of a 78 y.o. narcissistic dotard. Comrade Bernie Castro belongs in geriatric asylum.

  3. Bro what’s the percentage of those income earners actually filling for income. Rich people revenue aren’t income, they are investment and therefore have a different taxes bracket. Stop picking few stats to make your argument as media you should put both for and against stats and let people make their choice instead of showing your opinions down people throats

    1. Passive income is known as capital gains and has been taxed several times over. If you like what you have you don’t go socialist.

  4. Oh so let’s vote to keep the system just as it is, because it’s really working so well for all of us 🙄

    1. I am a young legal immigrant from Germany. The US works amazingly well for people who apply themselves and invested in a useful education. Maybe the first useful step against poverty is to stop the importation of low skilled/welfare immigration and telling low IQ students the lie that they need to get a degree in sports marketing management or grievance studies because the bloated education system or Democrat run local goverment will always provide you with a taxpayer funded job to root out a lack of diversity at the fire department .

    2. Its working for everyone that doesnt have a degree on social sciences and gender studies….

    1. I should have known but their was a part of me thinking this guy won’t do a hit job too. I was wrong.

    1. Of course corporate America is afraid of him, he wants to turn America into Venezuela and that’s just bad for business!

    2. @Joe V Honestly don’t want to say too much or put any good ideas into the mob of Russian (etc) troll heads (pretend ‘Canadians’, faux Bernie Bros, etc, etc) all over every consequential thread you look…

🕶️ Speaking of which (and non-communist Komrads being tarred and feathered…), part of me wishes we could all read and speak Russian – and the public social media there here and now. Guaranteed these bilingual troll armies – while seeming to revel in their divisive BS here and now (AIMING TO UNDERMINE OUR OPEN, CIVIL SOCIETIES) are A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT LESS UNINHIBITED in their mother tongues.

      # big brother is watching

    3. @Charles Berry Two things – (1) If I’m not mistaken those are entirely popular vote polls. (i.e. don’t factor-in the electoral college, nor the standard, divisive, dark money GOP + Swing States strategy.) And some of the conversations around the midwest / heartland are so far a lot less reassuring re socialism vs pragmatism – and the demonization of free market wealth.

Also similarly (2) as far as I can tell it’s entirely unclear to anyone (but the Russians and or their would-be GOP Dark Money counterparts) how much of Bern’s “passionate grass roots” is actually totally shot through with Russian + MAGA fraudsters here and now: Hoping to pull the rug out sharply when if he wins the nomination.

… Nor how strong his appeal is with the average **voter** – particularly that decisive 10 or 15% in the electoral swing-state margins – once the Billion Dollar Koch Bros (plus tens of billions Putin–FSB) troll armies are fully engaged in the general.

i.e. I like him a lot. **BUT** I’ve yet to see convincing evidence that he can ignite and unite the full range of Democratic (MODERATE, BASE, & SOME SWING voters) that, as Rahm Emanual has been saying lately, has been **required to win basically every big Democratic presidential election of the last 100 years.**

(Perhaps he’s better than Biden, Warren and a few others… 🕶️ And obviously light years better than Komrad Turdwad in Chief. But iyam there are at least a few other quite-likable candidates still standing who I could sorta see doing WAY BETTER in the electoral college: uniting the WIDEST POSSIBLE COALITION **for the sort of decisive win the moment seems to demand.** )

      🤞🏻 … ✌🏻

    1. @Non SJW Progressive lol. Doesn’t Bernie call himself socialist? Lol. 🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅

    2. @Non SJW Progressive Yes he is. He is a self-proclaimed socialist. Just because he isn’t calling for full-on socialism doesn’t mean he isn’t one. Eliminating private healthcare and replacing it with government healthcare is a socialistic policy.

    1. @Ditto bernie takes from the wealthy for the needy, trump takes from the needy for the wealthy.
Bernie is and intellectual, trump is gold-laden donkey

    2. @ensofit21 your Bernie Bros’ trade mark comments is that they contain zero substance. And yes, I am talking about you, zip, zero, you have NO substance. Typing would waste too much of my time. C/p is best for brainwashed socialists like you. 👍

    3. @Richard Lee funny, you’ve typed numerous times already. I’m amazed a robot can appear to make decisions for itself. Even defending itself. I didn’t post the same comment to numerous threads. You did. Just because I pointed that out and you caught feelings and don’t really know how to respond is on you. So go take yourself back to Reddit or whatever site you copy your responses from and try again. I’m not even political I just don’t like establishment media and people with nothing to add to the conversation, like you. Bye Felicia.

  5. It’s almost like his argument was written by someone with billionaires’ interests in mind… 😂

    1. @Guillaume Noire comrade Bernie Castro’s wealth tax starts at $32 million, which will not tax his own net worth wealth of around $3 million. Crooked socialist politicians like Sanders SHOULD NOT EXIST!

    2. @DGAMING being honest on liberal media is against policy .
give the president credit for accomplishments ? oh hell no ! attack . Lie . Slander . Get sued for 275.000.000 for lying and lose .
      Lie .attack some more .
Then cry like babies when people fight back . pull out the bag ol tired worn out insults . FAIL .

  6. I’m from Denmark.
And this so called analysis is misinformation.
You can always make numbers fit your agenda.

At the end of the day my country is – and has been for about a hundred years – a prosperous, well-educated, free, happy and just society where (almost) no one is left behind.
It’s foundation: A free but regulated market, strong unions, parlamentarism, progressive taxes and a dense social safety net.
This society has primarily been implemented by politicians calling themselves social democrats (or democratic socialists if you like).

    1. @Aquarius Inyourface Typical of your filthy Fascist kind.. “My way or the highway”. Did you ever consider that there are Liberals like me who’d happily see your kind exterminated?

    2. @David Heigl *punches you in the mouth with brass knuckles, shattering your teeth* Gonna have a hard time yelling “Fake News” now, aren’t ya?

    3. @Eddie Blake little fucker you gotta learn how to speak I have no idea what in the hell you’re trying to say.

    4. @American Pie Your an idiot. First that´s a myth with no facts behind it. You can look it up. Second, wrong country, it´s an old myth about sweden not denmark.

    5. @American Pie You are bringing up a myth and you have the wrong country too. The myth is well known and it´s about sweden. You can look it up if you want.

  7. US did the same in the 80s and 90s. It’s just that it went too far, the greed took over and politicians sold out to the highest bidder.
