Florida vs. California: How Two States Tackled Covid-19 | MTP Daily | MSNBC
LOL. You can’t trust Florida’s official stats at all. We know DeSantis under tested and under reported the totals.
Hey, why don’t you just compare excess death year over year(all deaths, including covid)? Florida is +19% California +28%. Then compare Unemployment rate CA: 9.3(and rising)% Fl: 6.1%(dropping vastly). Florida has the oldest population(Maine doesn’t count) whereas CA is the 5th youngest. (42 years old vs 35 years old) Lockdown and mask mandates is the worst public policy in modern history, only exceeded by slavery and reconciliation. Look at the harm we have done to our kids and how much we have torn our societal fabric with all the business closures. America is build on small businesses which provides employment to 49.2% of the private sector. NOT everything is about covid. Move on.

Excuse me but .There are multiple reports from credible news outlets of COVID-19 deaths in the State of Florida being UNDER REPORTED from as early as APRIL 2020, and of Governor DeSantis offices DIRECTLY being involved in preventing releasing relevant data from HOSPITALS and NURSING HOMES in regards to TESTING and DEATHS from these facilities.

A comparison makes no sense because it assumes everyone in California followed the States orders. Some didn’t and that was more than enough for the pandemic to spread.
Yep. Sad, but true. There are a lot more anti-science Trumpists in CA, than people realize. Of CA voters registered by party, only 60% are Democrats. There are also many rural & wealthy areas that are traditionally Republican.

The death rate per population was about the same, but the death rate per number of cases was higher in Florida: 1.7% in Florida and 1.5% in California. One would also have to look at the variants affecting both states.

Compare to 9% unemployment. Kids not in schools. Businesses closed. 5th youngest population. 29th in deaths per million and climbing

Explain this. Florida residents love their Governor and he’s being talked about as a presidential candidate. California residents loathe their Governor and he’s about to be recalled. No talk of a continued political career for him.
