  1. So, they’re fixing the inflation issue by printing more money? Awesome, what could go wrong?

    1. So your preference is zero spending and (perhaps) rely solely on rising interest rates, possibly spending cuts, and attrition? Or would you prefer something else?

    2. @Hyperpandas Yes that is roughly the only solution. Slash the public service, cut taxes, eliminate corporate welfare, re-establish commodity backed currency. the list goes on.

    3. @Fizzyx13 Whoa, how does cutting taxes make sense when the question is how to deal with inflation?

    4. @Hyperpandas Printing money to combat inflation is what the Weimar government tried. I don’t think I need to tell you how that went.

    1. @Yotaciv don’t worry. Bank of Canada owner is part of her tribe. One hand helps the other as they say….coincidence….

    1. Worse. She is taking one out on your kids name, and their kids name. That is who will ultimately pay.

  2. Yes print more money!!! That will definitely help with inflation says the finance minister with a degree in journalism. Wow, only in Canada…

    1. And zero understanding of economics other than Keynesian theory which is why we’re in the mess we are.

  3. So a senior in QC would get 2,000 more a year… Muahahaha ..is this suppose to be a joke ? This senior still has to pay tax on it and gas price is still going up. Politicians are so out of touch with the common folks.

    1. @Codeman lol okay then. Just because the news hasn’t told you it’s a recession yet then it isn’t.

  4. So… just so I understand. They are going to fix inflation by printing more money? That breaks my brain.

  5. When you use words like “could, estimate, and might” is when you ask your parents for something and they say “we’ll see” which usually means “no”. How do you expect me to believe anything you say?

  6. Freeland needs to answer questions about the illegally invoked emergency act

  7. I love how she opens by saying no country is to blame nor the cause, the quickly points out China’s zero covid policy and Russia’s war. These are the best trick of the hand, illusion speak ever. Quick of hand speak that circles around problems and seeks to over justify why citizens suffer.

  8. Freeland needs to be held accountable and justly prosecuted to the full extent of the law .

    1. @Brent Hastings Thats not true, she has Canada’s best interests at heart and is doing everything she can to ensure our prosperity continues.

    2. @LAN CABLE you for now are free to believe in whatever, she does not get trust or bank account
