GOP congressman to Republicans: What is going on?

Congressman Denver Riggleman, an outgoing Republican from Virginia, condemned the "contagion of disinformation" and criticized members of his party who supported an unprecedented lawsuit seeking to overturn President Donald Trump's election defeat despite there being no evidence of widespread fraud.

    1. @phunkyCW no it did not make all of the changes the other states did, and, Texas DID follow their own laws after passing them, which the other states did not do.
The other states brazenly and knowingly violated their own laws

    2. @I’m hidin from Biden you’re correct..scotus will decide..oh wait..they just did..😂😂😂😂nope..no go..didn’t even want to hear the case bc they know its lies lies illegal moves lies and sedition..and 126 congress n senate need to now be removed from their seats..and according to the constitution they most certainly can..

    1. Power corrupts. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely. You all need to look to your history books to realise what is happening. Everything negative that has been said about trump is true. Let that sink in then recognise his followers intention becomes clear.

    1. @efs 1066 I misunderstood your post reading quickly. Thought you were criticizing the congressman for performing a gay marriage. That’s why I said “so what.” Now I get your point.

    1. @Tammy I’m not a democrat, but trump is a clear threat to democracy, my allegiance is to the Constitution and democracy.

    2. I am a moderate independent. I have voted both Republican and Democrat. I cannot in good conscience vote for another Republican until the party cleans house.

    3. @Lerch 2013 Because Clinton is a crook and an evil lady. She abandoned people in the middle east, not helping them, and leaving them for dead. What about her illegal e-mails? She should be locked up, but she has wiggled herself out of it.

    4. @Colby Moore Free speech is free speech. Just because you don’t agree with something or think it’s stupid, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be allowed. I think a lot of what Biden voters say is pretty stupid, but they should be allowed to say what they want.

    1. @Hard Rocker no one changed voters law’s. States have the right to do as they see fit as long as it doesn’t violate the Federal law. and the federal law says elections must be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November, you cannot violate anyone’s right to vote based on race pre-colored religion but sexual preference. Every 10 years of boundary must be redrawn to represent the amount of people or the increase of people in a district. Other than that States can do as they please.

    1. @Alexis Mitchell Com’on now, Trump has been VERY clear about what he planned to do if he lost the election. I don’t remember ANY of this people speaking up a few months ago when Trump was saying..”this would be the most corrupt election in history!”…They have had plenty of time to shut this foolishness down. They did not!! No one cares what they have to say now!!!

    2. @1sand0s I wonder if they can all be tried for sedition.

Sedition: conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch

I don’t know if it would apply here since Biden hasn’t been sworn in, but I am curious.

    3. Sean, you are soooooooo right!!! You will never meet another brave Republican as long as Trump has control of the party!!! The people of New York warned us that he was a lying coward and man, were they right!!! He lost his home state, twice!!! Lost the popular vote, twice!!! Got impeached, could have been at least twice!!! And was a 1 term president!!! Who very well might wind up in jail!! I guess for a Republican thats a successful run!!!

    1. @batgurrl Lobbying Electors to betray is what they should’ve done from the get go. It’s a long shot for sure (as they need 37 to at least vote against a Biden presidency) but they still have a much better chance of that happening than finding success in any court.

    2. @Richard Jones Thanks Richard, I’ve been looking out for this, and I heard it first from you.
I couldn’t see any way for such a harebrained suit to succeed, but it’s still a relief to get confirmation.
Roughly 50 nil now, and I think that was their last ‘legal’ shot. Justice prevails against all adversity!

    3. Anything that comes out of the mouth of a Republican official either past or present is questionable at best because it boils down to their motives and what is in it for them like Jeff Flake and Bob Corker and many others.

    1. That’s what is transforming the party. Driving away anyone with any integrity, or competence for that matter (or sanity, they’ve got Q conspirators running for office).

    2. @Dan Krohn : Trump wanted a second term. Paula White’s voodoo spell must have worked: Trump came in second, and will get a term(in prison) in 2021.

    1. @jaygee Again, you tried way to hard to make a joke… that was neither funny, nor offensive. I’ve been called worse by better.

    3. @Bradyn Lotterman please stop and really think use the smarts that I hope God gave you….if they actually had any proof of fraud or other things that they claim happened….and I’m talking actual proof, not Trump saying there was or the conspiracy group, but proof that no court in the land could toss out, they would have produced it days, he

    1. @Tyler Durden no they did not. For 4 years they tried to protect the Constitution. For some reason you are all so in love with Trump that you really couldn’t hear what he was saying.
It’s a fact that his campaign was talking to Russian mafia or criminals. Not seeing Trump knew anything about it we don’t know, because unlike Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton they went to court and testified. Trump refused to answer any questions he has hid behind being POTUS. We know the phone call to Ukraine was not perfect. We know that he convinced part of the country that there was no such thing as covid-19 when in fact it’s been on the back of a Lysol can for years.
He did nothing to stop this until three four months later. If he had just did what he has done in the last two months push drug companies for vaccine cooperated with the rest of the world . cooperated with Democrats just like Republicans but because Democrats wouldn’t lie for him he didn’t like it and no one who didn’t lie for him he would firedTrump. From the time he got in office he convinced you that the newspaper lies when in fact all they do is report stories news does not lie. He would have just done right with the covid virus, he was still be President.

    2. @Carrie Edwards he really thought that these people who going to break the law for him. This is why he’s had more cabinet changes than the last four presidents combined, because he wants people who will lie with him. And if you don’t lie with him you’re enemy of the State you’re enemy the people. And he’s a damn fool.

    3. @Alfred Stiffcock Nice one Alfie, sorry your romantic evening was ruined, but I know you’ll both get over it. Give my ‘love’ 😉 to your sexy sister.

  1. A few minutes ago, SCOTUS rejected the Texas amicus brief against those four swing states in a decision that is best summarised as “GTFOH”

    1. It looks like Paxton brought the law suite because he is worried about going to jail – so sucking up to Trump to gain favour and a pardon. Nothing to do with voter fraud or fighting for democracy.

  2. The Republicans becoming sick they’re not thinking about the people they’re thinking about their selfs.

    1. Patricia Perez…… No… he’s always stood strong for decency and morality. It’s a shame we’re losing him. I’m a Democrat in Colorado, BTW.

    2. Why is it that outgoing Republican officials always seemingly want to unburden themselves after the fact when the damage has already been done. This comes down to motive and what are they trying to gain by speaking so freely now. It’s questionable at best.

  3. Robespierre-“The secret of freedom is in educating the people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.”

    1. @Lord Solar I dnot konw if you ever saw tihs . But the hmuan biran is maverulos.
No maettr how you slpel a word as long as the frist and lsat lerttes are coerrct it can be raed.
