A law is just a piece of paper. If they are not enforced, they don’t matter. If the senate and the supreme court don’t stop Trump, he can do whatever he wants. This is all deliberate. Trump doesn’t have senate confirmed people anywhere.
Well there’s three ways for a GAO review of the executive branch to be effected.
a) executive branch self reforms(by IG in DHS fixing it)
-could happen, but Trump can try to replace the IG, he’s done it before. So this is possible, but we’ll have to see how Trump reacts
b) House and Senate work together to sanction the executive
c) NGOs and Individuals can sue the executive branch to get into court and test the constitutionality in a Federal Appeals Court and possibly up to the SCOTUS if granted Cert
Neither method is very fast, it’s conceivable that a federal judge could force the Senate to confirm the acting secretaries with an order, but that order is also likely to set up a parallel appeals process. So really, until a court judges the constitutionality of this, we won’t see a lot of movement.

There is of course a point, but the problem here is that when one party is absolutely dedicated to destroying the government, there is only so much the government can do, various avenues of checks and balances are essentially shut down de facto although not de jure. Checks and balances are necessarily slow, and as smart as the founding fathers were, while they did consider factionalism. They never really considered the idea of a faction completely, to this degree, dedicated to decimating American institutions.

This video shows his whole speech, not just the soundbite from CNN. P.S. You putting dates on talking points does not transform them into facts.

Trump should have said something like “this is America and we do not tolerate or condone hatred of people based on their race, culture, religion or sexuality………..”. Saying there were fine people on both sides, no matter the context was a fail! I gave you proof but you refused to be convinced. That is an indictment on you because those things I listed definitely happened.
