Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker saya that he has "given up" on receiving federal assistance to help combat the novel coronavirus pandemic, saying instead that his state is "doing what we need to do despite" President Donald Trump.
"We have gotten very little help from the federal government. It's fine. I've given up on any promises that have been made," Pritzker, a Democrat, told CNN's Erin Burnett on "OutFront." "I hope something will get delivered from the federal government, but I don't expect it anymore."

Joshua Phillips Broski quality of living in NY and Cali is unmatched. I live in NY and have been to Cali multiple times and spent a lot of time throughout virtually the entire state. We have higher access to affordable healthcare, easier access to legal abortion, gay marriage has been legal for longer, a much higher minimum wage, safer gun laws (and fewer per capita murders), a much better criminal justice system, NY and Cali have the 2 best public college systems in the nation (not even debatable), less of a drug problem (the only parts of NY with crippling Opioid addiction are the rural counties with Republican representatives 😂😂), more public funding for literally everything, I could literally go on forever. There is literally no way (other than personal preference) in which one can argue that Red states are just “better” than blue states. No wonder the richest, most successful, most educated, healthiest people live in blue states. We may have higher taxes but we actually have public services, unlike red states. When our roads have potholes, the government fixes them. When workers aren’t getting paid, our unions come in and make sure they get paid. We don’t have religion in our state government 😂. Simply better in every way. I probably won’t respond to whatever you have to say after this because, based on your previous comments, I do not expect a coherent, factual, reasonable response. Roger Curt in New York our taxes reflect the abundance of public services that I stated. Yes our governor is corrupt (gives money to big business that should be pushed into healthcare and social services) (cuomo is virtually a Republican (reason behind the large support for Democratic challenger Cynthia Nixon in 2018)) but by no means are we as dry as nearly every red state. The corruption isn’t due to high taxes, we have always had high taxes that therefore provide our great social services. My statement is by no means incorrect.
