Growing Body Of Impeachment Evidence Adds Pressure On Senate GOP | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC 1

Rachel Maddow reviews the extensive new evidence that has come to light about Donald Trump's Ukraine scandal in the days since he was impeached over that scandal by a House that did not have the benefit of that evidence, and notes that as documents continue to surface, the amount Senate Republicans want to cover up becomes harder to ignore. Aired on 1/8/20.

  1. The evidence has to be heard. There is no other way.

    • People complaining about Trump: 60% of Americans. People taking to the streets: 0.01% of Americans. Find the flaw.

Whatever you politically illiterate fool, I know what an echo chamber is and my comment was correct, sorry no burns here.

Freedom, Should have had some evidence before impeaching Trump! Did democrats not know this goes to a senate trial next? KAG! 2020!

      Bud Fudlacker 14 hours ago

@Aljoscha Long LOL! No democrats were in such a hurry a lie can only hold up so long! The house has the power in impeachment and evidence you say to impeach? LOL! The same people who talked impeachment before Trump took office! LOL! They screwed themselves they knew Trump was innocent so gathering evidence was impossible the best they could do is impeach in a hurry!

God you’re such a d**** if I wanted to listen to hannitys echo chamber I’d watch Fox

Nope. It doesn’t work. It doesn’t work in many ways. First of all, you’re currently in your echo chamber right here on MSNBC. For one to be in an “echo chamber” is for said individual to be conversing with a group that share a common opinion. Bud Fudlacker is literally doing the exact opposite of that thing. All of what he said does not echo in this chamber. Most importantly, if Bud had any interest in being in an echo chamber, he’d be watching Fox. Instead he’s here, outside of his bubble and in a position to invite meaningful dialogue with people who have different views.

The left has many problems, but people like you interfere with finding possible solutions. It’s that self-defeating “Bernie or Bust” way of thinking where nuance doesn’t matter.

And you’re so locked in, you had to call him a name you didn’t even have the balls to call him… just because he disrupted your precious echo chamber.

    • You can hear the evidence if it is allowed to be heard. Trump blocked it in congressional hearing and Moscow Mitch will block it in Senate trial.

    WITNESSES and transparency NOW!!!!

    • @Bud Fudlacker Oh, you mean when WH admin was ordered by trump to say nothing and defy subpoenas? We already heard the witnesses, we know the Ukraine crime, but the GOP doesn’t want the facts.

    • @The Teflon Don accurate is not the same as complete, you know? I never said it was false. That’s you jumping to the wrong conclusion.

    • @The Teflon Don Who said she’s my only source of information? Again, jumping to the wrong conclusion, buddy. Why don’t you take your own advice and move along?

  3. He went all the way to nearly start a war with Iran in order to cover up the impeachment trial, and yet…somehow, it just keeps getting more attention.

Rack up the charges on all the others too..Ukraine, Iran and others ..American ‘hegemony’_ albeit, clumsy and stupid, but also immoral and dangerous.

  5. Manuela Costa Lima | January 9, 2020 at 3:58 AM | Reply

The Senate must listen to all the evidence. No more playing tiddlywinks. No more excuses.

  6. It doesn’t seem like factual evidence has had any effect on the senate Republicans so far though?

  7. Sorry Rachel, I’m going to disagree with you. Yes, there’s more evidence! But no, the Republicans in the Senate are not feeling ANY pressure at all. McConnell has been busy buying up all the stocks of whitewash in the state.

    • Wonder Wonderful | January 9, 2020 at 11:35 AM | Reply

He might be buying up the stocks, it may not be worth anything, it may not amount to a hill of beans, by the time all these investigations are over he will be digging in his pocket so deep for lawyer fees court fees.Etc…

    • I’d say there’s a lot of pressure to be felt, but it’s from the inside. Stick with your party, follow along with McConnell, don’t risk your position, don’t make Trump angry.

  8. Bolton said he would testify if he got a subpoena, knowing full well that he won’t get one by the reps.

    • @berdboy didn’t he also say he wouldn’t even listen to any evidence? So what’s the problem of having a fair trial when the outcome is positive for trump? I think they know a fair trial would get trump removed, and for whatever reason they don’t want that, so no fair trial it is.

I’ve been curious; what is the reason the Mueller report isn’t part of the impeachment docs? Wasn’t that its implied conclusion?

    • And 11 counts of chargeable obstruction of justice!

    • My theory is that it will be used to indict him when he’s out of office

    • Lieven van Velthoven | January 9, 2020 at 3:44 PM | Reply

@C&B Jones I agree, but does that rule out its use in impeachment?

    • @Lieven van Velthoven I don’t know. All I can imagine is the GOP noise about that report exonerating him, blah blah blah. Then it becomes more of a distraction and fodder for his base to moan about. Perhaps I’m wrong
All that said, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of it.

Well now that the Iran sideshow smoke is evaporating, I’m happy to hear this new evidence about the impeachment! #ImpeachNow!!!

  11. Why do they only do 3-4 min segments of Rachel Maddow now? What happened to the 20min+ uploads?

In my culture we have a saying that translates; a hole that is dug out of lies, is never deep
In other words, anything that is based on lies, never lasts, the truth eventually comes out

McConnell and Graham have a lot of work ahead as they contunue their defence of the CRIMINAL UNINDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR.

    “Slow motion trainwreck.”
I think we’re about to see the next level.

  17. #3 is a clear and present danger to our Country , anyone helping him needs to be voted out!

    • It is clear this TV host is only appealing to the mentally ill.

    • DearDelDearDe Delusion is a serious symptom Republicans are Delusional thinking this man is a decent individual it is not the Democrats that have mental illness it is the Delusion of the Republicans that are not following our Constitution we the American People will vote him out. The repugnants will be voted out as well we the American people will remove these incompetent individuals out.
