Harris Co. Judge: GOP Is ‘Trying To Create Fear’ To Suppress Voting

Judge Lina Hidalgo says GOP are manufacturing a myth about widespread voter fraud and passing laws that threaten democracy in support of Trump’s big lie: “The situation is dire. We need support from the federal level.” Texas State Rep. Armando Martinez adds the Texas GOP suppression session to push voter restrictions is “unconscionable” and the governor is ignoring “the fundamental needs of Texas” to go after a “political ploy.”

    1. Only the trump GOP that STILL support trump and his lies and those that fear that their gerrymandering is failing them. But in doing so they are causing their base to leave their party in mass, they may not turn the Dems but they are leaving the republiCON party.

  1. Trying to limit the number of people who vote, is THE most un-American thing I’ve ever heard of. It’s right up there with Trump siding with Putin over our own intelligence agencies.

    1. @Joni Beehive look up Hervis Rogers and Crystal Mason cases, then compare to what capitol terrorists are getting…if you don’t get it after that, then you are just another troll.

    2. @gin-N-aujus read what these laws actually say. The voter id stuff is just the bullsh.. they feed to the cult. That is the most minor of the bunk they are passing into law. Get informed.

  2. The first person sentenced for her role in the violent insurrection at the Capitol on January 6 to overthrow the valid election only got 40 days public service.

    1. @TruthSeeker08 Prove me wrong that you are not a coward and watch: The New York Times: How Trump Supporters Took The U.S. Capitol / Visual Investigations

    2. @TruthSeeker08 That action alone is considered treason, but then again she probably got charge with trespassing and not treason and that is why she only got 40 and I hope that is community service because public service sounds more like being in office or hold some official capacity which would be more of a reward than a consequence(punishment).

    1. You liberals are always good for a laugh. Republicans are making it easier for more registered voters to cast a ballot. Of course, we are talking about allowing only one vote per living person and preventing illegals from voting so, I can see why you nuts are upset. LOL!

    2. @evan doe not one comment to answer your simple question, only personal attacks. When they can’t attacks the policy the attack the person.

  3. Daily Reminder: January 6, 2021, Impeached former President Trump attacked America during a joint session of congress certifying the 2020 Election.

    1. @evan doe What I call treason is inciting a rite against the US Government, requesting foreign nations to investigate US citizens to derail their presidential campaign and promote his own. Firing cabinet member that tried to show him the correct way to handle the situation and then replacing them with yes men that would cater to his every whim which is a sign of preparing to become a dictator, yes, this is treasonous. Keep in mind that he was not acquitted by the court. He was acquitted. He was acquitted during impeachment which the majority were Republicans that are behind and supportive of his treasonous action. So, the reality is his party may be okay with treason but the people which include real Republicans, liberals, and Democrats are not okay with that. Most importantly he has not been acquitted in a court of law for treason yet and quit possible never will, however, if you paid attention to his actions and not just his words you will realize that I am correct and just my opinion he is guilty of treason, but this is a free country thanks to all those military men and women that have given up their lives to grant us the privilege to have an opinion and able to express it without retaliation.

    2. @evan doe: acquitted by whom not the court of law. He may have been acquitted by his fellow Republican friends in office because when it comes to republicans people there are a lot of them that believe that he is guilty of what he was charged with during the impeachment hearings, but again since at that time the republicans had the majority they sided with him and chose not to have him removed from office even though some of those spineless republicans did believe he is guilty to this day. To answer your question, yes, I know what acquitted means and as I stated in a court of law he has yet to be charged therefore there is not acquittal nor is there a guilty verdict either, and if he were acquitted during the senate hearing then why was he impeached and twice for a matter of fact.

    3. @Justice Stone The election was verified as a true and fair election by the person in charge of the NSA and other intelligence agencies. It is just that trump and his republican followers and supporters refuse to accept his loss.

  4. We need the Department of Freaking Justice to stop the sedition and fraud now. That’s what Biden was partly elected to do and time is running out. Bipartisanship doesn’t work when one Party is trying to burn down the figurative house.

  5. Texas is ground zero and the Republicans know it losing Georgia was bad but losing Texas would be game over for the Republican Party. They know that their policies are not poplar and center around hate and fear. So best thing to do to by them a few more years is limit voting and control who counts the votes. This election fraud BS is a smoke screen for ensuring they can steal elections in the future.

  6. There needs to be a Go Fund me set up for Hervis and let’s hope a legal firm will take it up pro bono. Paxton is under FBI investigation and tried to overturn an Election and no consequences.

  7. In 2016 Trump said, “Real power is FEAR.” Anyone or Anything that gets involved with him, will eventually be destroyed…

  8. Well, for someone who would have us believe she is all for “bipartisanship,” Sinema has chosen to remain quite about the partisan “audit” in her home state.

  9. “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs, is to be ruled by evil men.”— Plato

  10. Let’s hope enough of us get to the polls and vote all these corrupt republicans out!

  11. People do not fear the rebulicans, get out and vote blue. It’s your life, and take it back, or be in a dictatorship nation, with no free will.

  12. Trying to create fear?! I tell you what, ask ANYONE living in a Democrat run city, like Chicago, about fear. You reptiles think this is a joke?
