‘He Knew’: After Leaving Prison, GOP Aide Busts Ex-Boss Chris Christie For Bridgegate | MSNBC

In an exclusive interview, former Chris Christie appointee Bill Baroni speaks out about his former boss’s role in the explosive Bridgegate scandal. Baroni says Christie knew about the infamous revenge plot that got two of his appointees convicted of crimes – which were then overturned in an unanimous Supreme Court ruling in May 2020. This newsmaking interview is Baroni’s first since the high court decision and since leaving prison, and he discusses the scandal; his own regret over his actions; the veracity of allegations against Christie by another aide; Christie’s statements blaming the plot on Baroni and others; and prison reform with MSNBC’s Ari Melber, who reports on the Supreme Court ruling that the plot was not a property fraud crime, while noting the Court also found the plot was “deceptive, corrupt and an abuse of power.” (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 05/14//2020.

    1. @John Jordan 200 pounds is only 14.286 Stone. 200 pounds in kg is 90.718 kilogrammes.
I think that a higher figure than

  1. Chris Christie needs to be charged with manslaughter at least! His aides did what he told them to just like Michael Cohen did for Trump!

    1. Chudy Robert 🤫ssshhhhhhh Chris Christie is watching us…….clutching his spaghetti knife 🔪🍝

    2. @Chela Buford He’s probably referring to the 91 y.o. woman who died who was found unresponsive and 911 was called. It took the ambulance 7 minutes to arrive instead of an expected 3 minute response time. This was due to the gridlocked traffic from the lane closures. However, it has been determined that this delay did not lead to her death. Even the family stated she was already deceased. There were several other delays like this in responding to other chest pain call, accident calls, etc., but no one died as a result. The fact that no one died as a result of the gridlocked traffic, however, was just dumb luck. The lane closures definitely put lives at risk and there could have been tragic outcomes because of those actions.

    3. @Chela Buford Think someone died in that traffic jam when an ambulance could not get to the person.

  2. He’s so bad , Donald Trump didn’t take him into his administration. Omarosa made the cut.

    1. Boddy:
Actually, Christie didn’t make the cut for two reasons—he was responsible for prosecuting Jared Kushner’s dad years ago, and he had advised trump to let go Michael Flynn, saying that he’d be trouble. That’s why he didn’t make it.

  3. I THINK CHRISTY NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL WITH HIS FRIEND !!! SOOO CALLED PRESIDENT TRUMP !!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

    1. We have over 1400 dead citizens.. NOT JAIL BIRDS..
THIEVES , DRUG DEALERS all the way up to murder.
Sorry? Not me. Ask him what made him think he could shut down a bridge over a political grudge….

    1. Vince Rob
Yea he tried to go thru Port Authority vip entrance after his governorship and got turned around 😭

    2. Joe Mamma
Christie is a slob. All he ever was. Had the nerve to think he could be president. Partisan Hack!

    3. Vince Rob
His crony Robert Schroeder went down for embezzlement by pocketing contract $ for army tents in Afghanistan…surprised the media wasn’t on it during the Bridgegate scandal…

    4. Joe Mamma
They were on everybody except the lying clown who was really responsible. Christie worked hard to lie to & get the police & firemen hating his guts early on. It would just figure he’d do something to get PA Police & Fort Lee PD jammed up on the bridge.
And let’s not forget…an elderly person died in an ambulance in that traffic. Christie should be in jail.

  4. When Christie was Attorney General,He put a lot of people in jail, and he can’t sleep at night, because he’s going to prison.

  5. funny how people who get caught doing wrong, are always sorry after they get caught, not sorry till that happens. Christie is as crooked as they come, a big fat thug.

    1. Conservatives are looking to start a new party. Others are trying to rescue the GOP and put it back on a moral path. One group or the other will be able to do it eventually. The democratic party will be opposed but in a battle of ideas rather than in corruption.

  6. The Supreme Court did not say there was no crime; just that they were charged under the wrong Federal Statutes.

    1. For any mom trying to drive her kids over that bridge on the first day of school, he deserves jail for putting her in a 4 hour traffic jam to go 2-3 miles.

    2. @TheDrjehr I agree! They all deserve to be in jail, including the people who work and cover for them. Politicians are dishonest lying jerks, but do the employees have to sell their souls to protect them?

    1. @IK Rico & Damien Rafalowski: It reminds me of the properly maligned word “twoof”, which is information that isn’t true; but, enough people want it to be true that it doesn’t matter that it isn’t true. It doesn’t matter that it is a lie!

It’s true not because it is true; it’s true because they say that it is true. Also known as an “alternative fact”.

  7. Christie is just another thug, just like trump, he does anything he wants without concern to law or the people!
