Hear what ex-intel chief thinks about Putin’s rare trip

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Iran for his first international trip beyond the borders of the former Soviet Union since launching his invasion of Ukraine, which effectively ruptured ties with the West. Putin met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, and with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He also met with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. CNN’s Alex Marquardt reports and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper weighs in on Putin’s trip. #CNN #News

  1. Love how Erdogan kept putin waiting awkwardly before the cameras as revenge for Putin doing so couple of years ago

    1. В это время Эрдоган общался с Песковым. А ты просто глупый.

  2. “The point of Modern Propaganda isn’t only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking and to annihilate truth.” Garry Kasparov

    1. I have plenty of critical thinking to exhaust, it is not possible to annihilate the truth I see , through any propaganda from all sides and ways.
Truth is truth, and is nothing else.

    2. @Laura Walker its about treat . Finland is not a threat to Russia. Ukraine is a trouble maker .Ukraine in NATO bad idea .

  3. Erin did read the word “serious” in a PRC tweet. I guess that is good enough of a substitute for Erin’s lack of discussion of the official reason for the meeting in Iran — Syria.

    1. Russia are the good guys wake up and get rid of the comedian to get back to being in a normal world two years AFO life was so much better orange worked no free crack pipes

  4. It’s simple…and I feel that everyone is missing it while trying to analyze and over complicate the reason for the visit. Putin wants to put some of his nukes in Iran for a strategic advantage and pretty sure he will help them with their program. Form a close and dangerous alliance.

    1. @Segrio Fergio See Dave, I think Sergio is the troll….nobody could be dumb or brainwashed enough to love Putin right now

    2. @Chris Stent Possibly, but none that I know of, who are these ‘“puppets” you speak of? Convince me

  5. Holding hands as opposed to fist bumping. Most interesting will be to hear Erdogan’s summation of all this.

    1. @C. Adams Who elected trump? The american people.
Its not trump’s decision alone, its also the USA’s decision.

    2. Why can’t Cuba deploy nuclear missies pointing to US? Why Ukraine can join NATO? Really confused.

    3. I hope they washed after their last toilet viisit, did you see Erdogan looking at the hand, I am sure he was thinking the same as me.

  6. Regarding the shipment of drones from Iran, I would hope that one of friends over there somehow makes them go away!!!!

  7. general clapper draws the wrong lesson: Russia threatened to invade. Then they did. Maybe US should start heading warnings

  8. Can someone explain how the hell (and why the hell) Turkey is part of NATO? Clearly Turkey is a close ally of Russia….how can Ergdogan be holding hands with Putin and Raisi, and then sit on NATO meetings?! There is a very clear (and dangerous) conflict of interest here.

  9. Vladimir Putin has traveled to Tehran to participate in the tripartite meeting of Russia, Iran and Turkey about Syria!
Addressing Putin on Tuesday, July 28, Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity of expelling American forces from the region east of the Euphrates River in Syria!
Khamenei, while pointing to the Western approach of sanctions against Iran and Russia, said that these two countries mutually need and will benefit from the development of bilateral cooperation between them.
He also emphasized the necessity of continuing the anti-Western approach of Tehran and Moscow and deepening the long-term cooperation between the dictatorial regime!
During the press conference held after his participation in the tripartite summit on Syria, Putin called for a joint security plan with Iran and Turkey, and in statements aligned with Khamenei, while accusing the United States of destabilizing countries, the presence of American forces in Syria described as “illegitimate” and destabilizing!!

  10. The Anchor does not have facts correct Putin visited New Delhi in Dec 2021, so china visit in Feb 2022 was not first after CoViD or since CoViD

  11. In addition to him groveling to another pariah state, the fact that Erdogan publicly humiliated putin by keeping him waiting, something that putin usually does to other heads of state who go to meet with him, shows just how far putin has fallen. Slava Ukraini! ✊ 🇺🇦🇺🇲🗽

    1. @elvo west The truth hurts, eh? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
