Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was arrested Friday days after video circulated of him holding his knee to George Floyd's neck for at least eight minutes before Floyd died. The arrest comes after residents awoke Friday to smoke billowing, fires burning and police lining their streets after another intense night of protests following Floyd's death. Police largely let protesters light fires and loot buildings into the early hours Friday before advancing through the area and creating a perimeter around the burnt precinct.
