  1. No thanks to President Super Spreader…

I don’t understand your comment. We might wish to look at the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota as a super spreader event. Obviously we found fault with the huge number of people that were attending trump rallies but yet we had no problem with the large number of people who were dancing close together in the street celebrating the Biden victory. So, if we are going to find fault with people attending large events, You might wish to confront the leather clad Harley guys and gals who attended Sturgis, the folks who attended the Trump events and those who were dancing in the street celebrating the Biden victory.

  2. wonderful!

history will eye those responsible for so many preventable deaths

    • Yep

    • Trump et al must be held accountable not only over the deaths from the uncontrolled virus but also for inciting violence at his rallies which resulted in injuries and deaths, too.. The historical and legal parallel I like is Charles Manson. He conned and manipulated and incited his followers to commit murder. Trump is just as culpable.

  4. No stimulus,so everyone needs to hitchhike to get their free vaccination, what a dumpster fire they are making for all Americans.

  7. Thank You to all the Doctors and Nurses and scientist and labs, for all their many hours of hard work.

    • Thanks to Pres.Trump and his operation warp speed. Had illigit Joe been in charge the vaccine would be years away.

    • @David Eby Many other labs around the world are at the same stage of successful vaccine development as the US companies with zero subsidies Trump unnecessarily gave billions of dollars of our tax dollars to. Wake up! Operation Warp Speed was another dubious giveaway to uber-wealthy.

    • @Russ Maddox Sooo, maybe you should wait for the China vaccine you have to pay for. I’ll take the free Trump vaccine.Goober

    • @David Eby China? You’re tripping. UK, France, Germany’s are all almost ready and will be available globally for $3-4. I am in no hurry. Long term side effects and efficacy take time to appear and recognize. Trump skipped all the safety measures. Time will tell. “Goober”? WTF

Let’s talk. As celebrations take place around the world for democracy the US has passed some devastating milestones – nearly 200,000 COVID-19 infections a day and 257,000 deaths. For many months some Americans have resisted wearing protective masks because they, “Take away freedom.” Is this really about taking away freedoms?
We are a county founded on the compassionate rule of law. We have seat belt laws and second-hand smoke laws. These are just two small examples of laws enacted to protect us when we cannot protect ourselves and each other. When functioning properly our representatives in government have the ability, as defined by constitutions, charters, etc., to do those things we cannot do all by ourselves. This may include building highways, providing K-12 education and let’s not forget protecting us from deadly forest fires, hurricanes and our national defense. Governors, legislators and judges, in addition to the media, are working as best as they can, as quickly as they can and with the best available public health information to keep all of us safe; individually we do not have the collective expertise, human and financial resources to manage these challenges. If they need to do this legally by decree, executive order or other provisions allowed them during emergencies then they are doing their jobs.
Although most people are doing the best they can to save lives there are some powerful few who are literally killing people. Take Trump and his super spreader events. A Stanford University study found his rallies have killed 700 people and infected 30,000. Columbia University published a study recently on how 130,000-210,000 lives could have been saved if the Trump administration and his devotees had not politicized science a pandemic that has infected over 53 million and killed 1,300,000 world-wide – so far. Approximately 40% of the infected are asymptomatic and never know they may be spreading COVID according to the CDC.
There is good news. The US government may start distributing a vaccine by the end of the year. It will go to the most vulnerable populations first including first responders. It does take weeks after the first inoculation for the vaccine to take full effect and more than one booster shot may be necessary. No one knows the duration of immunity for anyone who has recovered from COVID or from any particular vaccine. Pfizer vaccine showed 90% immunity but only for seven days. More needs to be understood. Perhaps the singular greatest problem with regard to vaccines is that too many people have been dissuaded from even getting vaccinated at all. If that is the case, it will prolong moving forward precipitously. It is possible we may be wearing masks well through 2021. Our best line of defense remains masks, social distancing, etc. By taking these basic precautions the University of Washington projects we can save over 65,000 lives by March 2021. Remember, this virus is about 8X deadlier than the 2019 flu and is the third leading cause of death in the US only behind heart disease and cancer. Please fact-check this information yourself. Just one idea – A national public service announcement program on the proper fit and use of masks, hand washing (20 seconds), social distancing, etc. Facing the truth is empowering, freeing. The sooner the more people accept reality, the sooner we can recover together as a country – grieve those we have loved and lost – and collectively address other urgent concerns.
One last thing – we are fortunate. Do the people resisting wearing a mask really have no understanding of what is true loss of your freedoms? Have we learned nothing from history: slavery, disenfranchisement, imprisonment in jails, ghettos and concentration camps, inscription into armies, forced marriage, starvation… Over 85,000 children (under five) in Yemen have died since 2015 directly because of US foreign policy. Currently, millions more Yemen children, women and men face starvation but we can still save them by providing immediate emergency assistance with our International allies. We just have to care enough about their freedom, their literal right to life. I’d like to believe we are capable of understanding false equivalences of facial coverings and the right to life, freedom from extreme suffering. This may not be what we have expected but it is nothing new, not really. And we each have superpowers – our infinite capacity for creative adaptation and a little thing called love. – Please feel free to share this post. Take care, stay safe out there and thank you.

  11. hopefully they’ll put the Covid vaccine in with the regular flu shot if we have to do it every year.

  12. t’rump: “This vaccine would never have happened without me!”
Also t’rump: “This corona is a hoax!”

    🤔😅😂🤣

If the corona covid-19 virus is a hoax then how in the world did Donald, Melania, Don Jr. & Baron all catch a hoax? Doesn’t make sense!

    • Seems lost on him that other labs around the world are on the same track and timeline to develop their vaccines without Trump’s billion dollar giveaways to his preferred BigPharma in operation warpspeed. Once again he gave away billions of dollars of our hard earned tax dollars with dubious results. America got scammed when our idiots elected this numbskull conman.

  15. So essentially they’re trying to say that everyone has to take it, because those who do will be walking around asymptomatically infecting anyone who hasn’t.

AztraZeneca is sending most of it’s vaccine to other countries. It’ll be a long time before a vaccine gets to most Americans.

  17. Let’s see. 94.5% effective vaccine versus one that “could” be up to 90% effective. That’s an easy decision. Give me the 94.5%.

  18. Hi. You’re missing “Of” after “One”. Still available for proofing. 🙂

  19. CNN admitted smartmatic cannot be trusted: Democracy for Sale, clip is now making it’s debut.

  20. Ok so earlier today AstraZeneca said they where only at 70% now they are at 90% had more faith in them when they where at 70% do to other company’s where already at 95% not that I’m not grateful but I fell like this has become a rush job. my Faith has been a little lost this past few years. But I can see some of it coming back
