Those $1,200 stimulus checks were inching closer to America's mailboxes, U.S. deaths surged past 1,000, and jobless claims smashed a record Thursday as coronavirus tightened its grip on America.

Late Wednesday, the Senate passed a $2 trillion emergency aid proposal, described by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as "a wartime level of investment into our nation.” It passed by a vote of 96-0. The House is scheduled to vote Friday, then the package goes to President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it.

The agreement comes as confirmed cases in America closed in on 70,000, and more confirmations are expected as the U.S. ramps up testing. The global death toll was more than 21,000; total confirmed cases are approaching 500,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University data dashboard.

  1. People ate buying a lot of Scott Tissue, hand Sanitizer, disinfecting Wipes, Hand Soap, and rubbing Alcohol 70% are been sold on E- Bay, Amazon, and Facebook for higher prices this is price gouging. They are making big profits off these products and some of them are getting rich quick.

  2. They said ‘quarantined for 2 weeks’. People did not have 2 weeks worth of stuff at home. Stores did not have 2 weeks worth of stuff for everyone laid out on the shelves. Of course there’s going to be shortages. This ‘panic buying’ claim is overblown.

  3. What about the people that dont want to be the ones with out because of the panic buyers. It’s a vicious cycle I tell y0u
