  1. This is so interesting! We don’t have first past the post-elections here, only proportional. Are they computerballots? What happens when a voter only give a third and forth choice for example?

    1. If they only give 1 or 2 responses, then the ballot is no longer counted once those two are eliminated.. Not sure about “3rd and 4th” but maybe it doesn’t matter what line they are on.

    2. @Jock Young We vote by computer so we can’t vote invalid. Our elections are mandatory though. Every citizen over 18 has to show up in the poling station! (we can vote blanco if we want, but we have to physically show up!)

    1. We need to remove the electoral college. (See CGP Grey video ‘Trouble with the electoral college’).

We need to replace plurality voting with approval or rank choice voting.

And that would take us a VERY long was in being a real representative democracy.

  2. I wish I could vote for Maya! She has a good grasp on policies that get at the roots of issues.

  3. Jesus Christ saves from sin.
    Romans 3: 23
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Hebrews 9: 27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
    Isaiah 64: 6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
    Revelation 21: 8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    Romans 5: 8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    John 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    John 14: 6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    Romans 10: 9-10.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    Jesus said John 5: 24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
    1John 5: 10-13
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
    Ephesians 2: 8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    Romans 8: 1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 15: 3-4
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    2 Corinthians 5: 21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

  4. Chuck Todd, America needs to you to be much less annoying right now so people won’t switch your channel off.

    1. @Reason – this segment is DA BOMB DIGGETY! I love me some complicated voting methods! Hey-oooooh! 🤣

    2. @Reason – Seriously though, this will be very interesting to me. I want to see how they handle it… both the people doing the counting, and the public, on the results. If it’s a positive, I hope it leads other elections using either approval or rank choice voting.

Have a great day, bro! 😀👍

  5. Tallying a rank choice voting system can get complicated. If anyone can screw it up royally, it will be the NYC board of elections.

    1. Approval voting > rank choice voting > plurality voting (our current, and worst voting method)

Approval voting strength is in its simplicity. 1) no additional processing step 2) is easily counted for real-time information 3) polling can be conducted, unlike rank choice. 4) does not confuse the general population.

    2. Great comment. Look, I understand how rank choice works even in complicated scenarios, BUT, the average American will have all kinds of crazy conspiracy theories on something like rank choice.

  6. Approval voting > rank choice voting > plurality voting (our current, and worst voting method)

Approval voting strength is in its simplicity. 1) no additional processing step 2) is easily counted for real-time information 3) polling can be conducted, unlike rank choice. 4) does not confuse the general population.

  7. The Aussies call that style of counting votes ‘preferential’, and it is much better than ours. They use it for all elections. It means voters do not elect someone the majority of them do NOT want… in other words they do NOT elect someone they dislike or distrust the most. The election chooses the candidate that has the ‘highest’ level of support. Aussies also have mandatory voting… I feel is a good thing too; is only a small fine if you don’t vote, but it means you get the most accurate decisions with big turnouts.

  8. I saw Yang in 2nd place which is good and Adam’s do I don’t know where he is getting his number CNN Fox have something different which had Adams 1st and Yang 2nd and Garcia 3rd

  9. They’ll use this for the nominee, but not for the election…why, ranked choice is a better system!

  10. My first choice is Yang… my second choice is Yang…My third choice is Yang…My fourth Choice is Yang… my fifth choice is Yang
