  1. We just really need to start moving people away from those places that are going to be underwater. Buy up their properties and help them relocate somewhere else.

    1. I understand your thought process, but many who own properties in south Louisiana have inherited them. It is very hard to be bought out when trying to preserve family history. Sense and reason doesn’t actually work hand in hand.

    2. Who wants to buy a house that’s going underwater! They just claim their insurance and the insurances will hike the premiums for all the customers across the US. And the government gives the ok everybody is happy except people paying premiums,

  2. I am from Louisiana. When Honere speaks, it is the publics interest to listen. Many may have a hard time understanding his speaking, but I promise you, he has your life at the heart of every word he utters.

  3. Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré is a real national treasure. He is one of those few leaders who can instill a sense of security and confidence with his presence. People know he doesn’t play games or talk BS and he isn’t political. He just does the best he can to get the job done to recover from any epic disaster. A true legend in his own time.

  4. Honore has tremendous knowledge and skill at handling crisis. There’s a reason why he always gets called up to handle things.

I hope he has trained up some folks around him – we need his expertise to endure cause unfortunately this crap seems like the norm going forward.

    1. Get off the planet! What is wrong with you people I suppose hurricane Ida’s Trump’s fault also! Grow up

    2. @harktz She’s spot on. He’s even telling his supporters to get the vaccine, if they wish, but they have the freedom.

    3. @harktz, he’s saying if Trump were president he’ll take the same approach as vaccines. Getting a vaccine is the same as evacuating before a Hurricane. Nature is not to be trifled with. If there’s a Hurricane coming evacuate! If there is a pandemic tearing up the whole planet get a Vaccine!!!!

  5. I will help LA after they build to account for hurricane rains, ocean surges and high winds or tornadoes. Resolve the problem instead of putting on band aides!

  6. Omg….. the hurricane is coming and the hospitals are filled with Covid patients. I’m frightened for anyone in its path. God help them.

  7. WE ALL KNOW THAT THE EVES OF ANY ROOF IS THE CATCHING POINT FOR ANY HUGE WINDS ESPECIALLY TORNADOES AND HURRICANES. THIS MAY SOUND SILLY NOW BUT A HUGE ORANGE TARP ANCHORED INTO THE GROUND WITH THOSE HUGE LAWN SCREWS ATTACHED TO A HUGE TARP COVERING AS MUCH EVES AS POSSIBLE JUST MAY PREVENT ROOVES FROM TEARING OFF, IT WOULD ACT LIKE AN IGLOO WITH THAT WIND FLOWING OVER IT NOT CATCHING ANYTHING???!!!

  8. The people should listen, they already seen what can and will happen in these situations, try to live well people and may God bless this state at this time
