  1. Speaking as a former prosecutor and defence lawyer I have to say this is an example of excellent police work.

    1. @anne amus yea, from small amount I heard it was the snap enclosure on the knife sheath that had bit of DNA
Do you know why he & his father were on the road trip cross country? Did they go to Idaho where this took place?

    2. @toney ingram are.. you serious? Are you aware of how many people are arrested daily and aren’t show? Typical CNN viewer 😆

  2. monstrous evil – may the trial bring some justice – prayers & respect for the families – the father’s advocacy for his daughter is amazing

  3. My heart goes out to all these parents and all suffering from such a cruelty. The criminal is a serial killer. Cold like Ice.

    1. @Praveen Sriram for legal purposes it’s a choice, he tried to evade detection, that means he knew society wouldn’t tolerate his actions.

  4. Many people in this man’s position of losing his daughter that way would not be so calm and patient with the justice system.

  5. Steve is understandably in a lot of pain and on a mission! My heart goes out to him and all those who were devastated by this monster.

  6. Specially for that only child. No one will ever again comfort the parents, the depth of their pain is inconceivable and will forever be the same, until the end of their days.

    1. Something is telling me you know of what you speak. My condolences to you. I’m a survivor of losing my only child (17 yr old) in 2016.

  7. I am so sorry for your loss Mr. Goncalves. My prayers are with you and your wife and family. No matter what, justice will be served. This guy is not getting away with it.

    1. That’s daft wanted him to look you in the eye 👁️ he has no business with you rather keep praying for God to open his mouth on the day of trial for to speak the truth and maybe the you will see him look you in the eye or maybe you might be the one looking him in the eye or he wanting you to look him in the eye Patience to the end he’s still innocent haven’t been proven guilty yet by the Court keep that in mind at the same time you should maybe ask le to look you in the eye and ask them why the drop down the witness as cleared? Who had all the opportunity to maybe have your daughter alive today had she called 911? Justice too soon may just be injustice

  8. Sending so much love blessings and strength for the Gonclaves family. They show so much strength and Grace it is admirable . They are. Daddy is right only a coward to do such an awful heinous thing as this.

  9. Good interview. My heart goes out to these families. Unfortunately, our world is becoming increasingly more complicated. These girls did absolutely nothing wrong. It might be important to note, though, that even if it’s not fair, sometimes it’s better for women in general to ere on the side of caution in their public conduct, b/c some guys cannot handle independent and free thinking women. Is it fair? No. But it’s the world we live in. To give an example, long ago I used to hitchhike. Have traveled over much of the US. I got so I would try to dress more to look like a guy instead of a gal, b/c I didn’t want anyone to pick me up only b/c I was a woman. That way I would get rides from people who just wanted to help out, instead of some ulterior motive. Was it fair to me? Not really, but that strategy probably saved me from a world of trouble. Nowadays we collective strive to promote more equality, rightfully so to a degree, but the reality is some people still can’t handle this kind of social change. Many people in today’s world are impacted as never before; i.e. mental health and other health issues, neuroligical problems, a social fabric that’s stretching pretty thin in our country, things like diabetes, drug addiction all contribute to situations like this where a person can go off the rails.
Really hope for sound justice here. Sorry it happened. Peace and healing to these families.

    1. Interesitng comment though i would like to add something.

Most women that are victims of violence are attacked by boyfriends/husbands

It’s highly unlikely a person thst isn’t your intimate partner will attack you

Men are the majority of victims of murders

With that said, I encourage you to practice, train, and get familiar with firearms for self defense, as that’s really the only thing that has significant effectiveness in protection

  10. I will continue to pray for all of these families. That is a courageous father. May GOD give him peace.

  11. I recently lost my son, 25. My heart goes out to these parents who’ve lost their children in such a monstrous manner. I pray that they will find comfort and peace in the capture of this hateful predator.

    1. @Sally Gardner I never had kids because I never wanted that grief and wanted to spare anyone the pain of forced existence.

    2. @Marie Melendez it’s never easy accepting the one you truly loves is gone and you’ll never get to see them ever again

  12. I have so much respect for this man. He’s kept his composure and handled himself in such an admirable way. I appreciate how he is making it his mission to not bad mouth ANYONE or place blame on anyone other than the defendant. My heart goes out to all the families who lost their children to this senseless tragedy. ❤

  13. So sorry, for your devastating loss. I hope that you and your family and the others receive justice. 🙏❤🕊

  14. I am sitting here right now watching this interview in Chicago crying silent, but ugly tears, thinking of my beautiful, brilliant, full-of-life daughter and her precious friends, who is a pre-med college student right now — and thinking about having to receive that horrendous call. I don’t know, but this particular interview, of the tens, probably near a hundred that I have now seen in coverage of this repulsive story, has just hit me so hard today. Justice for these families. That Ethan was a triplet… that Maddie was an only child. I’m sick.

    1. Well perhaps people should think about the risks before having children. Seems they never do and pay the consequences later.
