At least he could get a test. Most can’t.
@An Ds they are free at the hospital my significant other works at. If you have symptoms or have been in contact with a confirmed case they test you. Only about 1/7 are coming back positive most people that think they have it actually have the flu or other cold strain.

The crazy thing is, how can you possibly know if you have been in contact with anyone who has it? For them not to test you for that reason, is dangerous.

@Mike Boyd that’s not the case for everyone….this is a very unpredictable virus. That’s partly what makes it so scary. If it was only dangerous/lethal to the elderly (like the flu is) then it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. This is killing people in their 30s and 40s….a lot of them with NO PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS!

Obviously he caught it from someone that probably was not included in the confirmed cases, and likely didn’t know they had it. He then passed it on to who knows how many people. This is why the epidemic is about to explode. The hospitals are about to be overrun.

There are millions of tests available that were created by the Germans and recommended by the World Health Organization. Thump called this a hoax, a conspiracy by Democrats, a flu and told his followers to go to work.The government wasted time spreading Thump’s lies to calm the stock market. The markets crashed because of the lies.Then the real crap hit the fan and the virus popped up in twenty-seven states. Thump still refused to use the German test. Instead they wanted US companies to develop a test. More wasted time. All they have to do is release the German test and use the American test as more are produced. The governor of New York asked for the WHO tests to be given to them because of community spread. The Thump Administration’s refusal to do so led directly to this man and maybe hundreds of thousands more spreading the virus to their families and their communities around this country. Of course a lot of this could have been avoided if Thump’s jealousy had not led to dismantling President Obama’s Pandemic Response Team. So, much for being a stable genius.

I know how severe some flue is, this is way worse….and ppl who dont care to catch it, just be sure you dont transfer it to elderly, because almost 1 in 5 die from it. US will be in deep trouble WHEN it will be spreading. No sick leave pay for workers, none have real medical insurance.

Ruth, folks with a compromised immune system, and some elderly folks are most at risk. Staying away from public spaces and large gatherings will help prevent the virus from wildly spreading. It is a form of containment so that our hospitals do not get overwhelmed with patients. We can build the best bombs, but we do not have the capacity to provide the tens of thousands of respirators that would be necessary to assist those patients whose lungs have failed them due to this virus.

Right now, 40% of people who are hospitalized with the virus in the US are between the ages of 20-40. It is NOT just old people.
