  1. He doesn’t deserve this kind of blackmail power. Democrats need to pick up more seats to take his power play away. He’s A nobody.

    1. @J you also elect congress so yes we need more democratic seats anx he needs to be voted out.

    2. Or freakin hold a few seditionists making as Senators to account; censure, dismiss, etc.
At least more than a few of these old geezers are seriously old as f*. “In memorium”

    1. @Gram Farmer: That should have been done before in anticipation of a critical moment like this. There is a price to be paid for lack of foresight, and now we are paying it.

  2. F – Manchin! What he thinks is “good” for WV isn’t, good for the rest of the country. We need a larger majority in the Senate. This is absurd. People are struggling!!!

  3. Tbh, $80k single/$160k joint is a damned good wage. If you can’t cope on that without an extra $1400 per person you’re doing something wrong. However, I do agree Manchin needs the boot somehow.

    1. Depends on where you live. Also it doesn’t matter how much you make if your out of work do to covid.

  4. I mean if a single household STILL makes 75,000-100,000, they shouldn’t need it anyway. I lean slightly left, but this just makes sense regardless

    1. @Gram Farmer what I mean is a single household of one. It looked like the chart was saying a single individual over 75,000 would be disqualified, which I agree with

    2. @Eazy Baby nor is he correct. The last stimulus was part of a larger end of the year omnibus spending bill. They’re complaints like this have nothing to do with reality. The worst part is they know this, but lie anyways… Which begs the question that if you have to lie to get your way, doesn’t that make what you want evil?

    3. @bill hicks they spout lies w/ tiny bits of nuanced truth and expect folks to be dumb enough to think it’s fact. They aren’t fooling anyone, they just chant it among themselves and believe in their own lies

  5. I used to be sick of hearing “Hey there, I’m Chris Hayes” every few minutes. Now that I’m seeing Rachel Maddow wave at me every few minutes, I’m starting to miss Chris.

    1. @Angael Tartar Rose I love her, she’s MSNBC’s best. I just get tired of seeing her silly little waves 20 times a day.

    1. But is he willing to be the face of the failure of the stimulus bill if Schumer tells him to back off? (given that no one seems to be holding the republicans responsible for ANYthing)

    2. And Joe Manchin shouldn’t have this much power now. He is one of the few multi millionaires in West Virginia, which is one of the poorest states in the nation. If there hadn’t been so much Trumpian divisions in the 2 parties, this probably would not have happened. The fact that it has should concern every American.

    3. Joe will be history, he just nailed his own coffin. Will be voted out. He is not a Democrat. His playing with the Republicans.

  6. who cares about Munchkin ..one man concept is getting old…power should be equal in Congress unless your the leader, that’s who you cater to if necessary..this sucks!

  7. So now west VA Manchin has turned into Moscow (turtle) KY Mitch. Not working, not honoring their constituents but their donors. This hamster wheel MUST stop in Congress. No one man should EVER have this much control in USA politics… look at just what happened the last 4 years. FFS

  8. I’m tired of the so-called Republican party being the Obstruction party and the Conspiracy party. For all or almost all of them to oppose such an important bill is just beyond sad.

  9. Why not cut more money from the pork? Joe Manchin needs to go. Come on WV Manchin wants to keep you guys poor.
