Jeremy Bash: The Presidential Election Is The ‘Crown Jewel Of American Democracy’ | Craig Melvin
The USA is 25th on The Democratic Index List, it is listed as a flawed democracy. Chile is 21st.
We need to abolish the Electoral College and make Puerto Rico and D.C. states. Then we’d move up significantly on that list, because both the presidency and the Senate would be far more democratic institutions.
That’s interesting. So we shouldn’t be surprised when tRump’s goons start rounding up Democrats and POC and slaughtering them in football stadiums.
I am profoundly disgusted with my country of origin and grateful that I no longer live there.

This is better. 3.5 million more actual voting people voted for Biden. This with about 140 million votes cast. That’s a 48 to 52 aprox ratio.
Also, Georgia, North Carolina, and Penn are still in play.

@Fred Freddy I don’t think we should have the electoral college… but that is actually, factually, what decides who is President. It looks most likely like Biden will win 270 electoral votes, which is ~0.2% of the vote required to win.
Trump is using that to try and begin a civil war in order for him to stay in power. If he succeeds, there is a high probability that will be the end of the US government and the beginning of a new one party dictatorial government under Trump.
Now, he can only succeed if the ~50% of the population that supports him is willing to pick up arms and wage a violent bloody civil war to keep him in power, because I am certain that is what it would take to keep Trump in power.

It’s a common misconception that welfare causes people to become lazy, but studies show that’s not the case and that welfare programs, even the most extreme, increase labor participation. There’s a reason why the most successful countries in the world, such as various Nordic countries, are largely democratic socialist and offer welfare programs. These places also have a happier work force and some are even exploring shorter work weeks as they found it actually increases productivity. Unfortunately many modern Republicans and right-wing media sources have manipulated and conned the average person to think “socialism=bad”, yet ironically they don’t seem to take much issue with bailing out large corporations and farmers with our tax money.
