President Joe Biden issued a statement expressing gratitude to the first responders and pledging support and assistance. He referenced a gun reform law passed earlier this year and urged "greater action" to curb gun violence.

"Because of yet another horrific and senseless act of violence, there are now even more tables across the country that will have empty seats this Thanksgiving," the statement said. "There are now more families who know the worst kind of loss and pain imaginable."

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it was assisting with the investigation. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who ordered flags flown at half staff through Sunday, said he was making state resources available. "Our hearts break with the community of Chesapeake this morning," he said.

  1. The idea that a demented old tyrant is protected by fully automatic weapons, denied to the public as written in the 2A is sick.

    1. @tax xzempt Arms, which means anything. It was vague because technology was constantly evolving and the writers knew that.

    2. @Travis Fisher I give two shits what that crypt keeper, Pedo Joe the Tyrant says. The Bill of Rights trumps his mental effluence.

    1. @bubble jim no, the blue wave failed, the Republicans outperformed the Democrats and got millions more people to vote for them across the country….. Your delusion is laughable. Keep coping. 😂😂😂

    1. @iamthe partyone Lmfao, the point is it’s been infringed upon for damn near a century, so the argument of infringement in itself is not only moot, but asinine to make.

    2. @iamthe partyone all I’m saying is dude it’s an uneducated individual that continues the argument of infringement.
      Don’t be that guy.
      Happy Thanksgiving

    3. @xXAg3nT80-siXx you sound like the uneducated individual. Like I said, prior infringement doesn’t justify further infringement, that is an absolutely weak minded argument. Everyone should continue with the argument of infringement when infringement is taking place or being discussed. Its not even an argument as much as statement of fact. Your desire to ignore the words in the bill of rights is disgusting, dont be that guy. Happy Thanksgiving to you too, just put a 22 pounder in the oven myself.

    4. @xXAg3nT80-siXx sounds like you’re the one trying to sell a pipe dream while the rest of us are willing to fight for our rights just like the founding fathers intended us to do.

    1. Lied on the 4473 background check. Gun left in public across the street from a grade school. The fbi covered up everything.

  2. Criminals don’t follow the law. That’s what makes them criminals to begin with. The only people this would disarm are law abiding citizens who would then be left defenseless. I swear, the ones pushing for this are complete idiots…🤦‍♂

    1. That’s the magic of lacking the mental capacity to process logic. It doesn’t have to make sense, it just has to feel right.

    2. Your wrong and I will correct you. Law abiding citizens are the only ones not being filled with bullet holes by the ATF when they show up to collect the guns you said you lost on a boat. Gun toting Criminals are removed from the census instantly while law abiding citizen don’t have to lift a finger to take out the trash(conservatives)

    3. @Emmy Turner You didn’t correct a thing. You just spouted partisan mealy mouthed excuses trying to justify disarming the public.

  3. The idea that a president said allow when talking about guns shows we need to flex our freedom and remind the political class that this is a government by the people for the people and we are in charge not them

    1. The fact that you consider gun violence a “flex of freedom” shows that you are a future shooter and is the exact reason why your guns will be removed from your possession. Your not talking about patriotism.
      Your taking about terrorism.

    2. @Emmy Turner way to miss the point. I said nothing about violence at all. I’m starting the clear fact that they are swarn in to defend the constitution and it directly says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. But go ahead with your straw man

    1. Look here jack, an assault weapons blows lungs out the body and they have high capacity you know the thing fully semi automatic ar14s..

  4. We went from automatic-> to weapons of war-> to semi automatic…. Semi automatic means ALL FIREARMS because that just means you pull the trigger once and a bullet comes out we’d be limited to revolvers and bolt action rifles to fend against tyranny while the tirant has automatic and weapons of war

    1. Yeah stupid. All the things that let conservatives shoot children should be banned. Let the ATF take the fight to the shooters homes.

    2. @tax xzempt Not if I see you coming a mile out. I can pick off 5 gallon buckets at 3/4 mile like nothing. 16 years with the USMC kind of perfects marksmanship. 🤣😂

    3. @Leroy Watermelon well I have about 6 months of experience with my Walmart scope and I’m fairly confident within 40 yards

    1. Weapon is an object.
I taught my kids this since they were young. I told them “the most powerful weapon you have is your mind. Just about any object can be a weapon. How you perceive the object is up to you.”

    1. @Emmy Turner You are not taking anything. There is a thing called states rights. If you think people are going to willingly give up their fire arms you are very mistaken. In my state and county no law enforcement office will support this. But hey keep dreaming.

  5. I like how he acts like the government “allows” us to own “assault weapons” as if it’s not even a right or anything

    1. It’s not. No other country allows this. Also no other country has daily mass shootings. There’s a pretty clear connection if your can’t see it your brain has failed you.

    2. @mrs.Lilian Fetters 1. I’m not a dem.
      2. Your so dumb you don’t know the difference between socialism and communism.
      3. You Do Not have the right to kill anyone. And what you have in your gun cabinet is not a musket.
