John Durham Compromises Credibility With Public Statement On IG Report | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC

David Laufman, former chief of the DOJ's counterintel and export control section, talks with Rachel Maddow about how strange and inappropriate it is that John Durham, the U.S. attorney chosen by William Barr to conduct another investigation into the Trump-Russia investigation, spoke critically of the DOJ IG report while in the midst of his own investigation. Aired on 12/9/19.

  1. Make no mistake, this is the kind of sheit that makes a banana republic a banana republic. This is not a drill folks, the alarms have been sounding since day one with the inaugural crowd size gaslighting.

    1. Dems… like Horowitz the former Clinton Attorney.. Want to criminalize investigating them. And justify all their illegal acts. Your attempted Coup is going to end in prison.

  2. WHEN DOES THE DOJ ANNOUNCE INVESTIGATIONS?

the Department of Justice does not publicly announce investigations or investigative findings. There are several reasons for this policy. Announcing an investigation of some civil or criminal violations could make it more difficult to obtain witness cooperation or gather evidence. It also could result in the unfair identification of an individual as a person of interest to the federal government. The Department’s policy is described in the United States Attorneys Manual and regulations.

  3. On February 21, 1975, Nixon’s Attorney General John N. Mitchell, was found guilty of CONSPIRACY, OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE, and PERJURY and sentenced to two and a half to eight years in prison for his role in the Watergate break-in and cover-up, which he dubbed the “White House horrors.” As a result of the conviction, Mitchell was disbarred for life from the practice of law.

    1. I see no use for white collar criminals to be jailed, house arrest, barred from law, regular tracking of their activities is ok, fines are enough. Except Trump.

    2. @canuck Not formally because he resigned. Was he criminally charged after he resigned? No in fact he was fully pardoned on Sept 8 1974 by Gerald Ford for any crimes that were or might have been committed during his presidency

    1. James Jones

Perhaps that will happen while he’s preparing for his next triathlon.
He’s the favorite pin-up of women in the GOP.

    1. Wow, is all I can say to you Autumn rain, the amount of abuse the FBI did during its investigation during the Russia probe is just ridiculous. I’m not telling you to sit and read 700 pages of dribble, but anyone can manage 20 pages or so of the summary.

  4. It hasn’t been a secret that a lot of people are involved in donnie’s schemes, but dang….. I think it goes much deeper, both in the number of those involved and the scope of their crimes and coverups.

    1. They know what’s coming and is not pretty. They are TERRIFIED! HONORABLE DonTrump’s Team of American Patriots are focused and ready on call. Demonscraps are Traitors

  5. Durham is Barr’s insurance policy so Barr can get the end result he wants to hear. Barr already knew the IG’s report was not what he wanted to hear because it was the truth.

    1. Mark Rieck Page under investigation on whose orders, you can try to spin the truth whichever way you like.
Ask yourself if Child Trafficking is real, ask yourself if Trump signed an executive order resulting in a worldwide alert against Child Trafficking. If you look I’m sure you’ll find it. Why did Rothschilds sell ancient hunting land? Why did Soros gift billions? Why did Epstein destroy his tunnels on little st James island with $27 million weapons grade explosives. Why do the press hate Trump just like they did JFK? Research everything, be vigilant. YOU WILL WAKE UP. The battle is in your head, follow Qmap.pub prove it wrong if you can, it would be good to try.

    2. @Mark Rieck” Page was ALREADY under surveillance for his involvement with Putin’s regime.” All based on a lie that was so bad, that Page will spend the rest of his life suing CNN and all the main stream that, pushed and supported it.

    3. @Mark Rieck Paige was basically an informant for another government agency, they redacted which agency, but I would imagine it was the CIA.

  6. It will never cease to amaze me that so many people, who in any other situation would be considered intelligent, would so eagerly lay their credibility and self respect at the feet of a man who is utterly empty of any substance, is the epitome of a bully, and who holds *them* in utter contempt, and sees them as merely assets to be used for his benefit.

    1. KesselRunner606 He May be all of the things you suggest. But he has exposed a very corrupt government and that should worry you more!

  7. It’s their “smear” tactics to try and discredit the Mueller Report even though it’s not the result they’d like to hear. But the base is so convinced about whatever this administration does that no matter what the evidence suggests or how bad the conclusions are for this administration, they will blindly follow them like sheep. It has become a cult.

    1. People keep saying “the base”, “the base”. The truth is that there is no base, because a few people are speaking for a lot of people that they have no control over.

  8. It’s all about announcements with Trump and his cult. Never any follow-through or consequences. Only children and Republicans believe this con artist.

  9. Doesn’t Barr have 2 of his children/relatives, working, in this Administration? One at the DOJ & the other, who was moved from Ethics(?) into the Treasury Dept’s Financial Crimes Unit, after he took over, as AG? Lots has been happening, in the news, but follow up is needed.

  10. They can always say: the boss made me do it. We can understand for we all have a boss. The boss has the last word, right or wrong.

  11. Sounds like there’s a number of lawyers who will be barred from practicing law in the future. They are pushing the lies of the president and will not escape the law.
