Justice Dept. Reportedly Considering Sedition Charges Against Jan 6 Suspects | The Last Word | MSNBC

Former U.S. Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal says “seditious conspiracy” is the right label for the January 6th Capitol insurrection. “You have these people who launched an armed assault to try and prevent the people in Congress from doing their job. It’s often hard to make these cases but I think this is one in which the evidence is supportive of a seditious conspiracy charge and the label should be used.” Aired on 03/23/2021.

  1. The world is watching, don’t stuff it up. Hit em and hit em hard or you’ll have a repeat in a relatively short time. The GOP should be held to account as co- conspirators.

    1. I would bet they’re sweating down several of the coconspirators as we speak? They probably have more than they need to make it stick?

    2. @Konrad Yearwood : Surely, his final sentence would be, “My mommy can vouch for me, she brought there.”

    1. Would you stop crying about Trump he’s not going to prison you need to get over that and move on with your life

    1. @Louise Cardinal you mean found not guilty you auditioning for a job at the lying msnlsd. You seem to forget key info.

    2. @Linda Lauer absolutely Trump was in with the pedo brigade Plus he’s got his own history to answer for shortly 🍊🤡🤥

  2. Things are ever out of whack when Trump is involved. Up is down and down is up. We were subjected to a terrible nightmare. Please, please set it right again.

    1. I LIKE UR SERUOUS FUNNY COMMENT ,UP IS DOWN ,DOWN IS UP 🤣🤣🤣🤣.THOUGHT HE B OUT N GONE ,NOOOOO HE CANNOT AFORD TO LOOSE HIS LIES ,COMON MAN !!!! 🤔

  3. All who invaded that Capitol should be charged with Sedition and he should be fired immediately for interference. He like the rest didn t do his job on the 6th.

  4. All who invaded that Capitol should be charged with Sedition and he should be fired immediately for interference. He like the rest didn t do his job on the 6th.

  5. The label should be used for ALL those in the Capitol that day who were trying to stop the Electoral College Certification. A few of them were heard saying “where are the ballots kept?” Show that in the trial. Removing those ballots would have nullified the process because not all of them would be accounted for. This should also apply to the congressmen/women who helped to delay the process by objecting and delaying it. When Trump told Toomey to object to the counting even after learning that Pence was taken out safely.

  6. 18 U.S. Code CHAPTER 115—TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES:

    § 2381. Treason
    § 2383. Rebellion or insurrection
    § 2384. Seditious conspiracy
§ 2385. Advocating overthrow of Government

  7. After what happened at the Capitol on 1/6 the GOP should be given a death sentence. Put a new FBI director in charge who will do something!

  8. That doj appointee needs to be put on a polar bear census investigation in Alaska for the next 30 years.

  9. Everyone that went past the barricades is part of the seditious conspiracy, they all deserve 20+ years. The death penalty for the active and retired military that were part of it is a better solution for them.

  10. If delaying a governmental process is seditious, then the 150 or so Congresspersons who voted against certifying America’s free and fair 2020 election must be seditious as well.

  11. We all saw what happened on live TV and then we have to sit around and listen to them gaslight us.

  12. No one loves running their mouths more then trump appointees.

Great reporting and interview Lawrence. I love listening to Neal Katyal.

  13. “Justice Dept. Reportedly Considering Sedition Charges Against Jan 6 Suspects” thereby reminding us, yet again, that #Jan621 Insurrectionist #DJT is “utterly incompetent” as per the words of both his own Federal Judge elder-sister Maryanne Trump Barry and his own Clinical Psychologist niece Dr. Mary Trump. May #Imp2POTUS45 always hear “You’re fired” via the unwavering reality of election results that reject him who is the cause of #MourningInAmerica.
