What I imagine is that Trump is using the COVID-19 crisis, the BLM protests, and mail in voting as ways to CHEAT his way to re-election. He sees COVID-19 as something that disproportionately affects large cities that lean Democratic and are also made up of more immigrants, minorities, and people of color who also lean Democratic. And, he sees the BLM protests as an excuse to send Federal troops out into the streets of Democratic led cities to intimidate protesters, now, and to intimidate voters in November, and he sees the USPS as a threat because they will be handling the increased number of mail in ballots – so, he’s going to sabotage their ability to do so. What is clear is that Trump has no interest in EARNING re-election by solving problems or trying to win more voters over to his side – because, he intends to CHEAT his way into a second term! The question, then, is will we let him get away with it, or not?
@orphan 200 And the Republicans have been helping since Reagan, such as when he got rid of the Fairness Doctrine in 1986, which opened the door to their ongoing demonization of Democrats, and anyone who disagrees with them.
They haven’t even really pretended to act with true bipartisanship ever since.

@Richard Owens I agree with this statement, as I am also a progressive Independent, but that still doesn’t make Obama culpable IN ANY WAY for the racial divide in this nation; before, during or after his presidency.
Our nation was, in large part, FOUNDED on racial divide.
And yes, prior to #traitortrump, we had made great strides forward as a nation.
But what #traitortrump has done is to show us the slimy underbelly of those who only PRETENDED to be real Americans, believing in the Constitution and the Rule of Law, and have now been spotlighted as the FRAUDS they truly are.
I wasn’t a big Obama fan either, and he lost me completelywhen he signed NDAA, but holding him responsible for not completely healing a 230-year racial divide in a mere eight years is an unrealistic, unreasonable, and disingenuous fallacy at best.

Of course, he’s doing it for the opposite reason, to downplay the number of COVID deaths, which is why the numbers in many states appear to be flattening, when the truth on the ground is anything but.
I actually got a call from my husband last night, because rural Tennessee where we live is now the #2 hotspot for growing numbers of cases, to warn me to always wear a mask when I go out.
Of course, I was already doing so, but I appreciated it, all the same.

When Trump talks, it is like watching someone talking to a mirror. What he says about others is him speaking about himself. His legacy of a Trump monument is a Wall built with funds taken from our armed services and a COVID-19 cemetery which increases daily due to his action of inaction. Now he is trying to add our children to this monument by requiring schools to open with his action of inaction on safety guidelines. Maybe he will do an Executive Order for these children’s own COVID-19 Cemetery
