Katie Phang Said ‘The Defense Failed Today’ In The Chauvin Trial | The ReidOut | MSNBC

A former police officer and use-of-force expert, Barry Brodd, for the defense testified Tuesday he believed Derek Chauvin “was justified" in his actions and acted reasonably during his fatal encounter with George Floyd. Katie Phang says the defense ‘failed today:’ “Brodd was unlikable, I don’t know why the Defense put him on … If you ask the jurors to put themselves in the shoes of Derek Chauvin, none of them are going to say what that cop did reasonable.” Aired on 04/13/2021.

    1. @Sweet Willy YASSS EXACTLY IF ONLY HE WASNT IN A BLOOD HOLD FROM CHAUVIN HE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE BUT IT WAS THE DRUGS YES THE DRUGS HE WAS DYING BEFORE THE KNEE BUT AFTER THE KNEE HE WAS FOR REAL DEAD LIKE THE KNEE KILLED HIM BUT THE DRUGS WERE THERE THE DRUGS THE DRUGS DIDNT WORK BEFORE KNEEE BUT THEY DID AFTER SO NO KNEE YES ALIVE THEN YES KNEE NO ALIVE IT WASNT THE KNEE COULDNT HAVE BEEN IT WAS THE NO KNEE CAUSE THE NO KNEE WAS KILLING HIM BEFOFE HE ALMOST DIDED BEFORE THE KNEE BUT AFTER THE KNEE NOT ALIVE PERFECT SENSE YASSSS

    2. @Johnny Lawrence You sound insane. The only issue at hand if it is reasonable to believe that Floyd (no matter what you listed above) would have gone into cardiac arrest by SHEER COINCIDENCE right when Chauvin was on top of him. The odds of that happening are insanely small. Which proves that Chauvin’s actions substantially contributed to Floyd’s death. Case closed. Everything else is hand-waving by the defense. The burden of proof is REASONABLE doubt, not ANY DOUBT YOU CAN IMAGINE. Specifically, if you are claiming Fentanyl OD, nope Fentanyl OD causes coma, Floyd was never in a coma. And so on.

  1. If someone is overdosing and that’s there defense, that’s more of a reason to get your knee off there neck

    1. @Cognitive Supreme Do you mean” you’re not a smart person?” Perhaps. Regardless, one does not need to be smart to know if you occlude oxygen to the brain by compressing the carotid artery, restrict thoracic expansion by putting your weight on the chest then refuse to let emergency medical personnel check on the person there is a high probability of killing the person regardless of drug use. I suggest they demonstrate on the officer in question. Unless you would like to volunteer. I’m too intellectually challenged.

  2. Jesus that guy was literally only there to pick up the pay check. How on earth can it be argued that it was active resistance that he was moving his leg and face? Doubly so considering the argument that Floyd couldn’t breathe?

The amount of mental gymnastics he was pulling to try and stick onto his findings when the prosecution cross examined him was breathtaking.

    1. @jbeez what in the heck have you been watching? Literally ALL of the prosecutions witnesses have been for emotional appeal. The defense is the only one asking for facts. That’s a good sign that the prosecution doesn’t want to see the facts.

    2. @Crispin Fornoff lmfaoooooo wtfff are you guys watching its 12 days in the defense won maybe 3 out of those 12 wtf are yall watching

    3. @Carmelo Okc I see you clearly don’t know how a court works if you think that it’s done by number of days an uneducated person thinks the prosecution won.

  3. This ‘expert’ witness is also available for January 6th prosecutions, Bat Mitzvah and ribbon cuttings (please call Rudy or Sydney for booking details)…..

  4. They should have asked for a demonstration on the guy to show the jury that there is no pain with 90 pounds or more on his neck for 9 minutes … well, there is no pain after death!

    1. The trick is they don’t actually put 90lbs on you. That’s why it doesn’t hurt and that’s why there were NO SIGNS of asphyxiation or crushing caused by the knee. Hence, he died from drug use and a bad heart. He committed suicide.

    2. I couldn’t agree with you more. This maniac really shred any ounce of credibility he had going into this trial. How could you seriously look someone in the eye and justify such barbaric action and have the balls to say “there’s no pain in such technique” WTH?
I swear this dude just wake out of a bad dream and trying to put his thoughts together. Utter madness!

    3. @Mark Clifton no he isn’t. Although they didn’t do the same kneeling the cop did or the same spot, I commented that on the video, and I disagree with crowder about police brutality.

    4. Yes…Chauvin himself should demonstrate the non-lethality of what he did to Floyd by volunteering to be Floyd in a full throttle re-enactment.

  5. All you need know is for them to claim gravity and mass do not exist, or invite Chavins guardian angel as a witness.

    1. It completely backfired. The paramedic looked like she was under the influence herself, and she certainly didn’t help the defense in any which way. And the crazy cop screaming and yelling- just helps the jury see how unhinged these cops are, while George Floyd tries to follow their conflicting, contradictory demands with a gun pointing at him. During a freaking traffic stop.

    2. A drug that kills from stopping your breathing and a person that died from asphyxiation… yeah totally backfired lol.
I wonder how many jurors have reasonable doubt in their minds now..

  6. 90 lbs for 9 minutes on someone’s neck was not painful? I would.imagine not being able to breath is painful. Calling for his mother, he knew he was going to die.

  7. Defense: Hey there’s a nut out there that tried to argue being shot in the back 16 times wasn’t excessive force, maybe we can get him to testify in our trial??….

    Nut: _ _ , _ _ _$ and I’ll say anything that you want me to say!!

Defense: you have yourself a deal mr nut!
