    1. General population is travelling, an acquaintance is in Mexico, some are willing to do the due diligence and get tests. But they aren’t in the job of telling others what to do.

    2. @Raynus 1 you are totally missing the point and you know it, The reason they have been recommending avoiding non essential travel since MARCH is because things can change fast (see UK recently) and you are in a greater position to get sick while traveling but will get a hospital bed too while at home. Yes, it wasn’t illegal. But no, they didn’t follow the health guidelines that asked Canadians they avoid non essential travel abroad. All these excuses sound horribly childish. Everyone in the country knows that the recommendation is to not travel abroad, especially political staffers that didn’t lose a dime or hour of work all year. Plus they should be the example, i.e, set a HIGHER standard. It’s shameful. Nobody is saying it was illegal. It was wrong and they look like hypocrites.

    3. @JackJack Thompson Uhmmmm…no….you’re more likely to get sick going to the grocery store than travelling. That’s fact, not my words, but science.

    1. How is it rules for thee and not for me when everyone has the same rights? You can leave the country if you want.

    1. Haven. Thinking of others is not the same thing and you should know that. You want things to return to the way they were then everyone should have the sense to do the right thing. Health caregiver here

  1. Too late Kenny. Damage is already done. Anything less than resignations won’t fly. Hypocrisy at this the highest levels of leadership requires significant consequences.

    1. Nah. This is just politically expedient for the opposition. If it was the NDP there would be no push for resignation. Kenney took responsibility and is adjusting rules for public servants. Something a leader would do. No other politician has done that so far.

  2. So these ministers that leave the country on vacation, they don’t think they’re doing anything wrong but at the same time keep their trips secret? Their bosses say didn’t know they were leaving the country and now have to act shocked and upset? Oh yeah that’s all very believable. “Now that the holidays are over, I’m ordering no more vacations” What a useless statement. We’ll remember this at the next election.

  3. If you can’t see the problem with your MLA taking a full wage right now jettsetting while you bankrupt Albertans right now you are beyond help
Your just as bad as notley and Trudeau

  4. Always able to travel when you don’t get laid off. They are travelling on our money plain and simple.

  5. Canadian: “hey g00gle, set a reminder for the next provincial election about the actions/inactions and excuses made here today”
G00gle: “sure, reminder is set for the next provincial election”

    1. I actually think it is leadership because the easy thing would have been to fire her. He says that he is taking responsibility for not being clear enough. Although, it shouldn’t have to be spelled out, it seems that it was not stated explicitly that his staff and MLAs should not travel outside the country. However, I think that it shows terrible judgement on Allard’s part and she probably should resign. Phillips took it to another level with his fireside chat.
