  1. I empathize with the worker’s lost jobs and opportunities and the suffering it brings. We need to burn less oil. I don’t know how to reconcile these two needs.

    1. I wish more Canadians shared your rational view…we can work towards a greener energy future without shaming and trying to destroy an industry which has made immense contributions to the well being of Canada, and has filled a vital need for many decades. Oil will always be needed at some level of production if we want to continue to enjoy our way of life.

  2. This guy fooled Albertans for believing oil had a future. Oil is dead. Albertans just have to accept they wasted 1.6 billion on a failed pipeline.

    1. if you think that tomorrow we switch to electric only ( there is no other alternative ) you should make appointment with somebody to fix yours brain , oil will stay for another 25 – 50 years ,

  3. Cancelling the XL pipeline won’t reduce American oil consumption by a single barrel. They’ll just buy it from the Saudis or Venezuelans instead. Biden’s revocation of the permit is simply a grand gesture of virtue with no actual environmental benefit.

    1. LOL They will get cleaner oil that isn’t pumped through half the countries drinking water. The whiny excuses are getting pathetic.

    2. That’s not the reason why Biden cancelled it, He cancelled it because of the environemental dangers of an oil spillage, the type of oil that would’ve passed through the pipe is more likely to spill than crude oil so it would’ve affected the environment even more than a regular pipeline.

    3. Aside from reducing the risk of environmental damage from spillage into the aquifer, I expect one motivation was simply to reduce the production of heavy oil, which has a much larger carbon blueprint than light crude. If you can’t sell it, you won’t produce so much.

    1. This doesn’t include all the money him and government are pocketing. They have gutted gov reg oversight in order to rob our province blind. This piece of garbage needs to be held accountable with jail as far as I’m concerned.

    2. @Jonathan Edward Kenney was a crook when he worked with Harper. Alberta got what they asked for by voting for him.

    3. @Richard Mc Oh I agree, but there are a bunch of Progressives in AB that are disgusted & shouldn’t be suffering.
Myself included. There is this idea that Alberta only contains Conservatives which isn’t true. We have far too many politically literate idiots here unfortunately though!

    1. @Speaking Moistly hey didn’t you hear? You can just print money that doesn’t exist 😜 what’s the harm in that?

  4. Trump signed a presidential permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. It says right on the permit that it can be revoked at any time. If Kenny didn’t know that then shame on him.

  5. Middle east countries can make north american fracking companies useless overnight if they want. you would have to be dumb to believe this politician

  6. Lashing out because he gambled billions of taxpayer’s money on a project he knew would get killed if Trump lost. Now he needs someone to blame for his own incompetence.

  7. ..wow..i thought Doug Ford was way stupid……he does not want a trade war with the Americans..ketchup and golf clubs is it..?

  8. Considering that Quebec blocked the Energy East pipeline, which would have shipped heavy oil from Alberta to New Brunswick, why should we expect Americans to accept the Keystone pipeline from Alberta to Texas instead?  If it’s not acceptable to Quebec, why should it be acceptable to the states? Biden was elected to serve the interests of the USA, not eastern Canada.

  9. JT is as useless as a brick. how the hell did he not see this coming or done anything to stop it? Biden didn’t even take a pause and just outright killed it within hours of taking his presidency.

this is a huge slap in the face to Canada and JT just bends over for it.
