  1. Great and moving speech. Long live the King. Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II, you were an amazing and devoted Queen to your family and people all over the world. God bless your family and countymen and women at this heartbreaking time.

  2. Is it just me or are the British anchors deathly afraid of Charles taking a political stance.

Yeah he’s not using his mothers death as a platform to talk about political issues but it sounds fairly desperate.

    1. @resistancefighter no you didn’t you just put immigrants in quotation marks.

What are you talking about? Did 9 million people immigrate to the UK?

    2. @Xander Fulton
You’re not stupid, “immigration” is a hot topic in america.
Just put your hands up and admit you were wrong.

  3. Did Christiane Amanpour just claim that the line “Heavy is the head that wears the crown”, was written by some rapper? Shakespeare must be spinning in his grave right about now.

    1. She specifically mentioned the rapper who “quoted Shakespeare.” Buy some headphones or take extra comprehension skills classes. The only person you are failing is yourself.

    2. @Cassandra Arceneaux Misquoting Shakespeare actually.

The last line in a scene from Henry IV, part 2 | Act 3, Scene 1
      Shakespeare wrote

Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown

  4. By weight of history he means that everything he now says and does will result in his performance being compared with over a 1000 years of past Monarchs. Then future generations will study and write about him. A process we have already started here on YouTube.

    1. Also his role he’s inheriting is central to the constitution and constitutional monarchy and parliamentary rule – the very beginning of modern democracy in the world since 1689. Which then shaped and influenced the US and then Europe.

  5. He has been preparing for 73 years and waiting for it. I think he is ready for it and performs past, present and future generations to respectively, like his late mother and her majesty the queen longest reign whatever left for him.

  6. Dont worry our king, you have our love and support. We respect Her Majesty’s wishes . Our love , support, prayers and respect are with you.God save our King🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💐💕

  7. Before the storm?

    CHAPTER 1

    A FUNERAL

So gorgeous was the spectacle on the May morning of 1910 when nine kings rode in the funeral of Edward VII of England that the crowd, waiting in hushed and black-clad awe, could not keep back gasps of admiration. In scarlet and blue and green and purple, three by three the sovereigns rode through the palace gates, with plumed helmets, gold braid, crimson sashes, and jeweled orders flashing in the sun. After them came five heirs apparent, forty more imperial or royal highnesses, seven queens – four dowager and three regnant – and a scattering of special ambassadors from uncrowned countries. Together they represented seventy nations in the greatest assemblage of royalty and rank, ever gathered in one place and, of its kind, the last. The muffled tongue of Big Ben tolled nine by the clock as the cortege left the palace, but on history’s clock it was sunset, and the sun of the old world was setting in a dying blaze of splendor never to be seen again.
In the center of the front row rode the new king, George V. flanked on his left by the Duke of Connaught, the late king’s only surviving brother, and on his right by a person age to whom, acknowledged The Times, “belongs the first place among all the foreign mourners,” who “even when relations are most strained has never lost his popularity amongst us” – William II, Emperor of Germany. Mounted on a gray horse, wearing the scarlet uniform of a British Field Marshal, carrying the baton at that rank, the Kaiser had composed his features behind the famous upturned mustache in an expression “grave even to severity.” Of the several emotions churning his susceptible breast, some hints exist in his letters. “I am proud to call this place my home and to be a member of this royal family,” he wrote home after spending the night in Windsor Castle in the Cormer apartments of his mother.

Detachments from all the famous regiments, the Coldstreams, the Gordon Highlanders, the household cavalry and cavalry of the line, the Horse Guards and Lancers and Royal Fusiliers, brilliant Hussars and Dragoons of the German, Russian, Austrian, and other foreign cavalry units of which Edward had been honorary officer, admirals of the German Navy – almost, it seemed to some disapproving observers, too great a military show in the funeral of a man called the “Peacemaker”.

  8. I am so glad that King Charles does not have to pay inheritance tax, that just would not be fair to him. I don’t think he could lose that much of the royal families wealth. I am also glad that middle class people must pay the inheritance tax because it provides the government money to help with Ukraine. #FIGHTFORUKRAINE #IDCABOUTINFLATION

  9. Hey Charles… now perhaps you can pass a law to return the LOOT (trillions today) to the colonies whose LOOT built London and made countless British millionaires ?

  10. King Charles III.. with much of experiences linking to past century….. is the best gift from the Great Queen Elizabeth II to us.
