KKK Leader Bust Finally Being Removed From Tennessee Capitol

“Nathan Bedford Forrest is not some on-the-bubble figure—he was one of the most controversial and loathed men in the country in his time. He was a despicable war criminal. And it is about time that this monument to him and the evil he stood for comes down,” says Chris Hayes.

  1. Melt them down and make a freedom bell or some type of inspiring sculpture. About time.

    1. @J Ross Sell the toilet to Drumpf… he thinks everything yellow is gold… he even Paid for “Golden Showers”… remember?

    2. @Thomas Armsworthy Jr The only bust of Byrd is in those “visions of sugar-plumbs and Byrds” dancin’ through Your head at night… just before Your NIGHT TERRORS start… remember?

    3. @Frank Kent I like the spirit in which you said that but honestly, do you want to get high on his memory?

  2. trump incited an armed insurrection on january 6 2021 to overthrow a fair democratic election

    1. Thank God I got my dukes of hazzard……did they remove the statues of Robert Byrd since he was proud member of kkk

    1. It really has though, pay better attention. What hasn’t changed is the bad driving habits in Nashville!

    2. Read up about the massacre in Knoxville. Much like Tulsa, except they’re quite proud of themselves.

    3. @Thomas Armsworthy Jr Biden would know! Although Byrd renounced himself from the hate group, The racist Joe Biden should have never eulogized him. Imagine if trump had done something similar…! Such a double standard for the racist Democratic party!

  3. Daily Reminder: On January 6, 2021, Impeached former President Trump attacked America during a joint session of congress certifying the 2020 Election

    1. @Thomas Armsworthy Jr, too funny! Donnie jr.
Funny how you trust a guy who ran a fraudulent university, stole money from his own charities to buy portraits of himself! But he loves the uneducated!

  4. Who or how the F did that bust ever go into that building? I hope anyone that supported that bust may they have a realization how ugly they truly are.

    1. They wanted to announce to the world that they like the Klan values Forrest (EDIT: had a brain thing and originally thought his last name was Bedford rather than his middle name) stood for. I don’t think that kind of person is capable of realizing their own ugliness.

    2. Yeah, I wish this piece had at least mentioned what forces worked to get it installed. Imma look that up!

    1. @Bacardi Doggo How dumb are you. Have you not read 1619. It is being pushed by the Marxist left. Placed in schools. According to 1619 we did not fight the revolutionary war to gain our freedom from the British. We fought the war so we could keep slaves etc.

    2. @joan frederick Remembering history has nothing to do with creating a bust in support of a man who did so much harm. Everyone knows who Hitler is, how many busts do you see of him in their capitol? none.

There is a difference between teaching history and placing monuments in honor of men who were killing innocent people because of the amount of melanin in their skin. So, if you want to leave a bust up of NBF you should be just as proud to list all of his accomplishments of racial bigotry and tyranny underneath his plaque or bust.

*In April 1864, in what has been called “one of the bleakest, saddest events of American military history”, troops under Forrest’s command at the Battle of Fort Pillow massacred hundreds of troops, composed of black soldiers and white Tennessean Southern Loyalists fighting for the Union, who had already surrendered. Forrest was blamed for the slaughter in the Union press, and this news may have strengthened the North’s resolve to win the war. The slaughter was awful. Words cannot describe the scene. The poor black men would run up to our men fall upon their knees and with uplifted hands scream for mercy but they were ordered to their feet and then shot down. The white men fared but little better. Their fort turned out to be a great slaughter pen. Blood, human blood stood about in pools and brains could have been gathered up in any quantity. Forrest joined the Ku Klux Klan in 1867 (two years after its founding) and was elected its first Grand Wizard. The group was a loose collection of local factions throughout the former Confederacy that used violence and the threat of violence to maintain white control over the newly enfranchised former slaves. The Klan, with Forrest at the lead, suppressed voting rights of blacks in the South through violence and intimidation during the elections of 1868. Forrest in late life grew disillusioned with his racist ideology and ordered the KKK to disband. Sadly one cannot erase decades of hate and innocent lives murdered and tortured brutally with one tiny gesture before supposedly “meeting his maker”.*

A monument to this man is not remembering history it is glorifying who he was. Wrong Message!

    3. @joan frederick Today history is being made, now today will go down in history as the day Tennessee took a leap forward in

    1. Melted down, broken into as fine of fragments as possible (like sand if possible) and scattered over an undisclosed part of an ocean somewhere.

    2. @Hereturbie, that’s what happened with the condemned defendants in the Nuremberg Trials. After they were hanged, Hans Frank, Wilhelm Frick, Hermann Goering (who took cyanide hours before he was to don the noose), Alfred Jodl, Ernst Kaltenbrunner, Wilhelm Keitel, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Alfred Rosenberg, Fritz Sauckel, Arthur Seyss-Inquart and Julius Streicher were cremated in the ovens at Dachau concentration camp and the ashes were scattered at an undisclosed location on the banks of the Isar River.

    3. @Thomas Armsworthy Jr
Well Robert Carlyle Byrd was “ THE “ Senator from
      West Virginia.
Robe wearing, Foul Mouthed Dinosaur, Left over from the Racial Division.
From the first shot of the civil war in 1861 on Ft. Sumter.
      He stayed so long.
I thought he would die on the senate floor.

However Im afraid we would have to confront West Virginia and Ole Democratic Joe ManChin the guy that votes for Anything Republican and Nothing Democratic. Even Though he IS a Democrat.

Currently W. Virginia is Seeking Governmental Protection for their Monuments from the Historical Society as part of America’s Historical Sightseeing Tourist Traps.

      Personal View Point;
Only Possum Eating, Moonshine Swilling, Slave Owning Idiots would Attack the Rightful Govt. of the United States of America.
THEN, Spend 149 years celebrating Every “ Loser “
General and “ Loser “ Battle fought during a tragic period in our country.
WHILE,,,,Dressed up in a Uniform that should permit them to be shot on sight.
Camping like it was 149 years ago, for DAY’s on End.
      Celebrating their “ Loser “

Then Boooooom, From NEW YORK CITY, a Psychopath Rises.
With a Litany of Psychological Personality Issue’s from that are covered in the DSM-5.
About 1/4 of the current publication.
Then he whoops a Angry Mob into a Froth. For the first time in this country’s history the Confederate Battle Flag gets flown inside the U.S. Capital Rotunda.
      BECAUSE HE’s,
      “The Biggest Loser “

Untie the USS Constitution from her mooring and make ready for sea.
Anchor her in the Potomac and Extend the Yard Arm.
I could start listing the Perpetrators inside our own Congress & Senate that Incited, Conspired before and Assisted During, the Violence that took Life’s of law enforcement officers.
You know card carrying members of the
      “ Law & Order “ party.
Those Current & Retired Fire Fighters, Law Enforcement & Military Personnel.
THEN,,, tried to pull off a Banana Republic Coup.
      Deep Breath.
      As Capt John Paul Jones
      would have said
“ Hang Them From The Yard Arm”
      “ KeelHaul Them “
In the meantime I’m living on Natan Bedfords Old Farm.
Keeping the Unvaccinated, Around an ENTIRE population of personnel in state & local Government that Took Deferrals from Military Service during the South East Asian Conflict.
AS FAR AWAY FROM ME AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE, Cause these people.
Just Ain’t Right In the Head.

    1. @eltorocal You are a lying a-shole. Whig party were to become
The modern Democratic Party emerged in the late 1820s from former factions of the Democratic-Republican Party, which had largely collapsed by 1824. The Whig party1830s and the early 1850s Alarmed, anti-slavery Whigs spun off to found the GOP (short for “Grand Old Party” ) Republican 1854

    1. The South likes to hold on to that Lost Cause from The Civil War and the reason that is that way is because The North let them go without punishing them for their betrayal to The United States Of America. Some of those Southern States have remnants of The Confederate Flag on their State Flags as well.

    1. @Bill P. southern democrats were KKK members but then they change to GOP then change to trumpublican

  5. Halle-freakin’-lujah !!!!! IT’S TIME!

    1. @Brian Robinson if there was any bust of George Floyd I would hope people or birds crap all over it.. Libs make a martyr out of a criminal

    2. @Thomas Armsworthy Jr well I guess we all now know who and what you support and are all about. Thanks, but last I heard there had to be trial and a conviction before someone was labeled a criminal, using your logic though we should go ahead and throw trump in a cage huh?

    1. It’s really unbelievable that they even got the idea of building a bust of this war criminal. Nobody here would even think of making an AH statue…Kind regards from Germany

    2. Any man who tried to prevent the decadent and depraved world normalized now? Should have a statue of him. Now go lie down.

    1. The state of Texas itself would probably buy it……make copies…..and place the copies in voter registration offices.

    1. Not until we have the trials of the Trump-Kushner crime family. Their legacy will be prison, and more disgrace.

    1. Not true! I’m not a trump supporter but I did vote for him because I thought he was the better of the two evils, but that bust should have never been made and placed on a pedestal

    1. Like the democrat party that was founded by southern slave owners. Or the same democrat party that started the klan to terrorize the freed slaves in the south or the same democrat party that made jim crow laws. Why does the party of the clan Change it’s name?

    2. Or Robert Byrd democrat who retired from congress in 2007 who was a open member of the clan. Biden spoke at his funeral and said he was his mentor.

    3. @cynthia m you have no argument my statement is backed by historical fact your statement is a straw man argument and everyone including yourself knows it.
