yeah, you need 80% compliance or it doesn’t do all that much good to the herd. Sigh. And if it costs, the 50% of people who won’t have insurance by that point won’t be getting it in the US but 180 sane countries with free vaccines will do better. So good luck with vaccines, even if, and I’m still skeptical that we’ll ever have one. The new Chinese one (STAT news, Helen Branswell, says) only has 10% efficacy for people over 60 and there are side effects. Those kinds of numbers don’t impress me.

When this all started, I asked my brother how bad it is because he’s a physician. He told me that it’s 100 times worse than the regular seasonal flu. I’ve had that before and I want no part of something 100 times worse
