One person at a time. That’s what I’ve been doing with these comments; trying to reach out to people one at a time to make a difference. Am I succeeding? I’ll never know. But if just one more person starts wearing a mask (and covering their nose or it is worthless), washing their hands a full 20 seconds and social distancing – I’ll take it. Spread the word – kindness & compassion are the best antidotes to anger, pain and fear. Encourage people to do their own research beyond social media. Like every vote counts – so does every mask. Please be respectful too. Stay safe out there everyone. We can do this.

@Brian Nave Simply not true. However, can you account for the over 200,000 deaths attributed to pneumonia over the past 10 months, on CDC’s website? The annual total deaths have been between 24,000-60,000 for a calendar year, for the past 20+ years.🤔

    • Town _Biznessman | October 28, 2020 at 6:33 PM | Reply

@kathy weis Agreed! I’m a huge fan of Voltaire, Confucius, Clarence Darrow, and Mark Twain’s philosophical words, as those to live by, as well.

    • @Town _Biznessman you named my favorites….😎👍😘

  2. All of the Trump supporters here are acting like Hunter Biden and name-calling are somehow going to help Trump. They don’t get that, it isn’t going to work this time. People are on to the con. There’s a tiny amount of undecideds, everyone else has made up their minds. It’s patheitic.

    • @Titan 954 apparently smarter than you since all those inditments had nothing to do with trump . Nice try

    • Trump did not get rid of the infectious disease task force. Many of the top experts from that office are still there, they’re just working under the umbrella of the counterproliferation and biodefense office on the National Security Council (NSC). Trump made the task force MORE EFFICIENT! But you don’t want to bother with facts, you listen to what the LYING FAKE NEWS media says about TRUMP!

    • @MB Trump Huh? Well can we hear from them at least once a week speaking from the NSC then? So we can info from experts?

    • @Easternsun American’s aren’t buying it though. Doesn’t matter what you “believe”.

    • @Criminal Law Americans aren’t buying it . Grossly over stayed since some Americans are indeed buying it .

  3. It’s not rocket science. Mask mandates, limiting size of gatherings, Someone tests positive you track who they contacted make them self isolate for 2 weeks test them multiple times during that 2 week period to see if they’re infected.

In Britain we have track and trace on our phones we scan a code on the door of a building before we go in any problems you get a message on your phone. Been lucky so far

    • @Hanny Hawkins The upside is that, even though a lot of innocent people are dying, the fools who deny the dangers and avoid the use of masks are statistically more likely to get sick and die. It’s called ‘herd mentality’, I think… Slowly eliminating the stupid people from our society.

  4. Yet,trumps hving events where ppl arent wearing masks.smh.dangerous move for a man that’s LOSING😷🤮

  5. History will remember Trump. For generations to come children will be singing, “Ring-a-round the covid . . . A pocket full of posies . . . Trump says husha hoaxa! . . .But we all fall down!”

    • @Brian Nave OAN which also claimed Covid was a globalist conspiracy” involving the Clintons, Soros, Bill Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and the Chinese government.
My toe nails are a better source of news then OAN.

    • CDC numbers reveal hospitals counted over 130,000 deaths from pneumonia, influenza, heart attack, as Covid-19…!

    • @Brian Nave ok russia bot

    • Update from CDC
Of the 220,000 deaths reported as due to COVID, the actual cause was:
      88,208 – pneumonia & influenza
      17, 799 – chronic respiratory disease
      26, 365 – respiratory distress synd.
      44, 261 – hypertensive disease
      23, 275 -heart disease
      28, 000 -cardiac arrest

Your being lied to wake up Trump 2020👍👍👍👍👍👍

    • Sad but very true . His legalese is leaving untold thousands dead.

  6. There are many smart and good people doing the right things, but many, including our sociopathic impeached fake “president” are not – not wearing masks, not social distancing, some denying the virulence, even ~existence~ of Covid. So, we’re the number one country in the world in cases and deaths and tRump could not care less.

  7. The orange jerk is making Covid-19 great again.

    • The Amount Of Virus In The U.S. Is So Large because the Govt let it expand unchecked. It is the fault of your leader…oops, I forgot you had none.

    • Orange man good.

    The Trump Holocaust—how it happened
Jan 20: “I know more about viruses than anyone.”

Jan 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

Feb 2: “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

Feb 7: “You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed. And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus….This is deadly stuff.”

Feb 10: “I think the virus is going to be — it’s going to be fine.”

Feb 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

Feb 25: “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus.”

Feb 25: “I think that’s a problem that’s going to go away… They have studied it. They know very much. In fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.”

Feb 26: “The 15 (cases in the US) within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.”

Feb 27: “One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Feb 28: “We’re ordering a lot of supplies. We’re ordering a lot of, uh, elements that frankly we wouldn’t be ordering unless it was something like this. But we’re ordering a lot of different elements of medical.”

Mar 5: “The United States… has, as of now, only 129 cases… and 11 deaths. We are working very hard to keep these numbers as low as possible!”

Mar 6: “I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it … Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.”

Mar 6: “I don’t need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn’t our fault.”…

Mar 19: “I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down because I don’t want to create a panic.”

Apr 23 “So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.”

@Dave Typical cultish reasoning. Sad. Trump is a killer. If one person had died of Ebola you would have tried to lynch Obama.

  10. _NOTE! This is an old style broadside, not a “Tweet”. If it’s too much for you to handle, move on. But If you’re deeply appalled by what’s happening in this Country, and you’re just needing a kick in the pants to go out and vote, read on_
    _A Broadside_

*WE HONOR AND CHERISH* the memory, the courage, and the spirit of those Americans who suffered and fought and died whether willingly or unwillingly in the name of our Nation: on the battlefields, on the cotton fields, on the Great Plains and the River Valleys, and those Americans who are today being assaulted, beaten, shot and murdered by unrepentant and undeniably racist police forces befitting a fascist regime, and those Americans who daily fill our hospitals fighting a novel virus, contagious and deadly. But if we wish to make this claim of honor true, first we must honor Truth itself; for, Truth is the only thing that cannot be overcome. *AND TRUTH IS NOW TELLING US WHAT MUST BE DONE!*

    👉 *His* fluency of falsehoods,
👉 *His* fear of criticism and responsibility,
👉 *His* insistence on taking credit where credit is not due,
👉 *His* deficit of emotion-regulation resulting in juvenile displays, personal attacks and insults unbecoming an adult,
👉 *His* incumbency and his bid for reelection being void of any plan, agenda, mandate, message, or ideas,
👉 *His* open threat to decline a peaceful transfer of power should he lose his bid for reelection,
👉 *His* inability to maintain discretion on social media _and_
👉 *His* increasingly odious and unstatesmanlike behavior that indicates a pathologically unstable personality such that:
*President Donald Trump has indisputably forfeited the trust and the confidence of those government confrères in his charge that procure sensitive and secret knowledge of matters affecting national security they cannot in good confidence share with him — their President and Commander-in-Chief!*

*THIS SITUATION* is unworkable, and gives rise to threats both domestic and foreign to the United States. *WE CANNOT AFFORD THE LUXURY OF BEING AFRAID!* Our moment, described as an “Inflection Point”, has come calling and in this election year of 2020, we have something to do — Let this be _OUR_ remedy!

*OUR NATION* imperfect, ever learning and self-correcting, possesses the keys to enjoy “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. Nevertheless there come, from time to time, challenges to this ideal that require remediation. In these times we shall insist that our citizenship be recognized and counted, uncontested!

*The case against the President is prima facie inasmuch as:*

👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has been derelict in his duties,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has undermined The Constitution of the United States,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has committed acts of human cruelty at our Nation’s southern border – potentially to include crimes against humanity,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has been impeached,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has been found and confirmed as having lied to the American people about the true nature of the seriousness of COVID-19,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has not achieved any tangible act toward the betterment of the Nation,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has withheld information he is required by law to produce,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has verbally insulted our Servicemen and Servicewomen in our Nation’s military – calling them “suckers”,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has been curiously evasive amid investigations persuant to the nature of his relationship with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has openly encouraged extreme street violence at the level of complicity,
👉 *THIS PRESIDENT* has perverted the utility of America’s federal defense and peace-keeping forces by turning them against America herself!

_This list of offenses, while not exhaustive, provides more than enough cause to pursue criminal charges!_

*WE SHALL* lawfully heed any required safety measures due to COVID-19 without protest or complaint to include wearing face coverings, gloves, and practicing social distancing. _And we shall do these things because as Americans, we care – above all – about the wellbeing of our fellow citizens._

*WE SHALL NOT* tolerate any barriers, threats, obstructions, hindrances or intrigues of any kind by any party whether from inside the United States or abroad by design or effect that suppresses, deters, delays, denies, manipulates, interrupts, or otherwise alters *OUR CIVIL RIGHT AND OUR CIVIC DUTY TO CAST OUR VOTE, INVIOLATE, AS IT IS GUARANTEED BY THE LAW OF THE LAND — ON OR BEFORE ELECTION DAY — TO REMOVE PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP AND HIS ADMINISTRATION AND REPLACE THEM WITH JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS — IN THE NAME OF TRUTH, FOR THE SAKE OF JUSTICE, AND TO RESTORE THE PEACE!*

  11. You’d think people would remember why Typhoid Mary was placed in isolation . . .?

  12. Louise Australia | October 28, 2020 at 8:36 AM | Reply

Testing and tracing seems to have worked for us so far in Australia. We’ve had the lockdowns and border closures, and we’ve also had less deaths. Masks, social distancing and hand washing/sanitising have played a large part of keeping people safe…..not just looking after YOU, also looking after everyone else.

    • @HOME TEAM Yes, the H1N1 experience is why Obama went on-out on pandemic preparedness, even leaving a literal pandemic playbook for Trump and taking Trump’s tea, through a pandemic war game exercise. Then, when the pandemic came along, Trump totally ignored it.

    • @Hanny Hawkins that is completely untrue. Trump acted when no one thought he should, even got attacked for it. Made sure every state had enough ppe. Its not his fault if people don’t use ppe properly! Democrat government let some people get away with murder! Look at this and tell me how Trump is at fault

    • @HOME TEAM Trump did ONE things and it wasn’t enough. He restricted some flights from China. Not all, just some. Tens of thousands of people flew in from China after his ‘ban’. Meanwhile other countries were closing their borders totally. But Trump didn’t do the most important thing: the virus was ALREADY in the USA and spreading silently, Instead of testing, contact tracing and stamping it out, like other countries did, Trump did nothing, he said it would magically disappear. But he told his Wall Street donors it was a big problem, so they could short the market and make money off all the dead Americans. Restricting flights from China was USELESS without testing, contact tracing and isolating patients with the virus. Countries that did this have successfully contained the virus. Life is pretty normal where I live – there is no virus. Even many very poor countries managed to do this. But Trump went into denial and pretended it would magically go away. And now over 220 thousand Americans are dead, with many more to come as the virus continues to spread, unchecked through America.

    • @Hanny Hawkins sounds like a lot of armchair quarterback to me. Easy to say what should have been done…..but back then, no one really knew what to do. It was way more potent and powerful than H1N1. One day your scientists said it wasn’t airborne, then it was, one day masks were ineffective, now they are. One day we thought we needed ventilators then we didn’t. Easy to have hindsight but at the time, no had sure answers

    • @Hanny Hawkins one thing I do know. Democrats seem to love their power to restrict business and close them down but they let thousands of blm and antifa thugs run the streets like crazy. That was Trump too though right?

  13. America’s biggest mistake was NOT testing and tracing…and don’t get me started on mass refusal to wear a mask !! 😠😠

  14. Going to be holed up in our homes awaiting the pestilence of death to pass this fall and winter. I’ll be eating lot’s of canned beans. No Goya beans 🚫

  15. We have a backlog of testing here in Canada and in most provinces cases are spiking but not uncontrollably…thank goodness. It’s going to be a long winter and a challenge for most but it will end eventually just do your best to take care.

    • 🙁 PLEASE try to get it controlled now! It really is going to get bad over winter & get out of control VERY easily! You’ve beeten the odds so far & done SO well given you’re southern neighbour, so please try to keep it up now!
      love Australia

  16. Trumpshenko’s USA is comparing miserably. In Japan we have 1600 dead total. Schools safely open since June. Shops, stadiums, restaurants open. 3% unemployment. No crazy medical bills because we have national health. Tracing & testing done in a focused and vigorous way. My PCR test done same day I called hospital. Next day results. Cost? 20USD. All wear masks. A conservative gov that lies about many things didn’t lie about Covid. All gov officials wear masks (or they wouldn’t have a job). So, now you know. You can, like a miracle, make Trumpshenko go away. Or you can continue to wallow in insane misery and death. Your choice. Vote or continue to be that schighthole Trumpshenko thinks is somewhere else.

    • Are you hearing any talk of “travel bubbles” over there yet? In Australia we have a travel “funnel” operational to NZ (they can come here but not go home yet) with plans to convert that into a travel bubble very soon, Fiji will be next to join & then South Pacific Islands & after that, our government is keen to expand to Japan, Singapore & South Korea, are you hearing any talk about that there?

    • btw we don’t pay to get covid tests here, we get PAID to have them! $450 to be tested, conditional to staying home until we get the results through (usually within 24 hours) & if the test is positive, we get paid another $1,500 to stay home for 2 weeks. 0 cases for the last 2 days, 14 day rolling average of cases is currently at 2.9, but dropping fast. Melbourne’s just starting to re-open, eveywhere else has been open/opening since April

  17. The amount of virus in the US is so large because Trump is pro-virus.

  18. Stephen McDonald | October 28, 2020 at 9:25 AM | Reply

Reasons why Canada is comparatively successful in dealing with a very difficult virus: 1. Federal & Provincial cooperation 2. Socialized medical system which responds quickly & has standardized processes 3. Keeping the virus a health issue and avoiding politics. 4. Large-scale testing and follow up were done EARLY ON in the pandemic 4. Population is following mitigation protocols.

    • The Canadian political system is also far superior than the American system. The American re-election rate is so high that politicians are not accountable to the public. Over the last 10 election cycles, 94 per cent of House members and 87 per cent of senators were returned, and some of those who weren’t died or retired. Parliamentary Q&A periods keep the governing party accountable. Think the daily press briefings but the opposition asks the questions and the government must answer in the house. The American system runs on backroom deals, political speeches to a nearly empty chamber. The president’s cabinet is unelected and they go in their own direction independent of the house. In Canada each cabinet minister must be an elected member of parliament/legislature. Although the senate in Canada is unelected and can delay legislation by requesting amendments the ruling government will load the senate full of abiding senators to fill vacant positions should the senate in Canada pull a McConnell stunt of prevent tabling legislation. In Canada the senate’s role in government hangs by a thread. However, the Canadian system has a contingency plan to deal with McConnell stunts which could result in kicking all of them out of their life-time unelected positions. There is no senate for provincial legislatures. So for the provinces the politicians are directly accountable to the public.

    • the southern border being closed was also critical to your success!

    • @Me Here and no wall was required.

    • @Darrin Fry yeh, funny that lol 🙂

  19. I’ve said it before and I repeat it again. We knew this was going to be very bad back in January when we knew there was asymptomatic carrier spread. Yet, we just stood by and let it grow.

  20. At a time when America _really_ needed a Franklin Roosevelt, GOP gave us a Hoover that _really_ sucks!
