    1. Crystal Giddens – What is your point? If you are still trying to push that “Trump fighting corruption” angle, you are obviously willfully blind. That is literally the most lame, nonsensical excuse I have ever heard in my life for anything. I’m shocked at my ability to be shocked anymore by you peoples’ cult mentality.

    2. Jaccl – Santorum is a paid CNN contributor. That’s why he comes back. I think it’s funny that, not only does he present the pro-Trump perspective, he does it with such enthusiasm that he interrupts to jump in with those ridiculous excuses. You would think he would want to say as little as possible. He must truly believe his bs.

    3. The Civilian Government Doesn’t Owe Deference to Military Officers
In a properly functioning government, no one would tolerate a military officer lecturing a civilian on how to address him “correctly.”

    1. @Gregg Mueller didn’t charge because of the OLC memos, which says a sitting pres cannot be indicted, that’s the shield that has protected him so far. He should thank Mueller for being an institutionalist. Not to mention he is individual 1 in New York for violating campaign finance over paying off affairs.

    2. @C Salomon Incorrect. When Mueller gave his testimony he did say that because of OLC he didn’t charge him. They went to a commercial shortly after that and when they came back he immediately corrected his testimony. He said clearly OLC was not the reason he didn’t charge him and amended his testimony. Everyone saw it.

    3. @Gregg Well my friend, Mueller didn’t clear him, there were 10 counts of obstructions. He left it up to Congress to take the next step. Ask yourself, if the shoe was on the other foot, would you be okay with it? He is setting up precedents for future presidents. Will you be willing to live with that?

    4. @C Salomon Yup. I’m good with it. Mueller’s report was a sham and I hope they go after him. He knew a long time ago there was no “there there.” It was painfully obvious he didn’t even write his own report and all fingers point to Weissmann. He didn’t want to testify but the Democrats made him and his testimony was a huge embarrassment to them. He didn’t even know who Fusion GPS was……so he claimed under oath. It wasn’t Mueller’s job to “clear him.” He either recommends charges or not. 2 years and $35M of wasted tax dollars and he didn’t even do his job. If Weissman could have got Trump for j-walking he would have. The Mueller rag is old news. He went out an old feeble man.

  1. “We have a president who does a lot of outrageous things…”
…so we should just accept that he does outrageous things?
…so we should just accept that he sometimes breaks code of conduct?
…so we should just accept that he lies and spreads misinformation?
…so we should just accept that he severely compromises national security?
…so we should just accept that he goes against all advice and information from US intelligence and expertise?

…really? Is this what Republican arguments has come to? “he does this all the time, it’s who he is.”
What an absolute joke, Trump is a criminal and surrounds himself with criminals as he’s done all his life.

    1. @Patrick Steil If it was just about crimes provable in a court of law, then he would already be put away. But the justice department doesn’t convict presidents as a rule. If the president has done something wrong, then it’s up to congress to do something about it, which is exactly what they’re doing. Unfortunately we have a congress that seems to care much more about what helps their own “team” than what’s right or wrong. So Democrats have all been convinced from the start, and Republicans are going to stubbornly defend the president unless he comes right out and says “I TOTALLY COMMITTED CRIMES GUYS”.

But based on the testimonies so far, I’m personally convinced that the president committed an impeachable offense. He directly asked a foreign power to open an investigation into private U.S. citizens, and a political rival at that, while dangling aid money over their heads. This garbage argument about “oh, he’s really just concerned about corruption” is not convincing me; corruption extends beyond any single person or corporation. The name “Biden” should have never been mentioned in connection to it. The fact that all this focus was on just one company also makes that argument fall flat.

    2. @stephen glover the economy was growing under Obama. Trump just happened to have the ability to ride Obama’s wave. There’s more jobs but with that everything else went up, with with that being said people have to try to get a second job. How can we have more jobs that people are in more debt. Trump and his con artist cut back all kind of regulations to prevent loan companies from screwing people over. Look how Betsy DeVos is screwing college kids over. Republicans talk about fiscal responsibility and the budget being low. Look how screwed up the national debt is now under Trump in the rest of his cons

    3. @Gags GAGS he’s broken emoluments clause, obstruction of justice, he’s about to get busted for lying to Congress well lying to Mueller and his written answers. Cuz his buddy Rodger Stone was just convicted on 7 counts for doing the exact same thing. Let’s say extortion and bribery. Should I continue? The only reason he wasn’t convicted during the Mueller report was because a dog memo stating that you can indict a sitting president. Let’s take a step back and look at Trump throughout the years. He got sued for racially discriminating against black people, him and his con artist kids we’re busted for defrauding a charitable Foundation, he was sued for scamming people with his Trump University, he went bankrupt six times, lied on his taxes. So with just that alone you don’t think Trump would ever commit any crime in office? With that being said do you honestly think Trump is worried about corruption, he is the definition of corruption.

    4. MrGlennJohnsen I so agree and so well stated. We have to get back to the rule of law the US constitution, this man has taken a sworn oath to uphold and protect this, hes violated this, his defenders say he was wrong ok but it’s not impeachable, my question what is? You nailed it sir..I commend your comment I have such respect for you..no lie 👍

  2. “He surrounds himself with people that keep him on the straight and narrow” is not the best defence for Trump.

    1. @Butch Lane Good comment! All the world hears from Donald, the dictator wannabe, is insane lies and the most horrible insults and name-callings. He has deeply degraded the presidency and has made America an untrustworthy ally – or rather – not at all an ally (not sure I spelled that correctly). Make people vote, any democrat will do, just any. We are afraid of this Russia lover lunatic.

    2. @London Hunter Biden is a lawyer and lobbyist he co-founded Rosemont Seneca Partners, an international consulting firm.
And just as R.Guiliani has done the exact same thing it is not unusual for a lawyer to sit on the board of a company. DJT falsely claimed Joe Biden had sought the dismissal of a Ukrainian prosecutor in order to protect Hunter Biden from investigation. However, there is no evidence of wrongdoing done by H.Biden and the only one continuing to claim otherwise is DJT.
Have you displayed the same bother when the children of other officials have pursued similar benefits.?
But it also might benefit to look outside the Conservative links that are attempting to motivate the false narrative. Let it go. DJT’s children are doing much the same currently, why are you not as bothered by what’s happening right now.?

  3. “He has a lot of people around him to make sure we stay on the straight and narrow.” Rick seems to have a very low bar for leadership.

  4. She absolutely floored him with logic, the republican s are not familiar with logic. Little rick has no answers his defenses for trump were insane

    1. @motown 313 biden’s still need to be investigated otherwise it just sends a message to all future politicians that nepotism is ok and if you’re are running you are protected. Whether you are on the right or left, that is simply dead wrong. I bet you Trump will be still there in 2020 and have a good chance of being re-elected whether you love or hate him. I see you are firmly in the hate category

    2. @stephen glover did you just bring up nepotism and biden….meanwhile dumps dumb kids are working in the white house? Stop with the insanity. There was nothing to investigate. A wild baseless conspiracy theory. The prosecutor in question that biden helped remove was universally hated by all of our European allies….the IMF….by Ukrainian watchdog groups….and the US CONGRESS on both sides….it was not biden alone who wanted his removal. Those are just facts…..as soon as dumps tax returns are exposed his crimes will be too blatant to ignore….dump will be in prison by 2020….tick tock

  5. There is a lot of acceptance on his own side that the President does outrageous things and 80-90% of what he says should be ignored.

    How is this acceptable?

    1. Bugster987 – The GOP had ample time to cut and run. The fact that they doubled down on their support for that criminal means i give zero shits that Trump is making things difficult for them. Ask the people of NY. They told the country exactly who Trump was. It’s not like he suddenly turned into a complete criminal sleazebag only AFTER he got elected. Republicans deserve every horrible thing that is happening to their party after WILLINGLY hitching their wagons to the pussygrabber.

  6. When you’re making the argument that the president shouldn’t be impeached because the subordinates around him are able to check his worst impulses… you’ve lost the argument

    1. @The Giving Family your delusional if you think impeachment wont backfire haha. Republicans have always been cowards so it’s not suprising.

    2. damien neimad very true but when you have people vote with emotions and not facts that’s what you get🤷🏽‍♂️

  7. “the reality is, he has a bunch of people around him who ensure we stay on the straight and narrow…” santorum forgets that these people are all testifying against trump, and that trump wants them fired so he can go back to selling out the country.
