The device, affixed underneath the John Street bridge, emits a high-frequency sound that's meant to discourage loitering in the area.

  1. The real story here is not the device, but why the hell do we have so many homeless??? That is where we need to start if we want to solve the problem. This is a band-aid.

    1. Exactly. Address the housing crisis and rising unaffordability issue, not put a band-aid and sweep the problems under the rug

  2. Has anyone been to oshawa in the last 2 years lol this sound thing will do absolutely nothing ask me I’d rather them be under the bridge so we no where they are now where are they downtown ?

  3. Wow, spending money to fight the homeless instead of helping them. We need more affordable housing and social programs not more speakers.

  4. I would have. Said it was for the birds. The bird crap can eat at the cement over the years. Change it to a falcon scream every minute or so.
