Britain will get its third prime minister in just over three years as the ruling Conservative Party announced Monday it had chosen Liz Truss to be its new leader after an internal party contest.

Truss replaces Boris Johnson, a controversial maverick who defied many of Britain's political traditions. Johnson resigned in July after senior members of his government turned against him amid a series of scandals connected to breaking his own coronavirus lockdown rules and waning appetite for his brand of populist politics.

    1. @Practical I ChingJust had this conversation with someone in the UK. The young people are being taught to hate both Thatcher and Reagan. They weren’t even born then so they don’t know any different.

    1. Truss is certainly ‘ambitious’ (not in the complimentary way). Johnson stole the name and enthusiasm for Brexit from Jeremy Corbin, made it business-friendly only and didn’t help the English economy for most This “election” was the “choice” of just 2 candidates to serve out the rest of Boris Johnson’s term. They’re all from the same Party. Expect nothing except less for those who need it most and more for those who don’t need it but always demand it.

    1. So you think they would be better with the Indian? Thats what Ireland did and look at what has happened there.

  1. This reminds me of the circus where the driver and passenger switch seats, youre still headed to a sh*tty place

    1. @Head Shaker All the sooner you can get that prison sentence underway I guess. You can say hi to the Jan 6 people before they get to leave.

    2. @Joe Shaloom Prison for what? January 6th was an open house. Hey, what ever happened to the Committee put together to put Trump in prison? It just disappeared quietly😂 keep trying degenerate

  2. “I know that OUR beliefs resonate with the British people”
You would think that it would be assumed she has the same beliefs as the British people, being one herself…..but clearly it is an “us against them” mentality she is starting off with by insinuating that she has specifically separate beliefs that simply resonate with the beliefs of the people…not represent them.

    1. Yup! That’s “Thatcher 2.0” alright! All for show and while everyone is distracted, move the money from the pockets of the many into the pockets of the few.
