Hvypower 24/7 In Boston, several years ago, during a post Red Sox winning of the World Series, we had unruly (and likely intoxicated) crowd, mostly of college students, and the police tried to control the crowd with guns that shot bean bags. However, instead of firing low, some officers aimed high, and killed a college student. A thorough investigation followed, and policies regarding crowd control were changed. There was still celebrations following a team championship, but the police did a much better job of crowd control, damage and injuries were held at a minimum, and there were also public service announcements ahead of time, to try to educate the public, so that crowds wouldn’t get out of control. There were no further fatalities, and arrests were at a minimum. The circumstances were different; in Boston people were celebrating, not angry with the police, but the police LEARNED from that first failure, and successfully adapted their tactics, and by and large, were much more effective at controlling large crowds.
But from the distance the officer was at, firing ANY object at high speed, can cause a fatality. The reporter and crew weren’t wearing any protective gear that people wear when they engage in an activity using paintballs. Also, none of the other officers joined this lone rogue. Clearly, he wasn’t following any orders, he just wanted to target the media. He should be immediately fired, lose his pension, and word sent to other law enforcement advising other departments against hiring him. This incident will likely end up with a lawsuit.
Gery Galjour Just what crime was the reporter and the crew committing? There were no rioters in their vicinity. And only one officer approached them and fired. No other officer accompanied him. That strongly suggests that he was acting on his own.
But the news station, or the individuals in this crew will like file a lawsuit, and likely, the city will end up paying a settlement.

And for that matter, no riots. The only mass gatherings you will ever see are those where the crowd performs for the leader, and of course they will come out and express the deepest mourning when the leader dies… or else!
Val FckCommies I didn’t see “they”, I saw one police officer acting alone. That one should be fired. Also, while NBC is owned by Comcast, and thus owned by the corporate elite, this is a local, not a national, reporter and crew. They are not likely raking in money.

The police are not judge, jury and executioner. Their job is to make arrests and bring people to court. Every person deserves the right to a fair trial before they are punished. They should not be punished in the form of police brutality before they are even proven guilty!
I’m not blaming Trump solely for police brutality nor am I blaming him solely for the death of George Floyd. But come on, you’ve got to admit their is an issue of police brutality in the United States and it doesn’t help when the president actively encourages it!

There is a video going around showing what is obviously a police officer breaking shop windows in Minneapolis and protestors asking him to stop and he threatens violence when a man follows asking why he is smashing windows with a hammer!!! The man was dressed in all black wearing a gas mask and carrying an umbrella. The umbrella is used to both block his face from CCTV and signal to police that he is one of them.

Today I watched a few reports coming out that there were 5 different groups in protests all around the US that were infiltrating these protests to do nefarious deeds- violence, destruction of property, to change the narrative, to change public opinion, to smear the US globally. Which Democrats were you referring to with your statement? “If they didn’t act like animals the cops would not need to be there” The protesters were very specific in their organization and wanted a PEACEFUL PROTEST. We watched some guys alone sneaking around destroying property with no emotion at all. It was their only motivation. The only thing they were there to do was cause chaos & change the story. Mostly to divide people & a country. To weaken it.

can’t speak for other countries, but the police in China rarely use excessive force, in fact they often use verbal methods to defuse the situation, if that doesn’t work they will risk their lives to restrain the criminal by hand, vast majority of Chinese police never carry firearm.
