  1. Stephanie: “Wait until she has kids, then she’ll feel trapped” 🙄

She won’t have kids because she can’t afford to. Teachers don’t have living wages. That’s what Stephanie isn’t getting.

    1. Thanks conspiracy theorist women! Since trump we went from 5 employees to over 500! You people wouldn’t know a good time if it ran you over!

    2. The choice of whether or not to have children is one of personal values. Personal economics don’t necessarily factor in it. If someone wants to have children, they’ll find a way to have it. To say that just because you’re facing economic hardship you’re less likely to have kids is oversimplifying it.

    3. JamieLan2011 Economics drives most things The growing income inequality will factor in many to not have kids. It’s already happening. Also it’s dumb to purposely have children you know you can’t afford.

  2. Gotta pity these poor rural Republicans. They hate the elites and rich people who are keeping them down, then turn around and vote for them because “at least they’re not trying to take my gun.”

    1. Have you been to or ever lived in a neo nazi leftist state? Must be nice having neighbors that can even speak your language!

    2. @Kaden Love training freedoms to protect your kids, Is that what I just heard? If you want to trade your safety for liberty you deserve neither!

    1. @austeritykills
What you say has a good deal of truth to it. Austerity, apart from a sometimes necessary short, sharp, and nasty correction, is lousy economic policy.
On the other hand, whack amole’s rather self-righteous posts here are perfectly sound: some people are going to make it regardless, and they aren’t going to make it by whining at the world.
The post-Sputnik generation of policy-makers have thrown a ton of money at education, which is certainly one, but only one, of the thing that needed to be done. Sadly, a very great deal of that money has gone into bureaucracy, comfort, and waste. It is incomprehensible and deeply stupid, that student debt should become a line-item in the national accounts on a par with housing mortgages. These all need to be reversed.

    2. Baby boomers caused these issues. Their parents gave them a great America financially viable for everyone. The government is now run by Corporations at this point. Baby boomers are the corrupt corporations and still voting for corrupt leaders fed to them by FOX, right-wing media, and fossil fuel/military Industrial billionaires. Parents caused this.

    3. @Dave S Trade schools are a better option now. A week ago I visited Notre Dame campus and talked with some of the students. The price for an education there is absolutely outrageous but the campus is beautiful and architecture is awesome. Somebody’s got to pay for it.

    1. Help the liberals win some. 6-3 it wont matter it will be 5-4 with the swing, Abortion will go 1st. That being

    2. Horrid is not the main Concern Citizens United makes the RW until it is removed and Kochs cant buy elections

    3. I believe you can do it. There are always obscure laws in the Books that if someone is willing to try can win

  3. Disgusting time under tRump and the Republicans….. and you would consider voting for tRump and his enablers again? Are you mad or just stupid?

    1. trump is not a viable option,,,he doesn`t even know where Colorado is located in our country(not his)trump is a failure by any standards,,when he looses in 20 and he will loose he will blame maga.

  4. Conservatives want to go back to a time……WHEN THEY WERE CHILDREN. When you point this out to them, they get really mad, but that also points to a nerve touched. THEY ARE TIRED OF BEING ADULTS. It’s really that simple.

    1. I have circled around that in my own thinking, but I never thought about it that concretely, and you are correct. To want Trump is to want a stern, protective parent who will use all necessary force to keep out the bad people (their POV, not mine, namely LGBTQ, Hispanics, and non-Trump[ists]). They are children, very angry children who want to break up the contemporary world they hate. My notifications are off. 10 24 19.

    2. gamediva2112 we have all seen them , guys with long hair, still listening to vinyl and don’t accept the new times. Refuse to grow up!

  5. We need the youth vote to triumph in 2020. I hope we can field a candidate who is progressive enough for them. Trump really hasn’t done much for his base and I hope they realize this on election day.

    1. You totally missed the point. They’re reporting what people are saying to them, not arguing that white culture should feel justified that the culture is shifting and what was once acceptable is no longer.

    1. How about the 1% start sharing (instead of stealing) the wealth, and then perhaps grown children won’t have to be a burden on society OR parents. We need livable wages.

      — Bernie Sanders 2020 —

    1. j0e Axford “jumped by 10%, WRONG, it’s 10% percentage points or almost 100%. MSM propaganda or ignorance?

  6. When your children are poorer than you, and when they have less opportunity, when they are in government financial debt, or sick, or disabled in some way, then Social Democracy is the only way out. Rise up like the young people of Hong Kong, Spain, Argentina, Ecuador, Lebanon, Turkey, as have a dozen other nations. Rise up with your fellow young peers and rebel against the elite who have robbed you and your family of equity.

    1. He surrendered the taxpayers’ leverage by ending the marginal tax rates that built the country from 1932 to Reagan.http://politicsthatwork.com/graphs/top-gdp-and-tax-rate Capital not taxed is capital hoarded and held for election propaganda. Nixon exited Bretton Woods to be first in China which meant embracing slave labor. Bretton Woods was against that and had job protections that Nixon unilaterally began eroding before Reagan nailed the coffin shut. Thus began the end of the middle class. Nobody paid that tax rate. Fred Koch paid for the roads he needed to bring his goods to market as the taxpayers’ roads were not strong enough. He thought taxpayers should pay for his roads and he should use them free even as he tears them up and makes them unsafe for our children. The average marginal tax paid after deductions for infrastructure and school construction was 35%. Romney paid 11%. Secretaries pay 28%.

    2. @dlee t True. Nixon also changed how the Federal Reserve worked starting the printing of money no longer backed 100% by gold. And the percentage of gold in Fort Knox to printed money has been systematically eroded since then. Reagan stepped it up a notch ending The honesty Doctrine bringing us the wave of Fake right-wing media. Koch, Mercer’s and their gaggle of billionaires are using these platforms to indoctrinate their way into privatizing America and the world into their pockets.

    3. He definitely started the downturn of the middle class and the decreases in public spending when he got rid of the wealth tax and enacted a corporate tax cut.

  7. That’s really rich that young republicans think the Dems are gonna ruin America. Don’t think a country run by Russian Oligarchs is gonna be a day at the park.
