You know the difference between Mark Cuban and Donald Trump. One’s a self made billionaire and the other one isn’t. One’s filed bankruptcy 6 times and the other one hasn’t.

@Cartell Jenkins I wanted to give you an update.. I start the moving process 1st thing in the a.m. the uhaul truck is out front. I did contact legal aid which they want me to come in for an appt & have stated the landlord is in the wrong. But the company the landlord uses (they manage his properties here in FL. since he resides in N.C.) found me a place not far from me & even though it is a few hundred more a month. I am going in half & half with a roommate (co-worker). I will be paying even less monthly so this is beneficial. Plus I am able to move everything to do a thorough deep cleaning, throw out what is not needed or donate & put stuff in a storage unit that is not needed. It will be strange situation for me to be a 40 year old sharing a room with someone, we are doing bunk beds but this helps him out & me financially due to the crisis. I am still seeking legal advice & will take them up on the appt once I get moved in & situated since I was harrassed & threatened with a vacate the premises notice when I have been a loyal tenant for 15 years. His (the homeowner’s) motive was just morally unethical during this time & unnecessary during a stay at home order being in effect. I am staying positive & compliant with what I can control. Due to the state reopening & me being immune compromised I decided to leave my job for the time being. I told my boss who opened up for dine-in’s that I do not feel safe. He did ask what he could do to make me feel safe because he does not want to lose me as an employee. I told him that I do not feel he could provide me the level of safe I want. Even if he required us to all wear mask that it would not help since this is a restaurant & people cannot eat with a mask on. I do feel bad doing this to my boss but he amazed me when he respected my decision. I have more then enough money saved up to continue helping my daughter who is 21 & lives in Georgia & to support my part in bills for about 5 months. I do not plan taking that amount of time away but if this continues to go the way it does. I have 2 options. Option#1: Hit the woods with all the survival crap I’ve ordered or Option#2: Look for a job working from home. Thank you for your prayers & response. I wish the best to you as well. I am still in shock that I decided for some away time from my job for this is not my nature & I will not file for unemployment for being at high risk due to my health but I felt like staying at home was needed. Again best of luck.

@Kellie Jones Hey Kellie!! Happy Mothers Day!! 🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷 Mannnn…. I hate moving!! Lol Sucks. But I like the roommate idea. Im a single guy with an apt…. But I had a roommate a few years back and it was really good financially. Yeah. You need to talk to someone about your landlords actions. Its not right. But at least you have a place and youll be able to save money with the roommate. I definitely think you should apply for unemployment. Employers pay into unemployment insurance. That money is allocated for these types of situations. Youve basically been laid off. The federal govt is adding additional funding to unemployment claims, to combat situations just like Yours!! Keep me in the loop… Lemme know how the move goes. Stay safe and healthy!! Ttys

    • Kellie Jones | May 10, 2020 at 9:17 PM | Reply

@Cartell Jenkins Thank you for the Happy Mothers day. Very kind. Yes I hate moving as well. I decided not to file for unemployment since I know so many here in Florida that have waited over 2 months now. I dont want to take away from them since they are struggling so badly. Alot of them still have not gotten the stimulas check either. I figured they ran out of money & that is why they are re opening so soon while the death rate climbs. I completely understand that we do need to be open to be a happy functional economy but I figured id lay low for a little bit to see what happens. Again best of wishes. It has been a pleasure. Thank you.

  6. As a Canadian, I received $2000 2 weeks ago, and will continue to get $2000 per month, for the next 3 months. I also received a tax refund, and an increase in Federal child support payments called CCB (Canadian Child Benefit). Our Prime Minister didn’t lie, cheat, deceive, obfuscate or endanger our lives. There is a world and government out there that cares for people’s well being when they lose their jobs due to extraordinary circumstances. Canada isn’t the only one, but how proud I am to be Canadian every single day. BTW….proud for many reasons.
I wish the same for our neighbours to the south, just ditch your Sociopath In Chief.

The 52 states are smaller individually than these countries and are still the richest country in the world thanks to blue state bailouts to red ones. Logistically state by state you can implement what Canada and the Europe has. The UK May only have 60+ million but London is over 11 million. It can be done. Canada mages despite its low density which brings other issues. These are excuses.

    • What you just received in money a socialist would embrace

    • Jo Shhhh, don’t tell anybody. You have socialism too. It’s not a bad word. What is deplorable is that you’re ALL against it, until you find yourself in a position where a family member or yourself. has been diagnosed with a serious, chronic, critical, or terminal illness, and has ZERO funds to pay any of it. Even working 3 jobs, because your minimum wage is reprehensible and you have no health insurance. Everyone works in Canada. We had a very low unemployment rate here till this recent health catastrophe. We are all covered with healthcare. We paid for it !!!!!!! Educate yourself before speaking please.

    • uhm, everyone in Canada isn’t getting that $2,000 lmao

@PinoyPapapizza It’s not about numbers it is what you do or don’t do. We take care of Canadians regardless of the party they vote for. It is about doing what is right and sometimes it is a hard to do what is right. We are not communist because we have health care for all Canadians or because we have employment insurance and other social programs and safe guards.

We have been in a “nightmare” for the last three years with this totally weird, lying, conman. And, then we have the coronavirus! This is another nightmare upon the Trump nightmare! This is all too much! Mark Cuban made me want to cry because he sounded smart and had some practical plans for the workers! Was so relieved that we did not have to be inflicted with Trumps uncaring, stupidity for at least one day! But, of course, Trump just could not keep out of the public view. Of course, he had to get in front of the cameras. Oh god, please, please, make this man go away for more than one day!

    • Akshat Desai | May 10, 2020 at 2:54 PM | Reply

@Kyle Taylor not salty. It’s about the sheer incompetency day in and day out.

    • Kyle Taylor | May 10, 2020 at 5:49 PM | Reply

@Akshat Desai One could say the media is also incompetent. Failing to report news accurately for years, nothings changed. But of course, they never take accountability for that. Both parties have their faults just like you and I, but what matters is the message that the media spreads. They’re trying to incite a pitchfork-wielding mob filled with negativity and hatred within the general public to ultimately attack the credibility of Donald Trump and his fitness to run as president. With that in mind, one could also say in terms of providing value to the country, the media has been in fact, quite incompetent in their ability to do so.

    • Akshat Desai | May 10, 2020 at 7:31 PM | Reply

@Kyle Taylor I agree. What America truly needs is a third major party. DNC and RNC have been in power to long and lost their morals and their drive. Lobbiest ruined everything.

One of the first things he said on March 11 when the news broke was to express concern for the hourly workers and a program to help them. That’s a leader.

  14. The cynic in me thinks the reason they want to “open up” so badly is so they can refuse unemployment benefits to people by saying their places of work are open for business.

    • Harry Sachs | May 8, 2020 at 1:07 AM | Reply

That’s not cynicism. Thats being realistic and aware of what’s actually occurring.

    • Mike Kotecki | May 9, 2020 at 7:25 PM | Reply

@Skip Russell They’re not refusing because they’re lazy or they just love living off a fraction of minimum wage. They refuse because you already have big companies saying they can’t(I mean won’t) implement social distancing, aren’t responsible for providing protective gear, but also bare no fault if said employees get sick on the job. They just refuse to do social distancing at a lot of thses companies cuz it means less work stations hummin’ and therefore less profits flowin’. Hooray for corporate capitalism. Complete Socialism isn’t the answer eithee but all the countries who had or instantly created a vast social safety net are in great shape since their citizens aren’t crying to come out of the shutdowns due to the fact that their govn’t guaranteed their between 75-100% of their wages, their healthcare and food assistance and no one in those governments has a viewpoint that the people who need that help are “beggers” or lazy and taking advantage of the system. The only people in the US who got huge gov’t aid and gave nothing in return or even asked for more are the huge corporations like airlines, fossil fuels, manufacturing etc. Meanwhile the common citizen wants only enough help to keep the roof over their family’s heads, food in the mouths and their bills from piling up for a few measly months until their job can SAFELY reopen, but boy are they lazy leaches

    • Kathy Massey | May 10, 2020 at 7:44 PM | Reply

Mike Kotecki Why is giving billions to big oil not considered a handout that they didn’t work for. Or folks like Boeing whose rich executives screw up to cut a couple of thousand bucks off their new planes and many people died. How are those not just handouts. That is poor management that all of us get fired for. But these rich guys do crappy even dangerous work and just say we are sorry and ask for billions more. And the middle class and poor workers are asking for enough to feed their families and keep them safe. So tired of fake news claims, tired old propaganda learned at rallies. So of poor people get food money, that is a handout, but Boeing and the like deserve billions. Wow, you know if you open your mind your brains won’t fall out. Go back a play Fortnight, play with your guns and ask yourself, if you or your kid dies from trumps BS decisions that he will care. He won’t. Good luck.

    • @binka21 Everyone thinks they know what to do without all the data the scientists and governors have before making the call to quarantine in order to flatten the curve. Remember asking people to keep it moving means hospitals and frontline doctors/nurses continue to work 12-16hr days and deal with deaths. Overwhelming the system and leaving more people to die in their own homes isnt best plan to “keep it moving” that’s just a person having no plan. We havent even shut down for 2 months to flatten the curve and you talking about 2-5years. Btw the government could have printed money for regular folks to get monthly UBI to continue to help the economy do well instead they giving the majority of the money to huge corporate masters.

    • @binka21 They don’t get it..why explain it to them..

    • Rainbow NtheDark Just stop. Go sign up as an essential worker.

    • @binka21 You make an interesting point. Quarantine the sick, not the healthy and open the economy. Anyone can spread it, healthy or sick, and it is highly contagious. It seems likely very many ppl, particularly elderly, who are obese, immune compromised, or suffer from any of numerous organ disorders like cardiac, diabetes, pulmonary, kidney/liver etc, will eventually contract the virus. The outcome is a coin toss for many. In essence, you can run, but you can’t hide. Can we get everyone on board with your idea? Particularly, can we all be comfortable with weeding out the sick, the weakened, the compromised, the elderly or simply the unfortunate of this country so we can restore our economy? No doubt many of the 80,000 already dead contributed to our economy…many of which have already been replaced. But if our hospitals nationwide become overwhelmed and the death toll starts knocking on the door of 7 figures, how quickly can we replace millions? Economic collapse may not be the most pressing concern…rather societal collapse.

    • @Rainbow NtheDark Open your BRAIN… My god, your ignorance is astounding!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️
