Trump lives in the moment. He doesn’t care if he committed crimes if he gets out of bed each morning and he’s still President.

I was angered by Ford’s pardon of Nixon. But eventually I came around to thinking that although Nixon was a highly flawed individual who committed impeachable acts, he was contrite. And he was at his core a patriot who had accomplished some significant things, like opening China and starting the EPA. However, I can’t picture myself ever thinking Trump is worthy of a pardon. To my mind, he needs to be punished as a deterrent.
