First, totally agree it wouldn’t have fazed him, he’d never resign, he’s too delusional to think his own crap isn’t real. Second, McCarthy, IF he even entertained this notion for a second, somehow got reassured that there’d be NO consequences from the partisan Senate.
@wjlintz Fazed, in this usage, caused him to examine the reality before him, examine his own actions, causing him to be disturbed or disconcerted by the possible consequences of his actions. Does that help?
