Michael Moore: Bernie Sanders Is 'Inspiring' To People Who Don't Usually Vote | Katy Tur | MSNBC

  1. His ideas are popular but he isn’t?? Maybe because MSM is constantly pummeling him with negative press? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

    1. Ranked choice voting would be more telling. And it would have prevented those other politicians from dropping out.

    2. @Aaron A420 when the biggest issue for voters is beating trump, and the media drills into your head that biden is more electable despite his clear flaws…yeah the media plays a big role

    3. @Aaron A420 Read or learn about Manufacturing Consent. Also, you could classify it as brainwashing, so you’re not too far off.

    4. Or you can just be familiar with Chomsky’s linguistic work regardless of that one particular book. While words do have power, it’s merely the power to effect the mind, not control it. He didn’t really break any new ground there. We all know how people can be swayed and influenced, but at the end of the day, they have free will. They are individuals. Chomsky himself is very realistic about politics. He’d admit that Sanders had narrow appeal and was rejected by the voters. As long as you can’t accept the vote for what it is, and expect the actual vote to be anything other than what it is, you don’t understand the system, you don’t understand human nature. You’re being simplistic and making excuses for a weak candidate with a platform that lacked broad enough appeal. What part of ‘a socialist can’t win in the world’s largest capitalist society’ don’t you understand? The voters chose to rally around Biden and reject Bernie. Sanders has no real path to win, and will quit the race next week. You only get your own vote. If you’re not mature enough to accept the votes of others, and have to pretend like they are brainwashed robots, that’s on you, not them. You’re chasing unicorns with the Sanders campaign. Always have been. Bernie has been less than honest about his chances of winning, his chances of anything he wanted passing Congress. He was never anywhere close to getting 60 votes in the Senate to pass any of his legislation.Truth is, you fell for the misleading wild goose chase of an old experienced politician. He’s been washing your brain with his spin, manufacturing your consent with his pie-in-the-sky, not-going-to-happen platform. Turns out the gullible one is you, not the rest of the voters. They were wise enough not waste their time on a revolution built to fail. Keep citing Chomsky and think it makes you smart. You’ve probably fallen for a lot of his less-than-honest arguments too. Wow, that ended up long. I spent more time on you than Bernie did the other Tuesday when he went home and didn’t bother to give a speech to any of his movement. How did that feel?

  2. “Sanders eyes Michigan to block Biden’s nomination path”
    Why not:
“Biden eyes Michigan to block Sanders’ nomination path?”

    1. @bidmcms3 Lots of people go to Canada for healthcare. I was taken ill and got very good care immediately. You guys are brain-washed.

    2. Elizabeth Csicsery-Ronay show me the data, so I can see how many more Americans travel to Canada for treatment, than vice versa.

    1. @Fumontaindew2012 – TRUMP DOESN’T HAVE TO WIN IF WE STICK TOGETHER! SO WHAT IF THE CANDIDATE YOU WANTED DIDN’T WIN, AS LONG AS THE ORANGE CLOWN DOESN’T MAKE IT.

    2. @RESPECT MY AUTHORITY
Nah, we deserve Trump… healthcare for all is the greatest thing for the people of this country, especially with the virus now spreading. If people are dumb enough to elect a senile man as Biden with poor policy, we deserve nothing but suffering fro our stupidity. Bernie is our greatest bet.

    3. YES WE WILL!!! We can vote for Ro Khanna or Tulsi is 2024, In 4-8 more years we’ll be able to vote for AOC, and we are just going to continue to nominate Bernie’s going forward, we are going to have an entire party of Bernie Sanders for as long as we Millenials are alive. We are rebuilding the Social Democratic portion of the party and many are even further left than that with Democratic Socialists like MLK Jr himself was!

  3. Moore don’t even waste your breath it’s MSDNC they don’t care they smear that’s all they do. Biden will get dismantled by Trump. Look at Sanders crowds these bubbles elites will never get it

    1. No change from what? From the most incompetent and corrupt administration ever to occupy the White House? Get real. I can’t stand the immaturity of Sanders supporters who see everything as white or black and put forth ridiculous false equivalencies.

    2. @DavidAsset78
No change from the legalized corrupt political system that paved way to this most incompetent presidency.
Walking around with one’s head in a bucket does not change the reality outside the bucket. Yes truth is harsh and a flip flopper like Biden does not stand for it. And now opportunists like andrew yang, cory booker and kamala harris are now flip flopping too to support him.

    1. @Bill Hamm ~ That’s true. My Wife was a Teachers Aid (now retired) and she knows that to be true also. Health Insurance comes with the job for Teachers.

    2. Charlemagne Peralte You are drunk on the kool-aid, trump has actually brought jobs and industry back. You’re probably in a dead end job, don’t take it out on us

    3. Jim Exactly, the union negotiates it in their contact. Most people have insurance and basic policies are cheap especially for young people

    4. @Bill Hamm I know teachers who work ONLY for the benefits. After paying for insurance they make basically zero. Lucky they have partners with decent jobs. That’s reality.

  4. Mike believes in Bernie and so do I. Bernie 2020. Do NOT give up hope. Vote and stay in the fight to fight the power.

  5. Katy, it’s no puzzle what happened to Bernie – you can thank your corporate overlords for propping up sunsetting-Joe.

    1. @TheOffkilter its the explanation of a pattern. Its not like people consciously do it. But advertising works.

    2. @carmay3600 Indeed they are, b/c of MSM ‘electability’ talking points and constant attacks on Sanders and DNC behind the scene efforts to boost Biden.

    3. @TheOffkilter Of course they would not outright say that. This does not change the influence the DNC and MSM has on their decisions. You are missing the forest from the trees.

    4. @Eric Waller, this can be confirmed if you look at exit poll data. Sander’s policies are more popular in every state than the alternatives, yet Biden is getting the votes b/c of fear mongering, red-baiting, and ‘electability’ talking points via MSM.

  6. I guess you’ll wait and find out. Those who make peaceful revolutions impossible make violent revolutions inevitable.

    1. Yeah ? According to the results it seems Sanders doesnt have much supporters anyway. Go ahead show us violence made by few simps online.

    2. @Shinnok 5 We’ve seen violence from Right Wingers in Domestic Terrorist acts for 4 years… The military didn’t get involved.

    1. Heather – Katy actually likes Bernie. She regularly advocates for M4A. She Even bring on guest who tell their personal stories about how M4A would have helped them. (Reporters are supposed to be nonpartisan and tough. Interviewees should expect tough questions. It’s good for their cause.)

  7. Bernie: I want to help you. America: nah, let’s help the 1%, gonna keep punching myself in the face. (:-( #IcebergBiden #IcebergGOPutin #IcebergChump

    1. @Yes Sir! You do know that 80% of Trump’s tax cuts went to the top 1%, and the cuts for the middle class expire after 10 years while the ones for the rich don’t, right? You do know that he put the same bankers he rightly railed against Clinton and Obama for surrounding themselves with into his administration, right? You do know that he didn’t punish the companies that outsourced to overseas the jobs they said they’d keep if Trump gave them a subsidy. They received those billions in subsidies and closed the plants and went overseas anyway. I could go on and on and on about the things FOX won’t cover or lies about that are about Trump, just as people who watch FOX could go on and on about the crap CNN and MSNBC won’t cover about people like Biden or lie on about people like Biden. They’re all propaganda, with a slight difference in the ideologies of the billionaires who own them and hire the managers who control the staff and therefore the content.

    2. @Yes Sir! Strawman much? Also, Trump belongs in your list of leaders more than anyone else running for office right now.

  8. Who are they!? If you want bernie go vote for him!its obvious that rich people do not want him to be president.

    1. @Talaris Watts-EL if Bernie a “nice man”, No….people who scream to get their message across…nah, not nice…he’s been a Independent Senator since 1991…that’s 1991…why has he never wrote a Bill or actually did anything he yells about….hum?

    1. Inconsistent voters are the problem. I guess the people voting for Biden are the “dems” you’re talking about. Individual people made a choice just like you. Unfortunately as of right now Bernie voters are outnumbered. Plain and simple.

    1. She is just doing what her employers are instructing her to do: Protect their wealth by lying and smearing anyone, like Bernie, who challenges their agenda. They do not want to share the goods, out of greed. Bernie reminds me of Robin Hood. It is the workers who get paid pittance while the owners rake it all for themselves.

    1. Voting has to be a consistent, it’s not something you can do “every now and then”. Every local election, every state election, every midterm, every presidential election works together. #basic civics. Whose on the SCOUTS should matter all the time. Congress makes legislation, if you’re not voting consistently on your house rep or senate rep to help/ hinder who POTUS is…it’s a waste of time to vote for president. It’s exactly why Obama couldn’t get much done his second term. He was hindered by a Republican Congress.

    2. @allthewayupNORTH _ I agree with everything you just said

But I also hope you’re not “blue no matter who” they’re the worst

  9. Moore, ask Bernie how will he ensure us darker complexioned Americans about how he intends to close the wealth gap that will take us hundreds of years to catch up on.
    Ask biden too.

Then maybe we can use the equal wages to hire better representation when we get sentenced at a 25% higher rate than our white counterparts for the same crime

    Black president-dead on arrival.

Depending on our vote time and time again (those who fought to keep us enslaved) now the party we back eyes and ears closed and full steam ahead? Slave mentality of still being happy with the scraps. We are the closest DNA to humans. No neatherdal. We get treated like second class citizens upon the first glance taken of our skin color. Broken down generation by generation to systematically create what we have now (willie lynch letter).
